So, we have a house rule...if there are girls over, the bedroom doors stay open. Callistarya's youngest son has some female friend over he just met recently. I was in my bedroom practicing the whistle. I hear him shut his door kinda quietly. I gave them 10 minutes, and then opened it without warning. Teenage embarrassment is so hilarious

I've mentioned before how I was hoping to go to Haiti this year, in order to put together some training materials for my church which is hoping to send short-term missions there over the next five years.
Things have changed. I'm aspiring to put together a full-blown documentary webisode series using YouTube (if I can get a partner account), and/or Vimeo. My friend recently moved his wedding, meaning that I can reschedule the trip to summer, which gives me a lot more freedom and a lot more to work with (June is apparently when many of the Voodoo pilgrimages take place in Haiti).
I just got back my first email back from Haiti, from the director of a Coffee Farmer collective. Things look good. Just when I was feeling a little down about this, as if this is a project that is far too big for me, an email like this is like throwing new wood on the fire.

Cowboy Mouth is playing at the Mardi Gras festival! W00t! They've been saying that the Saints are going to win the Superbowl since their winning streak began last year. This concert is going to be a celebration! 
Fun times are fast approaching--the Xanadu ball, the best parades, and the fair... and now that I've finally been able to plan my observation times for the week, I can enjoy the anticipation.

I've seen Cowboy Mouth in concert, they put on a really fun show.

Yep yep. It's too bad their albums have been getting worse and worse. I love their show, but their songs are just kind of half-hearted and ridiculous now. I'm glad they play a lot of their good, old stuff. I still miss their old rhythm guitarist, too, Paul Sanchez. 
But he started going for more of the mellow acoustic stuff and didn't wanna keep up with the energy of the band anymore. I saw some videos of him at his last concerts, and he doesn't look all that thrilled to be there.- Status
