Its funny because if Ovechkin was Canadian, he would be Cherry's favorite player of all time by far. He plays the exact game that Cherry loves.

Except that Ovechkin doesn't back check or block shots. He may be one of the best pure offense players in the game right now, but Cherry prefers grinders who never give up no matter how often people have given up on them.

People take Don Cherry's idiocy seriously? He's like the Glenn Beck of hockey...

I'm not wild about Ovechkin's celebrations either, but it's not like they're a total affront to the sport.

No, the shoving guys face-first into the boards for no reason and you and your coach getting all crying like a little bitch about it that's a total affront to the sport.

What? You don't find it hilarious watching Bruce Boudreau get beat red and flaunt his triple chins at the ref while Grape Ape gets hauled off to the locker room for a cold shower and three game suspension?

You just pat them on the head and say "that's nice, dear"

But it's still an affront.

I went 2-2 in the East and 3-1 in the West, not bad.

My schadenfreudeness is now so large it has its own satellites. Oh I can't wait for tomorrow, if Ovie hits a reporter after losing in the Olympics what will he do after this!

:) Ohh those tears taste so good Ovie!

Note for next year; average players playing as a team beat superstars playing by themselves every single time. See Superbowl XXVI for reference on what to do right.

I thought Ovi looked pretty good tonight, actually. Maybe he was trying to do too much, but I can't really blame him when a couple of their other 'stars' were nowhere around. It was Semin and Green disappearing that really killed Washington.

On the plus(?) side, it really seems that leaving Green off the Canadian Olympic team was the right choice, and not just because they won gold with the roster they had. He can't score against teams that are committed to defense, and he was the one who got beat on the second Montreal goal.

Go wings :D, yay for Washington losing, now maybe Montreal can beat Pittsburg and make this a perfect off-season.

Semen is a half-rate player who always disappoints during playoffs. Yes, I think it's funny how he called Crosby a mediocre player and himself is a no show come playoffs.

Ain't gonna happen. Unlike the Craps, Pittsburgh doesn't depend completely on Crosby. Pinching him off won't work like it did for Grape Ape, especially since Sid can puck handle about a million times better. Only thing I'm worried about is Fleury. I really hope he steps it up and stones the Habs.

Ouch, and the Habs learn what it's like to play against real Champions.

Champions shouldn't gloat when they take out other team's best player's knee.

1. Habs played a Game 7 less than 48 hours before this game. WHY? The other Eastern series had teams who didn't play in more than 5 days. The league could have scheduled the 2nd round better so that a team wouldn't have been gassed and on top of that Game 2 plays in less than 48 hours again. This is bullshit. NHL loves Pittsburgh much? I think so.

2. Chris Fucking Lee. Shitty calls all night due to Evelki "Air Dive" Malkin, "roughing" penalties on players who go after a little fucken bitch who ran after a cheapshot on our star player. Drop the fucken gloves, you fucken puke.

3. Cooke taking Markov out of the series with a dangerous hit. No penalties and no suspension to be coming. How many star players can a player take out before he's held accountable? This guy will get stabbed in Montreal. I bet it wouldn't have been the same if it was O'Byrne taking out Crosby in a similar hit. Right now, I want Lapierre to take Crosby out of the series with a knee on knee if we go down because of this. Gutless puke. Dishonorable motherfucking assholes.

And you guys STILL didn't take us out of the game from all the Refs grandstanding.

PS: Your crowd fucken sucks. It's sad Washington had a more interested crowd. No wonder this team has many issues staying in this city. If it wasn't for sucking a few years on purpose a few years back and getting yourself star players left and right due to first round picks (a system they were forced to change BTW, thanks to "ThePitts"burg) this team would have been called the Las Vegas Penguins or the Hamilton Penguins today. Shitty city. And they aren't TOP 10 in the league for sellouts... with all those talent? Pathetic. We'll have this conversation in 5 years when all your players are gone and the fickle fans don't attend games and once again Mr. Lemieux is on the news "trying to sell the team to other cities" lol

Quit the bitchin. If your team had finished the series in 5 games you would have had the long break too, the schedule is mapped out before the series are set and have been that way for YEARS! This isn't the damned NBA and their 3 week long first round.

