Gas Bandit's Political Thread V: The Vampire Likes Bats

Really? It'd surprise me, really... Sign of weakness to replace him this quickly.
Though it might shuffle the news attention back to T instead of the democrats. In that way the timing was pretty good for Joe pulling out - the RNC just almost instantly disappeared.
Not to mention an assassination attempt that happened....last week. How in the world does that fall out of the news cycle so quickly?

As I mentioned in the other thread, we have sadly become so desensitized to shootings, no one really cares. He only got grazed. Not to mention, the shooter was of the GOP's own creation. How you keep that in the news without vilifying yourselves? He fits the average Republican to a t. They'd start alienating their diehard fanbase.

This. I saw a BUNCH of bots attempting to paint him as a leftist with pictures claiming he was trans, and of course his one-time donation to whatever antifa-linked charity it was when he was 16, and a bunch of other things like that, but it really didn't stick.

I gotta say, it's glorious watching Republicans flail around trying to suddenly change gears.

It's worth debating whether Biden should have stepped down sooner, but the manner and timing of it has been pitch perfect. I especially love how he announced it in a letter to a newspaper on a Sunday afternoon rather than a prime time televised event. He took the media that's shown him zero respect and cut them off at the knees.

Biden isn't perfect nor is he immune to criticism, but the way he stepped down shows his long experience in politics.

I don't know if they could've engineered a more antiTrump candidate. Kamala's career background is practically tailored to be Trump's direct nemesis, plus on top of that she is Black, Asian, and female, which should galvanize three demographics the GOP is actively attempting to suppress. At this point I would barely be surprised if she released a campaign attack ad of her performing her own version of "Not Like Us," and it would actually work.

A lot of left-leaning publications here taking their stab at the GOP. I'd like to believe a lot if it but it is more schadenfreude than honest insight, if I'm being honest with myself.

That said I have heard some whispers that Trump is actually pissed about it. Here's hoping!
Of course he is.

It pretty much kills most of what they built. Merch? Slogans? They spent months already hammering the age issue of Biden and now suddenly Trump is the oldest of the candidates. He even called himself a "young man" in a recent post because he can't stand the idea that he is now the old buffoon.

Even his VP pick was done on the calculation he was fighting Biden. Most candidates would pick a VP to fill in a hole in their support like Pence did with moderate Republicans, but the strategy was to focus on the agism and try to split the Dems, so he picked Vance as a favor to Musk and Thiel so they would help bankroll him. With Biden out he is now stuck with Vance, who is only loved by people that already love Trump while Dems are collecting together.

Memos are already flying out trying to point out things like her laugh of all things, but most Trump supporters are sexist assholes and want Trump to call her a cunt who sucked off men to get her position and even Trump knows those types of attacks are going to be risky to anyone not in the MAGA sphere.

The fact Kamala is already polling two points ahead of him, even after two huge events that usually boost numbers (attempted assassination and RNC) is a big red flag for his hail Mary to stay out of prison.

The leopards are starting to feast on each other. You know he is only doing this because Trump is already trying to find a way to dump Vance behind the scenes.

Nah he's doing this because he doesn't want to give 180 million dollars away and couldn't care less about fucking over other people. If this was just because Trump might want to dump Vance then he'd use the money as leverage and spend it as long as Trump toes the line.

Of course, this isn't factoring the Thiel of it all. He also wanted Vance and while he's a piece of shit, his checks do clear.

"Terrible pole numbers" makes it sound like he's not pulling in enough tips down at the strip joint and oh Lord that is an image I did NOT need in my head what was I thinking.

If parents deserve extra votes because they care about their children's future, then an 18 year-old's vote should count for four times as much as a 60 year-old's, because a younger person has a much longer life expectancy, and people over ~75 shouldn't get to vote at all, because they've got no future to care about.
