Ok, give ya that one.Walking Dead.
Though, it is strange that when I googled "Image comics characters" none of the Walking Dead stuff comes up.
(checks again) ahh wait, there's Michonne tucked way in the back there.

True, but I really thought they did something great with Gen13 back in the day. Once they stopped trying to find ways to rip Fairchild's clothes and use Rainmaker's bisexuality for the typical "male gaze" audience (basically once they got rid of J. Scott Campbell), it was a really fun comic. It was pretty light-hearted compared to a lot of the 90's Image titles, and was one of the few comic teams under any publisher that was women-lead and women-majority while still being co-ed.I've been saying for years that today's Image publishes more QUALITY books than Marvel and DC combined. They evolved and moved away from their edgy crap long ago. 90s throwback schlock like Spawn and Savage Dragon (both STILL being published today) pale in comparison to Walking Dead, Saga, Chew, Elephantmen, The Fade Out, Lazarus, etc.
That's ANOTHER title that should have been on that google... sounds to me like google's dropping the ball. I mean, I've not read Gen 13 per se, but I have at least heard of them.Gen 13
To be fair, Wildstorm which was the Jim Lee imprint that put out Gen13 was bought by DC years ago. That's ANOTHER title that should have been on that google... sounds to me like google's dropping the ball. I mean, I've not read Gen 13 per se, but I have at least heard of them.
That happened in 1998, correct? It's a fair point, but I do remember... uh... seeing Caitlin Fairchild-related media on certain BBSes I used back in high school... so I still *should* have remembered it as being connected with Image. To be fair, Wildstorm which was the Jim Lee imprint that put out Gen13 was bought by DC years ago.
I could see outrage if this was happening on opening night or something, but they are doing it days later. If it bugs you, go to a different theater. If it REALLY bugs you, don't go back to the Alamo Drafthouse. Problem solved. All those people are busy crying about the women only screenings.
They need to prep their keyboards for being pissy in case Aquaman gets well-received when the director isn't white.I could see outrage if this was happening on opening night or something, but they are doing it days later. Missed this from last page, but yes. There are people who go to the comic store, get their monthly Saga, and don't come back until the next one.And fuck, even non comic readers I know have read Saga.
Saw this picture, reminded me of your post quoted above. It's more than just seeing a movie at this point.
I've waited for this close to 34 years
Kati asked me: "Do you feel like a women-only screening of Wonder Woman is discriminatory?"All those people are busy crying about the women only screenings.
I really hope it works out for you. I really do. As a kid, Kati used to run around the house in a towel yelling the words to the theme, except that all she could remember was "Wonder Womann!!" over and over again. I don't doubt she wants to see it as well, and for similar reasons. For 2 1/2 hours, I want to be that little girl in her Wonder Woman underoos again.
It's worth noting that a formal request has not been filed, this same group has suggested banning nearly every DC movie (or Western movies in general) and that WW is still premiering in the countryLebanon official wants WW banned because Gadot is Israeli.
It's gamergater butthurt on a global scale.
Every time I hear the word "meninist" it makes me think of the old jingle at the end of deodorant commercials.I mentioned to my wife that while I didn't get out to see Guardians of the Galaxy yet, I feel like I need to see WW just to offset the meninists who won't go because they don't want a woman super hero to succeed.
Shiftless.Or those guys with beards in straw hats and overalls.

You could always treat yourself to a double feature.I mentioned to my wife that while I didn't get out to see Guardians of the Galaxy yet, I feel like I need to see WW just to offset the meninists who won't go because they don't want a woman super hero to succeed.
So it isn't the avocados.Dude, I'm not taking out a second mortgage just to see two movies in one weekend.
Harsh warning:Welp, I turned down an offer from a friend for two free passes to see Wonder Woman.
Given that my depression is so crippling sometimes that I don't leave the house for days, you'll forgive me if I don't find that funny.Harsh warning: WTF? you have a free chance to get out of the house and you turn it down?
That's why I put the warning up. It isn't funny. And I have walked several miles in your shoes. Even to this day.Given that my depression is so crippling sometimes that I don't leave the house for days, you'll forgive me if I don't find that funny.
This isn't going to sound like a joke to some, but it isn't: maybe arguing with people on Twitter isn't the best thing for your mental health right now.Given that my depression is so crippling sometimes that I don't leave the house for days, you'll forgive me if I don't find that funny.
Not any more it's not. It's worth noting that a formal request has not been filed, this same group has suggested banning nearly every DC movie (or Western movies in general) and that WW is still premiering in the country
I was reading about this, and someone pointed out that the author (unless they used a pseudonym) was a 71-year-old, no-longer-employeed lawyer that has been divorced since 1975. Lest we think all of the bullshit is the 14-40 year old basement-dwellers.
What does he mean it took this long to get a female superhero movie? Is he not a fan of Catwoman, starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry?
So Hooters gets a pass for "employees must have boobies", because without the boobies gimmick it would be just another shitty sports bar, but an Alamo is breaking the law by having one women-only event for a screening of Wonder WOMAN?Suzanne Lucas, writing for Inc. Magazine, does have an interesting point about the screenings -- they're illegal. (Inc.)
Yes, of course they are.So Hooters gets a pass for "employees must have boobies", because without the boobies gimmick it would be just another shitty sports bar, but an Alamo is breaking the law by having one women-only event for a screening of Wonder WOMAN?
You seem to be having trouble with your words and how you come across lately, so for future reference, wording the answer to a question with "of course" makes you come across as a smug dipshit.Yes, of course they are.
So, why is it okay for Hooters to not hire a guy in a server position? But unless someone makes a big stink about it and demonstrates how they were injured by it, it's unlikely anyone will prosecute.
