HNNN. I suppose.

It felt rather anti-climactic cause I went in to talk to my boss and was all 'I'm looking for other jobs since I need to save up for school and be working full-time.' And her response was 'Will you stay if we give you a raise and make you full time?' So. Like. It was pretty low-key.
What, did you want drama? Because I'll give you drama. I'm so sad! Your being full time is going to be hell on our friendship!

I'm getting along a lot better with the new afternoon jock than I ever did with Wookiee. The guy's got a positive attitude, a good work ethic, and likes to talk about anime and video games. I think he'll do.
So what should we start calling him? Does he look like a Klingon, maybe?

Dunno, only distinguishing characteristic I've noticed so far is that his voice is a DEAD RINGER for one of our old general managers. It still startles me to hear it down the hall, sometimes.

I just handed in my final assignment for Mathematics Part 2, a teaching upgrade course here in Ontario. I need 3 parts to be considered a 'Specialist' in Primary/Junior/Intermediate Mathematics. This last one was intense, only 4 weeks long, whereas part one took place over the course of 3 months. Same amount of content into that condensed time, nearly drove me nuts. Time for rum!

1. Fill the 3 oz. glass.
2. Empty 3 oz. glass into the four ounce glass.
3. Refill 3 ounce glass, then pour it into 4 oz. glass until full, leaving you with 2 ounces.
4. Toss the 2 ounces down the sink and finish the rest of the bottle.

You wastes two ounces of rum! Bad drifter! :p

I'd put bottle away, maybe for a Christmas re-gift. Get Chairman's Reserve from St. Lucia out. Proceed to thoroughly enjoy.

I'm burning the candle at both ends working 60 hours weeks (or attempting to, anyway) because in consulting it's feast or famine and turning down one of these three 20hr/wk contracts wouldn't be good.

The stress of the time consumption is really eating at me, and on top of it each of these projects is logjammed for different reasons - until this week, and all three suddenly started progressing. I'm still behind where I want to be on all of them, but I at least have good news to report to each client during our upcoming meetings.

So not as stressed out as I've been these last several weeks.

So my mouse at work, a standard Microsoft two-button-one-wheel mouse, was getting hard to use. The buttons and scroll wheel were getting gunked up after years of use, which was making it unresponsive. I could go to IT and ask for another mouse, but it'd likely be yet another Microsoft mouse that's seen years of service, which meant I'd probably not be much better off.

So instead I decided to just buy my own mouse. I went to a computer store and spent around ten bucks on a gaming-standard mouse, with five buttons and a shiny red and black outer casing. It reminds me of a Transformer, or of Iron Man, if Tony Stark's armor was red and black instead of red and gold. As far as functionality goes, it works much better than my old mouse. In terms of gaming performance, there's probably nothing special about it (only cost ten bucks, after all), but everything works so smoothly and easily now.

Seeing my cool mouse actually makes me happier when I come in to work now.
^ I posted this, about getting a new mouse for work, about a year ago.

Well, getting a cheap mouse apparently caught up with me, because after just a year it started acting up. The scroll wheel wouldn't work properly, sometimes the pointer would jump all over the place, stuff like that. Oh well, it didn't cost much anyway, and this meant I could get...

AN EVEN NEWER AND COOLER MOUSE!

My new work mouse has LEDs, and looks even cooler than my previous one. It's still relatively cheap though, so it might wonk out after a while too. That's ok, I'll just get an even cooler mouse after that. From now on, my work mouses will be an endless stream of awesome-looking peripherals.
