You are such a fetus. What's the big deal that some guy from one of those old movies is old? That's how it always is.

I dice hot dogs and fry them in ketchup. Call them Bobbitts. We have a new colleague joining us next week. Her first name's Lorena.
90's kids will know why I internally wince every time I see or hear her name.
And when you were born, I was about as close to 30 as you are nowNot really. I'm closer to 30 than 25.

If you were to hear me speak you'd realise some of us have barely learnt a first language.Americans - or French, or Brits - complaining about having to learn a second language amuse me.
When you aren't exposed to other languages very often, it's also a lot harder to learn them.I did 8 years of Hebrew prior to Spanish. Not my fault my country's main language is the default language of the world.
And, like a muscle, when you don't use them, they atrophy. I still am pissed my sister threw away my DLI Russian books when they bought my parents house. When you aren't exposed to other languages very often, it's also a lot harder to learn them.
I took 6 years of French in Middle/High School. I'm pretty sure my daughter took French because she figured I'd be able to help her with her shit. Joke's on her, that was over half my life ago. And, like a muscle, when you don't use them, they atrophy. I still am pissed my sister threw away my DLI Russian books when they bought my parents house.
I do at least still have this, that I bought in Munich during my language refresher course.I took 6 years of French in Middle/High School. I'm pretty sure my daughter took French because she figured I'd be able to help her with her shit. Joke's on her, that was over half my life ago.
I think I have a copy of the Hobbit in Russian somewhere as well from my days in college.I do at least still have this, that I bought in Munich during my language refresher course.

You're a continental European. Isn't knowing at least three languages the default setting?I did 8 years of French, 6 of English, 4 of German, 2 Latin and one semester introduction to ancient Greek. And I focused on science and math, not languages. Americans - or French, or Brits - complaining about having to learn a second language amuse me.
You would be surprised at what comes back. I did late immersion and then didn't study it again until I needed it for work. The little bit I had from back then was a big help in my studies then.I took 6 years of French in Middle/High School. I'm pretty sure my daughter took French because she figured I'd be able to help her with her shit. Joke's on her, that was over half my life ago.
I did late immersion and took both German and Spanish briefly in school when we lived places without immersion (I'm old lol - Immersion is standard now).I did 8 years of French, 6 of English, 4 of German, 2 Latin and one semester introduction to ancient Greek. For me, it was 8 years of English, 6 years of Swedish, 5 years of German, 1 year of French, and one semester of Russian.I did 8 years of French, 6 of English, 4 of German, 2 Latin and one semester introduction to ancient Greek.
