When the lady on the other end of the speaker at the Sonic drive-thru can guess your order, Maybe one should admit if they are in a bit of a rut.
If romcoms have taught me anything, maybe one of you should be asking the other out on a date.
I know everything's thinking Smashing Pumpkins, but what leaps into my brain is Soul Asylum.
I'm thinking about that month I left a live trap set up in our backyard. Caught two squirrels and a 'possum. An unhappy opossum is a scary opossum.

Following movie logic, she'll be a whimsical buxom liberal redhead who teaches how to break out of your rut and follow your dreams.

I'm going to look into LASIK (or other random eye thing) because we have a bunch of money in our HSA right now and I pointed out to my husband that even with VSP I pay $350 for new glasses because of the need to go for the super thin lenses, so in the long run it'll probably save us money. :p First step is seeing if I even can though. My eye doctor encouraged it, since my vision is so bad that if I lose my glasses I'm screwed.

Lasik was the best thing I ever did for myself (that cost money, at least). I love not needing glasses any more.

That said, everything people say about what it does to your night vision is true. I really, really don't like driving at night anymore. It gets less pronounced as the years go by, but it's been like 10 years for me and it's still noticeable.

Annnd that rules me out. Almost all my driving is at night. :(

You can still do it, you just... gotta be extra careful, especially the first year or so. And also it's kind of unpleasant. Oncoming headlights kinda do a kaleidoscope effect in your eyes for a couple years, and your ability to see in really dark dark gets decreased by a lot. At least, that's what happened for me.

It's manageable in town, where everything's lit up by streetlights and signs, but it took me 5 or so years to not be nervous on the highway outside town at night because, aside from aforementioned oncoming kaleidoscopes, the world pretty much ceased to exist outside my headlights unless the moon was full, high, and unobscured.

I already don't drive at night unless I have no choice because I get horrific glare at night. So nothing is going to change there. I already get cinema style lens flare off every light as well. So I'm not super worried about that. Most of the drawbacks already exist to me in one degree or another.

I get that too. Without the lasik :(

Probably the #1 reason I don't fiddle with my eyes. That and my prescription is under 2 diopter, so it's not all that strong anyway.

Don't regret it either. Eyes are a bit more sensitive, but honestly it's not that much of a problem for me. No nighttime halos, though slightly more sensitive, that's true.

Got my first haircut since last July. I feel like a sheared sheep. The barber also trimmed my beard.

Feels weird but looks good.

I played the word "dongs" against my dad in a game of online scrabble rip-off game. Heh.[DOUBLEPOST=1490321424,1490320943][/DOUBLEPOST]And bum against my cousin. I have thème tonight lol :)

Youtube got a bit of a bloody nose in the last few days, in the form of another lesson on why most companies that rely on advertising have an actual human sales force instead of an unsupervised algorithm, as advertisers bolted for the door when they realized their ads were being run wherever/whenever, including on videos advocating homophobia/antisemitism.

I mean, my Space Engineers videos still pull in 12 bucks a month off advertisers I'd be willing to bet have never even heard of Space Engineers, so maybe this will affect me, too, but I'm seeing echoes of the "durr obviously" situation that aborted Google's short and ill-advised foray into radio advertising 10 years ago.

That is also on the heels of the Youtube Restricted Mode blocking any and all LGBTQ+ content, including just Youtubers who happen to be LGBTQ+. They claim that was accidental and are going to fix it.

It's really just been Youtube fucking up everywhere this week.
