My husband was commenting last night on the faces Weld makes everytime Johnson talks.
Sure, but even then, look how fast shit went national with Christie as soon as the thought even appeared he could be a Republican presidential candidate. As an example.

Looks like the Wikileaks main face, Assange, has lost his internet access and so far there's no word as whether the's still at the Ecuadorian Embassy in the UK (where he's lived for four years).

The Podesta email release deadline was missed, but made up for today. Wikileaks has sent out some cryptic codes/keys which may allow parts of a widely torrented wikileaks encrypted file to be decrypted. Some are suggesting that these were activated by dead mans switches - ie, if Assange or other specific members of wikileaks don't check in with a website or internet robot occasionally then these keys may be the result of losing access to the internet, and ultimately the means of opening this file that's supposed to contain data they are threatening governments with.
At any rate, something odd is happening, and perhaps the US is putting additional pressure on ecuador/uk/others to silence assange or wikileaks.

Oh, and so far the most recent files are not yet decrypted, and it appears that whatever codes were tweeted earlier, they don't unlock this latest file from this summer.
It's the rhetoric on the left about Russia being our cyberenemy that is most likely to draw us into another cold war. Further, Obama and Clinton's START treaty with Russia to limit nuclear weapons was largely ineffective - this was action she performed as secretary of state, and by most accounts she failed to make a treaty that actually affected Russia:

Of course, Obama took another tack entirely. The treaty limits deployed nuclear weapons, but not total nuclear weapons. So what does he do? He signs a nuclear weapons modernization program. What does it do?
It puts nuclear warheads on cruise missiles.
That don't need to be be "deployed" to be effective.
Thus the START treaty is ineffective on the US as well, and due to the modernization program Russia is also working to update their nuclear program.
I don't know what cool aid you're drinking, but if you have bought into Clinton as a way to avoid another cold war, I suspect you may have been fooled.

Also worth mentioning that Assange has an axe to grind against Hillary Clinton going back years. When Wikileaks released a series of diplomatic cables (the ones that Chelsea Manning is doing time for giving to Assange) in 2010, Clinton was among those calling for Assange to be indicted.
I don't know. It's a mess. Clinton isn't a peacenik, and Trump is just asking to be goaded into a war.
I suspect Trump may actually listen to his military advisers to some degree, but I doubt they necessarily have good intentions either.

I don't know which is worse. As a whole, the world does seem to be devolving into a slightly more entropic state. I do believe we've passed the point of peace for the world's super powers and we'll end up in a variety of economic and information wars over the next hundred years that will really change how we interact internationally.
The brexit vote really shows that international cooperation is on the rocks, and it's not just Britain and the EU, it looks like a lot of nations are pulling away in small ways from international cooperation and groups.
The word is that Trump absolutely refuses to listen to his intelligence briefings, particularly as regards Russia. In fact, Trump pretty much ignores his advisors across the board.

The Ecuador Embassy in London where Julian Assange has been living since June 2012 has cut his internet access (as reported by Wikileaks).
Leading up to this action, and possibly related: a dating site toddandclare.com contracted Assange earlier this year (they say he approached them) to work with them on their KATIA project, “a safety tool for women planning to go on a date with someone online.” He allegedly used the site for nefarious purposes that perhaps upset his hosts.
Toddandclare became a participant in the UN Global Compact program in May 2016. This required them to release certain company records to the UN, including details of their legal interactions with Assange — which by then included a report from the Royal Bahamas Police about an investigation into Assange. (Assange is no longer involved in KATIA.)
On September 28 this year a Canadian family holidaying in the Bahamas reported to the police that their 8-year-old daughter was “sexually molested online” by Assange on Toddandclare.com, including propositioning her “to perform oral and anal sex acts.” She was presumably accessing the site through her 22-year-old sister’s account. Whether these chats were recorded or not isn’t clear but the family claims they identified Assange.
A description of the investigation (as summarized by Toddandclare) is linked from this tweet:

Toddandclare (T&C Network Solutions) filed a report to the UN asking them to essentially reconsider their support of Assange (earlier this year a UN Working Group made a decision that Assange's “detention” was “arbitrary” and that he should be released and compensated). That link is to a google cache of the document, as the UN removed it from their site and redirected the link to a generic page.
Toddandclare in an October 11 press release said they “started UK court proceedings in October 2016 against Julian Assange, with UK court reference C9QZ4K3T, after learning of an ongoing Royal Bahamas Police Force Investigation” into the allegations against Assange.
To clarify another point: The company claims Assange approached them in June this year about working on the KATIA project as an anti-rape ambassador. The above lawsuit relates to breach of contract.

This angered the company — they consider this to be “defamatory” (see their blog post); in addition they invested substantial money into training staff to meet the requirements of belonging to the UN program.
Toddandclare Facebook post relating to the Bahamas investigation (actually open letter to the Canadian PM Trudeau) alleging the Bahamas Police swept the investigation “under the rug” and leaked the story to a UK tabloid (via its US editor), resulting in the social services woman now denying meeting the family or housing them for a month (I can’t see that the Sun published anything online; perhaps in print?); and alleging the UN delisted them due directly to a friend of Assange’s at the UN (Mads Andenas) intervening.

That's probably a good move on their part; it's one thing to protect Assange from what almost certainly going to be a death sentance or life in prison after a military tribunal, but it's another to let him use that protection to actively interfere in the elections of a country that is, at the very least, not hostile to them. They could be held accountable for the second.

I am all for prosecuting and stopping domestic terrorists with the full extent of the law. But I don't lust for them to be slaughtered like animals. Since they're human beings and their families (victims?) deserve a fair trial and punishment by a court of law, jury of peers, etc, all that America stuff I thought conservatives love.
Also, the feds proved that they didn't need a bloated budget to take care of the Malheur Occupation. Just a little finesse, some pizzas, and "hallejujah." It was a huge accomplishment to end that with only one casualty, that was as close to waving a neon "suicide by cop me please" sign as possible

Okay okay, fine. I don't actually hope that the feds terminate those people with extreme prejudice. And considering that demographic suffers from high rates of domestic violence, their families are likely victims. But you've got one thing wrong. I'm not a conservative. Hell, I even voted for Sanders in the Democratic primary.

They've renounced citizenship in any nation so, according to that logic, then the Bill of Rights shouldn't apply to them.
