I'm missing something. Is he grasping at a typo?Got into a dumb argument on Twitter today. It all started when I saw him tweet "The future of America is white and Christian." Hilarity ensued.
His final counteroffensive on me, though?
RETWEETING MY PINNED TWEET.
"I'll show HIM! I'll give him free advertising for his new novel!"
I've come to the terrifying conclusion that I may be a clone of James May.Buying ink for a fountain pen "ironically" may have put you into the upper echelon of hipsterism
Signs point to old. I'm 48, remember?Don't forget the heavy interest in vinyl. *shakes magic eight ball* "Signs point to hipster"
So you're saying... you were a hipster before it was "a thing?"Signs point to old. I'm 48, remember?
Even sooner. I was well into college before CDs became a thing. So I had the stuff that's coming back before it went away.So you're saying... you were a hipster before it was "a thing?"
What do you use your ink for?I've come to the terrifying conclusion that I may be a clone of James May.
Noodler's is fond of inks with interesting backstories. This one is Brexit Royal Blue. A UK exclusive, but only~$20 shipped to the US.
So yeah, I had to.
But since I'm unsuited for skinny jeans, and I use a DE razor instead of letting the beard grow out, I think I've disqualified myself for hipsterdom.
We're the same age, CDs were a thing when I was in high school, and I lived in a small town. CDs were outselling vinyl in the late 80s.Even sooner. I was well into college before CDs became a thing. So I had the stuff that's coming back before it went away.
You have any advice into definitively good upsampling hardware/software? 'Cuz I'd love to turn a bunch of 44's into 88 lossless, if only for archival purposes.I had vinyl, too, but I got rid of it. Got rid of my CDs too. I much prefer disembodied copies. Plus, I research signal processing for a living, so I'd argue with any audiophilia arguments till I was blue in the face.
Some say, "human life is priceless!"I have discovered what the price of my sanity is:
$440 per month.
That is the difference between my monthly pension starting in January of 2018, as opposed to me staying at my current job until November of 2021.
Heh, I clicked all the pages there and it was amusing.
I've been keeping a journal on and off for years, but I use my pens at work wherever I don't exclusively need a ballpoint. So everything I'm writing except the bank deposit slips. The carbonless copies don't do fountain pens very well. What do you use your ink for?
My biggest argument in favor of vinyl over digital is a 12-year old script kiddie isn't going to be able to wipe out my music library for the lulz. And there's no sense of accomplishment, no rush to typing the name of an album into a search engine and hitting "download." Compare that to finding an original issue copy of FZ's Hot Rats that is almost *never* seen in the wild.I had vinyl, too, but I got rid of it. Got rid of my CDs too. I much prefer disembodied copies. A rare picture of @Dave's audience, minutes after his first appearance on stage.
Smiling? Looking quite entertained actually? You sure that's what you meant to go for?A rare picture of @Dave's audience, minutes after his first appearance on stage.
Hey I'll buy that part.My biggest argument in favor of vinyl over digital is a 12-year old script kiddie isn't going to be able to wipe out my music library for the lulz. I won't deny it's a whole lot easier to grab a digital copy, especially to have for in the car. But there's the thrill of the chase, man. That's a lot of the fun.
