I want to give that mug to @Dirona just for the Affect/Effect ones.
I hope not (slightly easier-to-understand explanation here), or if it is then at least I hope it's been updated to a version that isn't affected.it's likely that the forum is using imagmagik
Well I just assume because it's the most common free image manipulation utility used on servers. I have no idea what xenforo uses in the background.Hah! my (our?) theory was correct.

Well if we are, then I hope someone takes the hint.Presumably they aren't using a bad version though.
She covered up that gorgeous red hair! Wicked, bad, naughty Zoot!TIL Carol Cleveland - the blonde woman who showed up whenever the Monty Python team needed an actually atractive woman for a sketch - wasn't actually blonde. She's a redhead.
Clearly, we must spank her...She covered up that gorgeous red hair! Wicked, bad, naughty Zoot!
...and after the spankings...
One of the other "pretty" blondes (by English standards) was Connie Booth, John Cleese's wife. Eh, I'm seeing more parallels with the Superior Spider-Man (they are calling Doom the Infamous Iron Man), or that time when 4 different guys were running around as Superman.I ALSO-notice a DISTINCT similarity to ANOTHER famous high-tech supervillain who after deciding to turn over a new leaf, took up the mantle of the fallen hero with SuperLex. Marvel comics is run by idiots and the series needs a proper friggin' reboot.
Ugh, don't remind us.that time when 4 different guys were running around as Superman.
Oh, but as the NY Toy Fair reminds us.... evil never diesUgh, don't remind us.
Every subreddit is run by its own little tinpot dictator who decides what is and isn't acceptable for their own little fiefdom.TIL that Reddit has the craziest amount of rules to post in their forums!!
Ok, I learned that yesterday but I feel asleep before I could share here
That's not always true, sometimes they're run by a tyrannical oligarchy!Every subreddit is run by its own little tinpot dictator who decides what is and isn't acceptable for their own little fiefdom.
I just wanted to trade some Pokémon! I couldn't be bothered to sign up after reading one of the many lists of rules.Every subreddit is run by its own little tinpot dictator who decides what is and isn't acceptable for their own little fiefdom.
HAH. I went to Akinator, clicked play, first question: "Is your person a youtuber?"TIL Akinator is able to guess both SovietWomble and Cyanide.
Same here. It got Michael "Rage Quit" Jones in 25 questions.HAH. I went to Akinator, clicked play, first question: "Is your person a youtuber?"
Guess there's been a lot of that lately.
But you gotta admit, that's pretty fucking obscure.[DOUBLEPOST=1487898390,1487898146][/DOUBLEPOST]I mean, I just tried Amos Trask from the Riftwar series and it guessed Whiskeyjack from the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Characters from non-mainstream fantasy novels outnumber grains of sand at the beach.[DOUBLEPOST=1487898469][/DOUBLEPOST]I gave it another chance and it guessed Bayle Domon from wheel of time.[DOUBLEPOST=1487898522][/DOUBLEPOST]And again... Captain Deudermont from Forgotten Realms. See what I mean?[DOUBLEPOST=1487898658][/DOUBLEPOST]And again.. Captain Henry Avery, a real life English pirate. 80 questions in. heh.[DOUBLEPOST=1487898823][/DOUBLEPOST]Turns out nobody had ever asked him to guess Amos Trask from the Riftwar novels. He gave up and had me fill out the information for him.I never tried it before, but Taran from the Prydain chronicles stumped it. It guessed dread pirate Roberts
Well, considering that anyone who's played Betrayal at Krondor has heard them say "Pug" about 2900 times during the game, I'm not surprised.Oddly enough, next I played "Pug" from the same series, and he got it, and over 2900 other people have at some time tried Pug.
Non mainstream? There's an animated Disney movie and the last book won the Newberry! And he's the protagonist. One of the least successful disney movies ever, and although I remember what the Newberry award is, I couldn't name one right now to save my life because I have two digits in my age (and no children) and I'd probably name a Caldecott medal winner instead by accident.Non mainstream? There's an animated Disney movie and the last book won the Newberry! And he's the protagonist.
Yeah, but that still puts the books in the top recognizable crust of fantasy novels. The percentage of the fantasy genre adapted into Disney movies is minuscule. As for your second point, that's personal. There are quite a few people young and old who respect and adore Newberry winners. It carries a lot of weight. One of the least successful disney movies ever, and although I remember what the Newberry award is, I couldn't name one right now to save my life because I have two digits in my age (and no children) and I'd probably name a Caldecott medal winner instead by accident.
