I recently took my first swig of alchol last fall semester when I started attending the college I'm currently attending.

Drinking isn't exactly for everyone and while I dont mind a nice drink now and then I don't prefer it unless I have a good meal that includes wine with it.

Besides that I dont like getting drunk all the time like my college dorm buddies do.

I am a big fan of Bulleit, Jack Daniels/Gentleman Jack(this might be my TN Pride showing through though), and Jameson's
This post makes me like you.

I love Whiskey, either straight or with Coke or Pepsi. I haven't had a chance to try Gentleman Jack yet because I am not 21 and none of my friends drink it. But Jack Daniels, Crown, and Chivas are all yummy yummy in my tummy.

This thread makes me want to update my whisky menu. And yes whisky is a gift from the Gods and truly the water of life.

I still prefer a bottle of red whine to whisky whisky's just not my thing

You have an infection in your fucking head! Go to the dentist NOW!

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Wait, infection? Dammit, I have to read the first page before assuming I know what is going on!

Dammit, Mav, go to the dentist and get that taken care of. An abscessed tooth can kill you, for Christs sake.

You made that sound like you're self-medicating; if that's the case, you're probably not helping yourself.

Dude, if you can go to a dentist, go to a dentist. It's one thing to have a swig to tide you over until you to the dentist, it's something else entirely to not go to the dentist.

Cheap vodka is a-okay, but the cheapest rum, whiskey, etc is just plain torture.
I've had a $5 bottle of King's Bay (golden rum), so bad it came in a plastic bottle, for months, just because it's terrible.
It's bearable mixed, nevertheless.

Tips to deal with terrible liquor
1. Get it as cold as possible
2. Tiny tiny TINY sips
3. Go slow, it gets easier as you become more and more drunk

Your body tells you alcohol is the worst tasting thing you've ever had because of the same reason most kids don't like vegetables, but don't mind it once they grow up.

Fermented liquid, much like bitter vegetables, would typically be dangerous from a animal survival standpoint, so your body tells you it doesn't like it.

However, the more you drink it, the more your body becomes accustomed to it, and slowly produces less dramatic distaste, as it learns it's okay for your body (excluding alcohol poisoning)

I disagree, cheap vodka is not filtered as well and tends to lead to bad hangovers the next day compared to other kinds.

Hawkeye for example... fucking shit smells and tastes like rubbing alcohol (I haven't drank rubbing alcohol but the taste is like the smell) and will give you a bitch of a headache the next day... but hey what do you expect when you pay like $10 for a handle.

Properly hydrated, I've never gotten headaches from the cheapest vodka I can find. Then again, I've never tried drinking an excess amount in one sitting.

I remember on Mythbusters that they covered filtering Vodka. There is VERY little chemical difference, if any, between Top shelf vodka and bargain basement vodka (of similar proof). Despite this, a professional taster accurately rated them from cheapest to most expensive, when the machine couldn't, and could also tell which vodka was filtered and which wasn't. So really, it's down to minute impurities in the vodka to determine it's "quality".

To me, all alcoholic drinks taste like petroleum. I can't enjoy the taste of any of them, because they all contain alcohol, which tastes as bitter as the poison it is. Yes, you can disguise the taste of the alcohol somewhat using sugar, but then you're basically drinking treacle, and if you're going to do that, you may as well just buy a lemonade.

Most dentist now offer payment plans. You might want to look into that with your dentist.

Also, if there is a dental college near where you live they may take patients to practice on at a low cost. I know the idea of being a practice dummy isn't appealing, but your tooth really needs attention.

I'm completely spoiled when it comes to whisky. After living in Scotland, I got used to drinking top-shelf Scotch, and I can barely tolerate most of the swill we have here in the States. Give me a bottle of Dalwhinnie and I'll be a very happy girl.

Good lord man, you can't let something like this slide on for weeks on end, an infection in your jaw can easily travel to the brain. Like what was mentioned earlier, speak with the Dentist's Office about setting up a payment plan, or get the dental work and run (won't actually work).

Are you on speaking terms with your parents? I'm not caught up on everyone's various parental relationships but hopefully they can help out. And I'm pre-emptively apologizing just in case your parents are deceased or else indisposed.

Dude. Your tooth is rotting from the inside out. You are in for possible blood poisoning if you don't take care of it, and in some cases patients don't make it to the ER soon enough for blood poisoning.

Screw the cost. They will treat you and they will bill you over time.

THIS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU PUT OFF FOR A SILLY REASON SUCH AS "I CAN'T AFFORD IT."

Course now this thread has me concerned for the weird crackling sounds that my right makes when I move it. And then emits a loud crack, like a knuckle, every so often.
