Minor victory thread

Well... my lemon butter cookies came out delicious. So for Jake's birthday, I have a hard copy of The Divine Comedy, a homemade L4D2 card featuring Ellis rattling off a Keith/birthday story, and delicious homemade treats! Now it's time to take off!
How did Keith end up horribly injured in this story, if you don't mind my asking?
It was a bit silly... but he somehow acquired a flamethrower and tried to light his birthday candles with it. First it was funny, then it got sad, then it got funny again. Jake laughed, anyway, so mission accomplished. :)
Yeah, my buddy Keith would try to light birthday candles with a flamethrower.

Sounds like a good card.

I had a phone interview today. Hard to tell how it went. I asked questions and answered them, but I really have no feeling of goodness or badness.

Congrats on the phone interview Fade. I just received an invitation for a phone interview this afternoon. After a month of of spiraling despair about the lousy academic job market, it was a real shot in the arm. Even if I don't land this gig, I feel better having been considered somewhere!

I'm a reader for a publishing house, and today I got an e-mail asking me if, even if I was reading the fourth biography in a row, I would be able to read 1900 pages of good science fiction instead.

Wooo!

And this may become an epic win if I get well payed ^_^

Been bald since January..... :(

Anyway, it was waaay too close, I swear I've never been anywhere as hot and full of smoke as the front of the stage.

Work Christmas party tomorrow! There were 30 cases of beer and 6 cases of wine in the storage room earlier today. I'm sure I'll do plenty of work.

This year the X-mas exchange for the guys in my family is a "6 pack of extraordinary beer". Since this is something I know a little about, I'm actually excited to go and show my family what a good beer is.

I get a feeling I'll get stuck with something almost undrinkable. Probably Burning River.

Phone interview went really smoothly. I think I'd be a good fit. It will probably boil down to the competition on this one. Here's hoping I can edge them all out!

I just spent a more or less pleasant evening in a gay night club.

Scratch one item off my "things to do before I die" list.

We discovered our rats' brother was the last of the litter in the pet store, all the others being adopted, so we brought him home last night. He has to stay separated for now, but he knows his brothers are nearby and in time we can let them around each other again.

I also spent an evening at a gay night club recently, and there was even a pretty cute guy that seemed to like me! I wasn't interested, but it was nice to feel attractive!

At least it wasn't the other way around...
Definitely. Spending an evening of gay in a night club is not on my list.
I was referring to a gay night club spending a more or less pleasant evening in you. :unibrow:
And it was the best night of your life...

I've had this experience too. More than one guy told me I was the best lookin' dude there, for all the good it did. :p

That just cracks me up, it really does. But perhaps I shouldn't take it seriously. After all, I aim to please.
