[Movies] MCU: Phase 5 - To Kang or Not to Kang

Also, just to check, isn't Sentry basically in the Hulk or Thor's tier in the comics? Or even higher? So if Sentry is meant to be the antagonist for this film, how are these guys supposed to be able to do anything to him? Maybe they disable him through his agoraphobia?
Yes, and isn’t that the point? It’s like saying Thanos is so powerful, how could the Avengers ever stand a chance against him?

Also, the MCU essentially defanged both Thor and Hulk, so I imagine The Sentry also won’t be the near-cosmic level threat he is usually portrayed as in the comics.

Fair points indeed. I guess we'll see.

It's just that having Sentry as the antagonist reminded me of the first Suicide Squad trailer, where Waller said something like, "If Superman decided to come down and lift the roof off the White House, who's going to stop him?" And I thought, "Not these guys, that's for sure."

This could either end up feeling like the first Suicide Squad movie, or it could end up feeling like the first Avengers movie. I hope it's the latter but I fear it may be the former.

Sentry is basically Marvel's version of Superman, at least in power level. Though whether the movie will do the same is hard to say. Though, if you know Sentry's story, you can probably guess the twist of this film will be null in void.

I remember the New Avengers comics with Sentry learning who he is. They show him a bunch of Bronze Age comic books featuring him and even bring in one of the comic book writers. And then the combined Fantastic 4, X-Men, and Avengers hold the Void back while Emma Frost breaks into Bob's psyche and revives his memories.

I can picture the Thunderbolts trying to unscramble Bob's brain, and so they have him play a '90s side-scroller arcade game like the old Avengers or X-Men games except he's one of the characters. Maybe they could bring in Kevin Feige or the Russo brothers playing themselves, wondering how one of their old creations is sitting there in front of them. Better yet, bring in Bob Iger just because his presence in a popular film would cause Gov. Desantis to lose his mind.

Remember what they did to Ultron. An extinction level malevolent AI that is impossible to completely kill off and root out 100%, probably one of the greatest perpetual threats Earth has ever faced.... defeated in melee combat ONCE AND FOR ALL.

I really liked Spaders performance as Ultron and hope they'll bring him back

I mean, if you take out the ONCE AND FOR ALL, that's just comic book accuracy.
