Yeah I joined Vice and Virtue because of this thread. I'll be adding you both soon.

Just took out the Scarecrow, got an achievement for not using consumables... didn't even know I could! -laugh-

Love the fact that I'm interacting with major names this early in the game though, really draws me into the world.

According to the devs by the time you hit level 30 you are on par with most anyone in the JLA or Society short of the big 3 of Bats/Sups/WW. So you have the right to hob knob with them. Just wait until you start doing the mentor missions and start taking on names like Jocker, Lex, and Circe....that reminds me...need to level my Superman mentored character...guess I got a weekend project!

It is a lot of fun. The "raids" we couldn't do yet (for my league) which is 8 person team for batcave (taken over or something and it is HARD)
The alerts (or mini raids) are 4 people. There is a hard version (which you get triumph mark) that is a lot of fun. Most of them can be done in 30 minutes or less (depending on the team and how well you are gear and work together) some take VERY long like the 3 hour watchtower run I did. I had to teach people how to beat the hacker.

I was playing tonight and came across this. I liked it so much I took a screenshot.

Location: One end of Crime Alley in Gotham.

Question:

Anyone want to do some hardmodes as a forum-only group this weekend or possibly all arrange a time to make lvl 1 toons, group, and power level through some quests?

I can bring a well-geared (but not tier geared) Healer/DPS or a poorly geared Controller to the table.

If we do something villian side I can bring in a poorly geared fire tank.

Was thinking Sat night around 8pm EST (or later depending on the timezones of others)

Actually just ran through there last night Ravenpoe, had the same reaction.

It's tempting but I've been burned on superhero MMOs before.

I'll check out some reviews when I have more time.

I neither liked CoH or Champions, and I can tell you that I will at least get a good 2-3 months of gametime off this one, it's really casual friendly (I play about an hour or two a day) and it satisfies my habit quite well. Haven't been on WoW for over a week and haven't had the urge to go back once yet.

I have a pretty good gear Healer (Sorcery with two tier 1 gear) Miaka Yuki and good gear controller (gadgets one tier 1 gear) Karin Aoi. I can run anyone and even do duo if needed :)
This Saturday is a maybe (tons of stuff like taking the car to the shop for maintenance) but will be on friday night.

I meant CoH and Champions.

At least I played CoH for a couple months, whereas Champions was crap from the get-go.

My wife won't play DCUO cause of the costume coloring feature. She loves the CoH method where you can pick and choose each piece and your color instead of having a theme.

Gears are pretty easy to get so far. Tier 2 is really where it is at :) Tier one is not too bad but if you run a lot of hard alerts, you can get some decent gears.
Tier 1 will boost your HP and Power but very little in terms of your class stats. My controller (gadgets) and Healer (sorcery) tier 1 only like 2 pieces really boost my restoration 40+ points (chest, legs) the other pieces I got from hard alert was already blue. Tier 1 are purple :) most of them boost my base states like +4 to +9 at most. It is not really a big upgrade.

Tier 2 on the other hand is a whole new class of upgrades :)

I'm almost positive you can color each piece...
you can color each piece on a base three color template you choose from.
I.E. if you choose Red, Green, Orange. then all your pieces can be chosen from those three unless you change your base template.

in CoH, your pants can be Orange, Green, Blue while your shirt can be Pink, White, and Black. You can't do that in DCUO :)

My schedule on are more evening but sporadic due to classes and family events :( I was on a lot on the snow days (2 weeks ago) and I'm usually on Monday and Tuesday nights and weekends (except this coming weekend got several stuff going on)

I will probably be on Friday since we are off that day YAY!

I have a level 7 toon named Srelg but I've never seen anyone else on.
I'm usually on between 10am-noon EST then in the evenings 7pm-8:30pm EST Sun-Weds.

Thurs-Sat I can be on at any time. There is no real pattern to my weekend game playing.

Just an update for anyone playing villain side of virtue and vice, be on the lookout for Dr Diablo, diabolical sorcerer.

I know I managed to get my first PVP kill gunning down a doctor something or other in the ring war and they were in similar costume. Weird.

Again, it's really worth buying if you want to add something to your daily gaming routine. It's so far, not something that cosumes my entire gaming day.

I just wanna fiddle with the character creation so much, and it's the only PC game I'll be playing for a while probably. Pokemon drops in early March but that'll be my handheld fix.
