King's Bounty is awesome. Just don't be disappointed by the final battle - the end guy is a wuss. Whipped him in 1 round. Literally.

Now I'm playing Trine. Which is fucking awesome. I love these small scale indie style games. Lost Vikings ahoy.

Generally speaking it's more reliable than shuttles, which can be shot down mid-flight.
They can't be shot down if you get right alongside or immediately behind an enemy. For some reason the game doesn't require any travel time from those positions, and the shuttles reach the enemy ship as soon as they are fired. I toss some augmented engines (and/or a subspace teleporter) on a ship and after the Antarans advance on their frist turn I can get into position beside them right away.

Right now I have been playing Harvest Moon Island of Happiness for the DS. It is a decent game but it would be a lot better with different controls. This game suffers from having stylus controls crammed on to it. The d-pad controls were working just fine there was no need for them to attach the stylus controls onto the game. I can understand them wanting to make the game unique for the DS. But they didn't even do a good job with the controls. It is way to easy to perform the wrong action. For example I was trying to give a gift to someone and I clicked the stylus on them and my character threw the gift breaking it. I would have much preferred to use the d-pad controls. They should of at least left it to us to choose which control style we wanted but they don;t even offer the option to play using the d-pad. And it is really sad because the game would have been much better if they either let us use the d-pad controls or at least spent more time fine tuning the stylus controls.
I also tried HM:IOH but gave up quickly. I was very dissatisfied with the controls as well, and not at all impressed with how slow the game was. Yes it's a HM title, but that's still no excuse for it to take forever to get things done. It's been a while and I've forgotten any examples, but I just remember never accomplishing a damn thing and the days just getting shorter and shorter so you couldn't get any work done efficiently.

I've been instead playing the Rune Factory games which supposedly are "A Fantasy Harvest Moon". I highly recommend them as they combine the traditional HM farming, and some combat aspects as well. Plus the controls are set properly whereas the D-Pad actually moves you and the buttons perform your set actions. Plus if you really want to use the Stylus you can, and sometimes it even helps with farming as you can chart out a watering course.[/QUOTE]

Well based on your suggestion (as well as other reviews) I just got done placing my order for the first Rune Factory. So you better be right

Been playing Mass Effect so that I can get all the achievements I left till later and so that I can create the ultimate Shepard with all the best gear, abilities and allies.

Then I'll probably fire up Condemed 2 to try and get past the part I was stuck on. I don't even remember where it was I just remember saying "fuck this game"

I played a game on the PS2 a while back. Was some kind of convict, framed for killing his family locked up in a prison, the portal to hell basically opens up and he gets loose. Through the prison he fights with his imagination, the demons and has a karma system for a good/neutral/bad ending.

There was a sequel. I want to play it. I can't remember the name of the first one....

I'm hoping gamefly will throw the new Batman game my way.

Other than that, re-installed and have been playing back through StarCraft and WC3.

YES! Loved that freakin game.

Now to pick up the sequel.
The Sequel: Story isn't quite as interesting, but Gameplay is somewhat improved by making turning into your Monstrous Alter Ego worth doing (because it's powers evolve depending on how good or evil you are). Does have some tie-ins with the previous game, including reading your memory card for the ending you got last game and making that the opening you get (you can choose the other openings once you've beat the game once). Dr. Killjoy also makes a few appearances, doing his best to help you as he did in the previous game, which is awesome because he was my favorite character in The Suffering.

Resident Evil 5 and Aion mostly. Starting to hunt some achievements in RE5, mercenaries mode is fun as always.

I'm still playing Little King's Story. About 18 hours in, and I just rescued the third princess. (one of my ministers mentioned my polygamy might be going a bit too far)
This game is a lot harder than I expected, especially the boss fights (against kings and guardians) I think I've died at least 15 times already. Still a great game though.

WoW, trying to get my main to 80, finally.

Kingdom of Loathing.

A beta MMO that I cannot name but there was a style on the old forum related to it.

The new Professor Layton.

When I'm up to playing the 360 again, Looney Toons: Acme Arsenal (YOU HEARD ME) and Arkham Asylum. In that order because the first one has to go back to Gamefly.

Desperately waiting for Forza 3 for Xbox 360...

I'm planning on buying a steering wheel...

And constructing my own racing chair. Haven't been working on a project since my last joystick (springtime) and I got the urge to craft something again. :)

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Man, getting a character up to lvl60 was a chore.

Then I read on the Mass Effect Wiki that only the choices of your character will really matter when you import him/her to Mass Effect 2:

Carrying over files

* Decisions made in Mass Effect will impact its sequel, most notably those made on a personal level. Certain characters can return provided they weren't killed in the first game. Casey Hudson has recommended keeping saved games from the original Mass Effect. You will be able to carry over your characters from the original Mass Effect.
* Due to massive gameplay redesign, your level will not transfer over to Mass Effect 2 and you'll start out with basic abilities. [2][3]
* Imported characters will be able to choose a different class at the start of Mass Effect 2 if desired.
* The physical appearance of imported characters can be changed at the start of Mass Effect 2 if desired.[4]
* If you had more than one file in the original Mass Effect the next one will ask you which file to play as.

- Starcraft ... again.
- Rock Band 2
- SMT Persona 3 FES
- Xenogears
- I have the new Professor Layton, but I haven't gotten a hold of my DS for a while

Oh that is bullshit.

I don't even know if my tech warrior who can use lift and throw is legit but I wanted to play through it.

Oh well I still need to get the last of the achievements.

Does anybody know if you have to beat Virlomire in order to get Kaiden or Ashley's achievements?

Probably not, but you'd probably have to do pretty much every sidequest beforehand, with the squad member in question in your party.

I remember when I got Liara's achievement, I'd gone straight for her after becoming a Spectre, and only got the achievement on Ilos after doing every side quest. Assuming you do everything else in the game before going to Virmire, that'd make your next stop Ilos. So if my estimates are correct, you'd be able to get the Ashley/Kaiden achievement on Virmire, or just before.

Had an Xbox night with a friend of mine, so got a chance to sample all sortsa games:

Street Fighter IV: Pretty much the same as the others, but with better graphics. I was never a big fan of the series, but it was still pretty fun. We basically played enough matches to run through all the characters once and that was pretty much it.

Legends of Wrestlemania (or is it Wrestling?): Anyway, really fun wrestling game with all sorts of the classic guys. I was disappointed that Big Bossman's "Hard Time" theme wasn't on there and instead, was his generic one he had when he came back during the Attitude era. Still pretty fun, but not one I'd go out of my way to play on my own.

Fight Night Round 4: Hot damn. Never been a fan of boxing or boxing games (aside from Punch Out and this old boxing sim on PC), but I could see myself getting hooked on this. Really neat system, using the right stick to punch and the left to move. Even if I'm not a boxing fan, I could see myself buying this one for cheap when I get the PS3.

Still, lotsa good fun between two very old friends and some video games (something we used to do when we were kids).
