Weird weather

At 10 o'clock this morning it was 110 degrees in the plant.

I spent the morning in the office freezing my balls off.

We got a severe storm/tornado here yesterday in my part of Québec/Eastern Ontario. Over 200,000 people without power, currently 5 dead. And more injured. Plus all the trees downed and the damage. Winds were blowing at 140 km/h (that's about 87 miles/hour I think). We twigged it wasn't just a thunderstorm when the rain was blowing through our open patio door despite our 20-foot-long roof extending over our deck). Took refuge in the basement for an hour with the doggie we're dog-sitting.

A couple of our trees got blown down, but ZERO damage to the house, garage, deck or camper. Never even lost power, which boggles my mind.

No, it's going to be nice and sunny and perfect every god damned day.
3-4 pm each day will likely have some pop up showers along the coast. This is a thing as far inland as 100-120 miles. This will not be a cooling rain, it will be a humid rain and you will sweat.

With all the stuff passing to the north of us, we're getting hella wind. It's one thing to have 100F+ temps; its another to have 15-20mph winds blowing it around constantly.

It’s just the new convection service they’re trying out in your area.

The saharan dust plume just landed on my area with a resounding thud. Visibility was really in the shitter this morning.

Too many pine trees to have visibility over here. I haven’t been outside very much today, heat index has been over 100f for too much of the day.

*googles*

Holy shit, I didn't even know that was a thing. I didn't realize dust from the Saharan desert could travel across the ocean like that.
Pretty much every summer. Rarity when it doesn’t. If it’s a particularly bad year we can have dirty rain that will leave everything coated with dirt IF it does rain.