Naw this year was set up poorly, the wings had only 1 day off between game 7 and game 1, and only 1 day in between every game. They should have set it up so there was at least a tad more rest. Also even if Pittsburgh wins 20 straight Stanley cups Crosby is still a bitch.

What now motherfuckers? HABS WIN.

And we didn't even get all the freebies on the calls in the 3rd neither. News Flash! Crosby is still a little bitch. I hate they when close up the camera on him. He's alwayyyyyyyyys bitching and whining. Now that the Habs could actually REST for more than a night, let's see how much of a champion them Pens are in Game 3... which I'll be standing by in the Reds sections. I'll make sure to use my umbrella so that I don't get any Crosby tears on me.

As for you Sparhock, I don't give a shit about how it's been done in the past. I care about how it works now. It should be less about appeasing Mr. Buttman and more appeasing REAL hockey fans who don't need to watch hockey on Sunday afternoons. Break your shitty contract with NBC and put it on a real sports network and cater to your real fans and think about the quality on the ice. At one point, they showed what are the "afternoon" stats for both goalies and Halak played only 7 games... to Fleury's 58. Fucken Sad. PS: From what I read, they did an afternoon game because there's some kind of graduation ceremony tonight in the Lemon arena. Talk about having fucked up priorities.

1. No team gets a break from a game 7 series game. 2. If you're going to start blaming refs then the Capitals should have won 1st round. 3. Cooke completed a perfectly legal hit. 4.Penguins are contracted to stay in Pittsburgh for at least 30 years. 5. Pittsburgh has educated fans unlike the yokels in Washington, which is why we don't get fired up at every whistle unless there's a reason to.

Why the Pens lost in Game 2:

Jordan Staal out. Mismanaged lines (Malkin skating around like an ogre). Too fancy in the offensive zone. Didn't capitalize on the powerplay.

That out of the way. Montreal had a fluke goal and a lucky breakaway. You did not dominate the game. Bottom line, Pens played slightly laxed and the Habs got lucky.

Yeah, that's what Senators fans were chanting after Game 2. That series turned out awesome for Ottawa. :)

Aww you think all series are won based on skill and luck, I tell you right now a power goalie and some lucky breaks and a series can take a nasty turn. I would give the wings as an example this year, but they haven't been exactly dominating and our goalie is the great trampoline of rebounds. But previous years I have seen goalies stand on their head when we out shoot them 3-1 and out scoring chance them by the same number.

But honestly the best play of the post season is when the Andy Sutton destroyed your guy.

Fluke goal and a lucky breakaway? What the fuck is that drivel? A lucky breakaway? Did Cooke get a lucky breakaway too? Yo, man up FFS. Crosby's pass was intercepted and a tape to tape pass sprung Cammy who sniped one top shelf on Fleury. Being able to bat a PUCK with a stick into the net is no fluke. I bet if Crosby did it though you'd probably be swinging off chandeliers proclaiming it to be the goal of the year. I can take good comebacks but don't give me that drivel. Jordan is hurt? Boohoo. He's chicken shit compared to Markov.

PS: Love how Adams didn't get suspended on that hit. I bet if that was Lapierre on Crosby though, Lapierre would have been out of the playoffs for sure. Fucken double standards for the darlings of the league.

Anyways, watch game 3 and listen to the sound of real fans (PS : I'll be in attendance in the Reds).

Hey Crono, love that save from your goalie last night, that was a highlight reel of the year FOR SURE.

Jay: Ya but he has been so horrible with rebounds that it really means he has to glove save it or they have at least another 30 shots on him.

Chaz, are you seriously going to use Staal's injury to justify a loss at the same time as you're gloating about beating the Sens? Might want to think that one through, assuming you're meaning that the Pens are the better team.

Just a thought.

(Besides, it was game one that Ottawa won, not game two.)

He'll get better. Halak was the same last season.[/QUOTE]

I agree, just why I don't think this is the wings year, but you never know, he has done a stand up job in our wins, and fallen apart like a chinese motorcycle in our losses.
