They take their games very seriously. They think they're the most fun people in the world... with their stupid cold noodle salad and mediocre showtune CD collections... *grumble grumble*

Sorry... these people make me cranky, and I'm kind of stuck with them.

And if I seem bitter about her family, it's because she thinks they're so superior to anyone else. She's dumped on other people's families because they're not enough like hers. They're really weirdly drawn to one another and always have this sense of smugness, as if to say, "Who wouldn't want to hear about our 3-hour Apples to Apples tournament?!" Ugh. Plus they're hyper-conservative and intolerant and joke about carpet bombing the middle east.
Who wouldn't want to hear about her 3-hour Apples to Apples tournament? PIRATES! That's who! Just show up dressed as a pirate and berate them with piratical talk until they yield their plunder and pay for the coffee!

Yeargh!

Wait, is carpet bombing the middle east no longer funny?

Man, I've got to revamp my whole schtick, that was like, the foundation of all my funneh!

I just have to say we don't listen to show tunes or have board game tournaments but my family does make some delicious cold noodle salads. I just want to put that out there. DELICIOUS!

carry on.

Ah, but are they intelligent?

What would telling anecdotes from an Apples to Apples tourney even sound like?

"So then the word was 'Loud' and Annabelle Lee decided to put down 'Anne Frank' and I couldn't believe she did that. Talk about inappropriate. And of course, because it was Edgar judging, he gave her the card. It was total bullshit. I put down 'Explosions' and those things are actually loud and I totally should have won that hand." ?

Dude that's a terrible example. Anne Frank was loud as a motherfuck. You clearly never read "The Diary of Herbert Frank, or Just How Many Times Am I Going To Have To Tell Anne To Shut The Hell Up?".

Oh man that game is such bullshit, no one rewards my cleverness or wordplay, they reward dumbasses for being "lol so random!!1"

Yeah, tat's why I blame the game and not necessarily the players.

Because non-sequiturs are the easiest and laziest kind of humour and it tends to annoy the hell out of me because humour is very important to me and I pride myself on being genuinely funny.

:(

Humour is srs business.

Look, you can't play "Micheal Jackson" on everything and expect it to win every time. It gets old, move on.

Apples to apples is great! But trying to have some kind of high brow tournament out of it is idiotic. Really the game is about learning how other people think and how they will react to certain card combinations.

Then again, I always have fun even if I lose horribly.

I do not like this term "back order".

Part of my order shipped, but the other part is backordered. So now I'm wondering if I should cancel that part of the order and buy it elsewhere, though it'll ship later due to the holidays, or if I should wait it out, which could either be an indeterminate amount of time, or just a brief delay due to the holidays. Either way, it's gonna be a bit of a wait, and I feel like I could get screwed either way, either by a longer wait than I want, or buy losing my free shipping by making the purchase elsewhere when it would've shipped soon anyway.

Grargh.

I was going to rant about feeling like a testing ground for the cold and flu season, but my fever broke and I finally feel like I can sleep.

Consider this a post event rant.

Why is it that I can be at work, have on my name badge, be walking around greeting people and asking if they need any help with anything and still they will turn to me and say "Do you work here?" Do people randomly go into stores and ask people if they need help, but not work there? We're not a big town, not a big store and you just saw me help out somebody else... use your stupid little closed mind to notice what is happening around you you idiot!

same here, I was here at 7:30 AM cst and I have to close at 8:00 PM cst, there is no justice. I dont have an excuse to not work so everyone else is taking off and leaving the place in my care. FARKING BASTAGES!

Question of the day:
How many delicious yellow cake cupcakes with fantastic butter creme frosting can makare eat before becoming very ill?

Answer:

1 and a bite of another.

Lesson do NOT try to eat more than one cupcake :(

Working. Two reports down and only 2 hours into my shift, with no end in sight. And after what's looking to be a full shift today, I get to make the 9+ hour trek to Alabama.

Joy. Rapture. I LOVE the holidays. *wry grin*
