The Strawman fallacy is where you argue against a point your opposition has not made. In its purest form, you literally pretend to be your opponent so that you can compare other people to your easily defeated straw man.
Huh... that's a level of strawmanning that's never occurred to me.
I believe that level of strawmanning is usually referred to as "Sock Puppetry."

Yeah I've got enough people on my FB "friends" list that really post like that that I never questioned its authenticity.
Plus I find the reddit/YouTube/etc comment section trend of calling basically everything fake far more irritating than the thing itself.[DOUBLEPOST=1477050849,1477050353][/DOUBLEPOST]Wait... the confirmation is the photo match? That's it? Not very convincing. Someone could have cut and pasted over their friends' photos for anonymity.

I don't actually assume you faked that, but I did figure it was a humorous way of saying that I do indeed start with assumption that the interweb is lying to me until it proves otherwise.
Interestingly, I handle the real world oppositely, granting trust to people until they lose it.
