[Gaming] Overwatch (#boycottblizz)

Sure, it all sounds so logical. Putting it into practice, however...
He does make it look easy.
Also, he did a really good job editing the video, it tracks the music very well.
This video made me notice something I didn't notice in the trailer.
...what happened to her fingernail when she boops the official on the nose? Where did it go? It's there when she's showing all the other blackmail pictures...

I figured they were part of the costume (and presumably part of the stereotype, too), not part of her, but I've never seen them retracted anywhere except that scene.
I looked at the video again, and I was a little bit off, they are used for her hacking but seems they are not retractable, instead they are actually made of hard light similar to what Symmetra and Lucio utilize. If you watch the scene again right after the boop, she pulls her hand back and you can see the nails reform in light particles as she gives her little goodbye wave. They are what give off the light rays that form her hacking pad and her hacking tendrils she uses to interface with computers and machines.

If that's the case, I wonder if there will be any dialogue with Symmetra. She's none to pleased with Lucio stealing "her" tech, so what'll her opinion of Sombra be?

I would imagine she wouldn't be happy.

Sombra actually uses more then just stolen hard light tech though, her translocator, if you look at it, is the same design as Tracers chronal accelerator, and was likely her own hack of the tech in combination with Vishkar teleporter technology to give her a variation of Tracers "recall" power.

To be fair, a lot of his unbelievable pwnage in his PC run comes from all of a sudden being able to aim properly. :p

I am primarily a console guy, and I even love shooters on console, but aiming is aiming.

He made it in retaliation for how people trash talked his original video because he was playing console.

The moral of the story here is, don't be a dick. :D
All this really shows me is that a 1v1 duel of Lucio v. Lucio would go on a looooooooooong time.

New Symmetra is going to require team coordination, and she probably still won't see a lot of play. But she gets two ults lol.

Yeah, I'm with you. I don't see the moving one-shot photon barrier ultimate as rescuing a bad design, and while being able to stock up 6 turrets as "ammo" is nice, it's also too little. She needs something more. I'll tell you one thing that might be good - increase the range and eliminate the self-snare of placing her turrets, for one. That should just be a QOL adjustment, really. Ridiculous how much hopping is required to place turrets sometimes, and it'd be nice to be able to place turrets on the run without suddenly moving like you're hip deep in molasses.

But I guess the range increase on her left click will be nice, too.[DOUBLEPOST=1479841810,1479841740][/DOUBLEPOST]And Jeff's voice still makes me want to punch him.

I thought the moving barrier replaced her E, and the second ultimate was more on par with Lucio.

Hrm, I guess I read it wrong. That makes it even more disappointing, though. Unoriginal as well as of marginal utility.
It makes her less effective as boosting flankers, which was what got her in trouble in the first place back in beta, since she will no longer have her fire and forget shield. However, it will be great for defending turret nests and getting some quick blocks, since it's a true shield. Roadhog about to hook you? throw the shield. McCree ulting? fire the shield towards him and give yourself time to reach cover.

Her new alternate ultimate, the Shield Generator, will be her big bread and butter, since he said it will give a substantial shield boost to all teammates in a radius, and lasts until destroyed or replaced. While we don't know exactly how much more it adds, just imagine Anubis with a Symmetra putting her generator and adding another 75 recharging health (going off her original E shield size in beta) in shields to everyone nearby, plus her pop shields during big pushes.

In the end we will have to try her out before we make any claims on how successful the changes are, but this will make her much more viable in all defend situations, and also a bit more viable for attack too (since she can basically do a Reinhardt push minus Reinhardt.)

My point was that she requires team coordination, so probably won't be popular in a solo queue situation.

You might be right (though we still see her from time to time with randos, even in her current, broken state, don't we), but it has also been demonstrated that Blizzard's only data for balancing characters comes from what the top 100 esport pro gremlins are picking on a day to day basis, not what us glorfied lootbox ATMs down at the borders of gold tier are experiencing. Lord knows what they'll decide to change next. "We've noticed Mei isn't getting picked as often as we think she should be up in the top competitive tiers, so we've decided to change her ultimate to cover the entire map and not require line of sight for the effect to hit enemy targets."

Only listening to what the top 0.1% wants and ignoring the rest? Good thing the real world doesn't work that way, eh?

Data miners found a whole lot of new voice lines and conversations on the ptr. They also seemed to confirm a Christmas themed event, as they found a festive holiday version of the Overwatch title theme.

I don't think they did enough to change the character to make her interesting to people who already don't like her, but people who already play as Symmetra well will likely benefit from the changes.

That doesn't surprise me; Blizzard wouldn't pass up the opportunity to make loot boxes look like Christmas presents.

I don't know if he'd be a good fit with the rest of the "serious" characters' lines (too gimmicky?), but I'd love to see him in a commercial for it.
You remember the Ben Stein commercials for that movie/video game? Like that, only more outrageous.
There is nothing saying Terry Crews has to be over the top. I think he would be a good fit if they make him a new incarnation of Doomfist, since the mantle (and gauntlet) seems to move on from person to person.

Actually, isn't the first Doomfist called the Savior? He looks like he could fit that one, maybe an old hero turned villian turned hero again, coming out of retirement much like half the other Overwatch cast. :p It would also let us finally have a hero from Numbani / Africa, since there is no hero really tied to that area of the world yet.
