Most people in the USA that identify as libertarian have as much in common with actual libertarianism as the democratic party has with socialism.

The "no true scotsman" fallacy requires a generalization and ad hoc definition. The Koch brothers are demonstrably not adhering to libertarian tenets - which are clearly defined.
The fallacy is definitely not in effect in my post.
They're the one's flying the libertarian flag, with the money and power to make it stick. It's up to you "real" libertarians to take it away from them. Good luck with that.

Recently neo-Nazis have co-opted preferred pronouns as subtle signals to each other and to manipulate terms of service on social media. Is it up to me and other non-cis people to stop them? I don't have that power, besides calling out their bullshit, any more than Gas has power over the Kochs.

Are the Koch brothers actually associated with the Libertarian Party in any way? Other than having apparently claimed to be libertarian that is? Because if not & if most people associate them with other political beliefs (go ahead - ask random people what the Koch brothers' political beliefs are. See how many people say libertarianism over conservatism) then there's not much "true" libertarians can do other than say "They're not libertarians, and here's why" any time the subject comes up.

He made two statement posts about libertarians and abortion to point out that Kochs are going against that. How would you have preferred him to word it?

The bad guys are the Kochs for dumping money on Alabama under the guise of "libertarianism." How dare I suggest it's up to "real" libertarians to put a stop to that.

And how do you suggest he does that? He can't stop them being horrible people. He can't stop them spending money in Alabama to do horrible things. All he can do is - when they're claiming to do that in the name of his ideology - say "No you're fucking not." Which he has done.
Let me ask you a hypothetical situation - if the Kochs' had done this but claimed to be democrats, what would you have done that Gas hasn't?

Coal company goes broke, declares bankruptcy. When you do that you have to turn over all financials. Guess what? They were spending lots of money on anti-global climate change groups. To keep the conversation relevant to what we're already talking about, one of those groups is a "libertarian think-tank" that says temps are falling and that climate change is fake.
