Yeah. As previously discussed in another thread, the way the amendment is worded, the only 2 presidents it could apply to would be Trump and Grover Cleveland.

The whole "it's just a wave, don't get worked up" defense is also just....so lazy.
Yeah, there are still pictures of Harris, or Clinton, or Obama, making what looks like a Nazi salute - and if you see them in a moving context, they're a wave.
These are videos of guys (Musk same shit different actor) doing a full-on Nazi salute. A wave wouldn't even make sense in context. Doesn't matter, bots and idiots will just repeat it ad nauseam.

If the French Nazi party tries to distance itself from you, you know the European market isn't quite ready for your brand (...yet, unfortunately).

There's an even easier metric. Whenever someone who isn't a Nazi does something that might be confused for a Nazi salute, their response is to loudly proclaim it's not and that they never would. Not coyly shrug their shoulders and go "I don't know, maybe"

lol, I'm going to die in the next four years and my only hope are people making jokes about a 51st state. That privilege of not having to view America as the rest of the world does was really nice. I'm posting here because it's entirely related to this, but everyone I know, meet or talk to anywhere is so on edge. No one can focus on anything. The tension is so thick here. It legitmately feels like facing down the barrels of a gun, which I know some of you know what that feels like. The only thing I can compare the feeling I have right now is when I had a knife pulled on me on duty one night.

It's genuinely baffling to see even the people who generally understand Trump's vitriol shrug and pass his comments about Canada off as a joke. Motherfucker has been serious about every single hateful, harmful idea he's spewed forth, whether he decided to say them straight or pretend they're jokes for a bit first. He legitimately has designs on taking over Canada, the same way he really does intend to stay in power past the 'legal' limits, and deport everyone he can, and punish his enemies, and everything else he's said he'll do, and it's exhausting listening to even the people who don't approve of it also go out of their way to dismiss or minimize how serious it is.

Maybe it isn't realistic, maybe he'll be talked out of committing resources to it somehow, but can we at least not pretend that it's an overreaction to take his threats seriously?

I think Greenland and Ukraine are in more danger in the short term and all that, and I don't think T is young enough/fit enough to live long enough to make it all come true, and in that sense I'm not that worried for Canada, relatively speaking.
But I absolutely do believe he seriously means it.

There's a point in the War of the Worlds soundtrack right after the first cylinder impacts and starts to decimate the local populace where the narrator speaks of how "It seems totally incredible to me now that everyone spent that evening as though it were just like any other. From the railway station came the sound of shunting trains, ringing and rumbling, softened almost into melody by the distance. It all seemed so safe and tranquil." He wakes up the next morning and "...[runs] to the railway station to buy the paper. Around me, the daily routine of life--working, eating, sleeping--was continuing serenely, as it had for countless years."
And the thing keeping me from yelling, "Don't you people see? Don't you see what's happening right now?" is that I already know that no, as a matter of fact they don't see. To them, this is just another episode of Survivor or The Surreal Life (or even The Apprentice)--a disconnected show happening to people who are only quasi-real, and safely contained within the glowing rectangle on their wall/on their desk/in their pocket, where it cannot possibly escape and ruin THEIR lives.

And I'm back. Nothing really noteworthy happened. Maybe two or three people more than usually at this time but like always no waiting time.

Chaos erupts at legislative town hall in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

A woman was asked to leave because she opposed Republican views, and when she refused three unidentified people in plainclothes dragged her out and illegally detained her, while some in the crowd cheered. A woman was dragged out of a building by men who refused to identify themselves, and the crowd cheered.

While this was happening the emcee mocked her, calling her a "little girl", saying “We’ve got to be a little aggressive with some of these folks here. Your voice is meaningless right now. ... I can talk over all of you.”

Coeur d'Alene town hall security detail remains mystery

" The identities of the men who dragged a woman out of a legislative town hall in the Coeur d’Alene High School auditorium on Saturday remain a mystery, with event organizers claiming no knowledge of who arranged the security detail or which company was used. "
...
"Jamie Haas, who represents precinct 208 on the central committee and sits on the group’s legislative committee, told The Press she didn’t know who provided security for the event. 'I don’t think there’s anyone who coordinated it,' she said. 'I’ve never personally met (the security detail) at all. The legislative committee never talked about it or voted on it or signed any contracts.' ”

This is Nazi shit, and it's going to spread if people don't stand up and stop it.

So this is the type of thing the second amendment was invented for, right? Just checking.
Just gonna leave this here:
