Remember when Conan sold The Tonight Show on Craigslist? This time he's selling....HIMSELF!!!

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cas/1558679241.html

- Tall, slender redhead available for nighttime recreation.

- 6’4”, completely ripped, VERY Caucasian.

- Drapes match the carpet.

- Currently homeless, must meet at your place.

- Can go a whole hour (with scheduled breaks every 7-10 minutes).

- Fatties welcome.

- Not afraid to take two people at once, and then a musical guest.

- NOTE: If you want me to perform after midnight, it'll cost you!
Bahaha, how'd you discover that?

He showed it last night on his monologue. But after I posted the link and the screen grab Craigslist took it down. So you can really only see it here!

Looks like Conan will make out OK. Sounds like he'll get $40 million and be able to go somewhere else in the fall. He may not be able to badmouth NBC over the whole deal though.

If I were him I'd sign with someone else, tell NBC to keep their money and badmouth them each chance I got.

I will be sad to see his show go. I will miss The Max Weinberg 7, who are by far the best band on late night tv. I hope he can somehow keep everyone together. I need to figure out someway to stick it to NBC.

It probably depends on whether Conan stays in LA or not. As far as I know, Andy has been living in LA for years now, and that the Tonight Show films there is the only reason he was able to join Conan again.

....Shadazz is a Leno supporter!! Surely that's grounds for instant bannification, right? RIGHT?
Normally I'd say yes. But read her post again. She's a Team Coco person.[/QUOTE]

Correctamundo! I'm Team Coco. I meant follow Conan anywhere he goes.

edit: Since we're on the topic of late night show hosts, I've always though Steve Carell would make an awesome one. Just my two cents.

Thought I'd toss out one last note regarding the late show issue, a comment from Jay Leno's mouth, back in 2004

Jay \\"I want it back\\" Leno- 2004 said:
Time went by - there's all talk about Conan O'Brien, will he go to ABC will he go to one of these other networks. And they came to me and they said, \\"We don't want to lose Conan O'Brien.\\" And I said, \\"Okay, what does that mean?\\" And they said, \\"We think Conan would be a good replacement\\" - as I do - Conan is a gentleman, funny, the hottest late-night guy out there [applause]- and I said, \\"You know something - I don't want to see Conan go anywhere else.\\"

I'll be 59 years old...5 years from now, that's 12,000 shows, I'm not going anywhere tomorrow. And I said, \\"You know, there's really only one person who could have done this into his 60s, and that's Johnny Carson. And I think it's fair to say, I'm no Johnny Carson.\\" [\\"Awwww\\" from crowd.] No no no. So I called up
my buddy Jerry Seinfeld and said, \\"Jerry, what do you think?\\" And Jerry quit his show when it was the most popular. And I'm proud to say this show has been #1, we will keep it #1, and then in '09 I'll say, \\"Conan - take it over, it's yours.\\"

Because you know, you can do these things until they carry you out on a stretcher, or you can get out when you're still, you know, when you're still doing good — I'm not quitting show business! — but I realized, I'm not spending enough time with my cars. [Laughter] But anyway, this is not tomorrow, it's five years from today, and I want to say, I don't think there's a better choice — because, you know, when I took this show over, boy, there was a lot of animosity, between me and Dave and who's gonna get it — and quite frankly, a lot of — well, good friendships were permanently damaged.

And I don't want to see anybody ever have to go through that again. 'Cause this — you know, this show is like a dynasty. You hold it, and then you hand it off to the next person. And I don't want to see all the fighting, and all and \\"who's better?\\"and nasty things back and forth in the press. So, right now, here it is: Conan — it's yours. See you in five years, buddy. Clear enough? Enough said? All right.

Letterman's take on it last night was pretty good.

He laid into Leno for sticking around instead of going to another network if he really didn't want to leave TV. Poor Fallon, Letteman couldn't remember his name so he called him Lonnie Donigan....

NBC to Conan: We shouldn't have to pay for your staff. Your leaving is the reason these 200 people are out of work. All of this posturing is nothing more than a PR ploy.

Me to NBC: Fuck off.

http://money.cnn.com/2010/01/20/news/NBC_returns_fire_against_Conan/index.htm?hpt=T2

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- NBC fired back at Conan O'Brien Wednesday as negotiations between the outgoing host of \"The Tonight Show\" and the network stalled over how much O'Brien's staff would be paid under a potential severance deal.

\"It was Conan's decision to leave NBC that resulted in nearly 200 of his staffers being out of work,\" a network representative said in an emailed statement. \"We have already agreed to pay millions of dollars to compensate every one of them.\"

O'Brien is reportedly close to signing a $40 million deal to walk away from \"The Tonight Show,\" which he has hosted since June. The network tried to push the show to a later time slot.

But talks have been held up by disagreements over, among other things, how much the show's staff is entitled to as well.

Gavin Polone, O'Brien's manager, told the New York Times that some wrangling over staff compensation was to be expected given the dismal job market. But, he added, \"We're fighting to do better for them.\"

The weeks-long dispute has roiled the entertainment industry and galvanized fans of the show, who held rallies in cities across the nation Tuesday in support of O'Brien.

According to NBC, O'Brien raised compensation issues a few days ago, and it is only one of many points still being negotiated.
\"This latest posturing is nothing more than a PR ploy,\" the NBC representative said.

The rebuke comes one day after O'Brien took the network to task during his nightly monologue, saying \"NBC is headed downhill faster than a fat guy chasing a runaway cheese-wheel.\"

O'Brien is widely expected to cede the show later this week. \"I'm just three days away from the biggest drinking binge in history,\" he said Tuesday night.

So NBC is trying make O'Brien look bad for "leaving" and potentially making 200 people losing their job? What if the show dies?? then 200 people will be out of the job anyways.

I posted the video where Leno made that statement earlier in this thread. Someone really should show him that, the class-less douche.

Looks like the deal was made. Conan once again is paying his staff out of his own pocket. So much for just being a PR stunt.

"In the end, Conan was appreciative of the steps NBC made to take care of his staff and crew and decided to supplement the severance they were getting out of his own pocket," Polone told TheWrap. "Now he just wants to get back on the air as quickly as possible."

Out of that story I thought this part was interesting:

In any case, NBC's exit package with O'Brien will buy -- at least for a while -- the host's silence. With the deal signed, O'Brien has agreed to a short period of time in which he can't give any media interviews or slam NBC publicly. NBC has also agreed to a media blackout.

He will be able to make NBC jokes on any new show he might host -- though the Peacock always has the option to sue for defamation if it wants to. This shouldn't be a problem for O'Brien, however, since the host is said to not to be interested in continuing his recent on-air NBC bashing or in getting into any future spats with the network.

Did you guys see the bit he did with the Bugatti Veyron last night?

Oh man, talk about a "screw you" to NBC... He literally just presented a Veyron, one of the most expensive cars in the world, with mouse ears and whiskers while the original master recording of the Stones' "Satisfaction" played. The sole reason? Making NBC pay 1.5 million dollars for the 20-second bit.

The most hilarious part is that they edited it out of the Hulu broadcast.

I wish I knew what they were saying. Very bizarre to say the least.
Huh, that was made by a Taiwanese newspaper. I could translate the whole thing, but I don't know how to edit videos so I can't put the translated subtitles in the correct places. And if I just post a translated transcript it'll lose a lot, without the corresponding images on screen.
