I also have Isabelle complaining that I now have too much clutter on my island which is odd as all she’s been telling me for ages is to decorate more.

I think when she says clutter she is referring to dropped items specifically. Like I dropped a bunch of DIY and got downgraded to a 3 for clutter. When I picked them all up I went back to a 4 the following day.

They really need a fix to that. People tend to buy a lot of turnips and the only way they look good anywhere is in a crafted garden outside.

Dropping them in your house doesn't affect rankings unless you let them rot (since HHA comes Saturday night), and yes it looks dumb, but once you get the golden watering can it doesn't really matter if you hold on to 5 star.
