Except that Ovechkin doesn't back check or block shots. He may be one of the best pure offense players in the game right now, but Cherry prefers grinders who never give up no matter how often people have given up on them. Its funny because if Ovechkin was Canadian, he would be Cherry's favorite player of all time by far. He plays the exact game that Cherry loves.
No, the shoving guys face-first into the boards for no reason and you and your coach getting all crying like a little bitch about it that's a total affront to the sport.People take Don Cherry's idiocy seriously? He's like the Glenn Beck of hockey...
I'm not wild about Ovechkin's celebrations either, but it's not like they're a total affront to the sport.

 Called it!
I thought Ovi looked pretty good tonight, actually. Maybe he was trying to do too much, but I can't really blame him when a couple of their other 'stars' were nowhere around. It was Semin and Green disappearing that really killed Washington.
On the plus(?) side, it really seems that leaving Green off the Canadian Olympic team was the right choice, and not just because they won gold with the roster they had. He can't score against teams that are committed to defense, and he was the one who got beat on the second Montreal goal.
Go wings , yay for Washington losing, now maybe Montreal can beat Pittsburg and make this a perfect off-season.
And over and over and over and over...
I can watch this over and over and over and over and over....
I wish. That guy's laugh is awesome. Was that you laughing at Ovie in the video, Chaz?

Quit the bitchin. If your team had finished the series in 5 games you would have had the long break too, the schedule is mapped out before the series are set and have been that way for YEARS! This isn't the damned NBA and their 3 week long first round.1. Habs played a Game 7 less than 48 hours before this game. WHY? The other Eastern series had teams who didn't play in more than 5 days. The league could have scheduled the 2nd round better so that a team wouldn't have been gassed and on top of that Game 2 plays in less than 48 hours again. This is bullshit. NHL loves Pittsburgh much? I think so

1. No team gets a break from a game 7 series game. 2. If you're going to start blaming refs then the Capitals should have won 1st round. 3. Cooke completed a perfectly legal hit. 4.Penguins are contracted to stay in Pittsburgh for at least 30 years. 5. Pittsburgh has educated fans unlike the yokels in Washington, which is why we don't get fired up at every whistle unless there's a reason to.Champions shouldn't gloat when they take out other team's best player's knee.

2. Chris Fucking Lee. Shitty calls all night due to Evelki "Air Dive" Malkin, "roughing" penalties on players who go after a little fucken bitch who ran after a cheapshot on our star player. Drop the fucken gloves, you fucken puke.
3. Cooke taking Markov out of the series with a dangerous hit. No penalties and no suspension to be coming. How many star players can a player take out before he's held accountable? This guy will get stabbed in Montreal. I bet it wouldn't have been the same if it was O'Byrne taking out Crosby in a similar hit. Right now, I want Lapierre to take Crosby out of the series with a knee on knee if we go down because of this. Gutless puke. Dishonorable motherfucking assholes.
And you guys STILL didn't take us out of the game from all the Refs grandstanding.
PS: Your crowd fucken sucks. It's sad Washington had a more interested crowd. No wonder this team has many issues staying in this city. If it wasn't for sucking a few years on purpose a few years back and getting yourself star players left and right due to first round picks (a system they were forced to change BTW, thanks to "ThePitts"burg) this team would have been called the Las Vegas Penguins or the Hamilton Penguins today. Shitty city. And they aren't TOP 10 in the league for sellouts... with all those talent? Pathetic. We'll have this conversation in 5 years when all your players are gone and the fickle fans don't attend games and once again Mr. Lemieux is on the news "trying to sell the team to other cities" lol
What now motherfuckers? HABS WIN.
Aww you think all series are won based on skill and luck, I tell you right now a power goalie and some lucky breaks and a series can take a nasty turn. I would give the wings as an example this year, but they haven't been exactly dominating and our goalie is the great trampoline of rebounds. But previous years I have seen goalies stand on their head when we out shoot them 3-1 and out scoring chance them by the same number.1. No team gets a break from a game 7 series game. 2. Why the Pens lost in Game 2:
Jordan Staal out. Mismanaged lines (Malkin skating around like an ogre). Too fancy in the offensive zone. Didn't capitalize on the powerplay.
That out of the way. Montreal had a fluke goal and a lucky breakaway. You did not dominate the game. Bottom line, Pens played slightly laxed and the Habs got lucky
He'll get better. Halak was the same last season.Jay: Ya but he has been so horrible with rebounds that it really means he has to glove save it or they have at least another 30 shots on him.
