My wife wants to travel there and I've always told her about the people that I know from every corner of the globe.

So whose couch can we crash on in Ireland? (When we go there. In a few years. Once the kids leave.)

Not from there. But lived there for a year.

I'm still trying to say "knife" and "wife" properly instead of "knoife" and "woife".

I know your head aches; I know you're tired; I know your nerves are as raw as meat in a butcher's window. But think what you're trying to accomplish. Think what you're dealing with. The majesty and grandeur of the English language, it's the greatest possession we have. The noblest thoughts that ever flowed through the hearts of men are contained in its extraordinary, imaginative, and musical mixtures of sounds. And that's what you've set yourself out to conquer, Eliza. And conquer it you will.

Since when is the gaelic dialect accent mixed up with Liverpool?
Hey, I'm just trying to write what it sounded like. And yes, I seriously had such pronunciation issues when I tried to speak 'correct' English.

Strangely, almost everyone I met mistook me for an American at first.

Look at him! A prisoner of the gutters, condemned by every syllable he utters. By rights he should be taken out and hung for the cold blooded murder of the English tongue.

"Rrroooiiiiiiigggghht" HEAVENS! What a noise!

In fact, you avoid talking to Finns whenever possible, but basically Finn DNA is not compatible with Jazz.

Where do you think the Scousers' got their accent?

Also Scouse would probably be more like "nighf" and "wighf". If you can imagine such a thing.

A lot of people mentioned My Fair Lady, which is what Family Guy was mimicking, I say Halforums did just fine.
Only LB made a reference. The rest went off of his, thinking My Fair Lady. So he was subtle.

Halforums does not do subtle.
