Do they have lifetime sub?
Sadly they havent talked much on the pricing options in the beta forums. Would tell you if I could. SOE has waffled on this a little. Originally DCUO was going to be free to play, that has however changed to a subscription model, price point I believe has been set around $20 +/-.

#4

Chibibar

Ah... if they release a lifetime sub, I might join. I have a couple of lifetime sub (STO and Bloodlines) I wish I had gotten with LoTRO (I didn't have the money at the time) but oh well.

How robust is character creation?
I played city of heroes for a couple years (fun but repeatative), wanted to love champions but couldn't. If you have experience with either of these games how is it similar, how is it different aside from the obvious it's with DC characters?
Who are the characters you can mentor under?

Probably more to come as I think of them.

$20 dollars A MONTH?! That's more than WoW AND both of it's closest competitors in the Superhero market (City of Heroes and Champions Online). If they don't drop that down to AT LEAST $15, there is no way they will survive in the market.

Far:

So far this is a big beta tester complaint. Unlike other super hero MMOs you are stuck with a power set. Each power set has a role (Tank, Healer, or Crowd Control) All "classes" DPS. Aside from that complaint the big issue folk have had with character creation (and remember this is still a beta version) is that there is a lack in ability to color your costume pieces (your whole outfit is limited to a 3 color pallet you can choose from). Also there is a complaint with body types and hair as well as a lack of certain wardrobe bits (no trench coats). Some women (and men) are commenting on how the female models are "overly endowed" including the "small" stature model meant to represent teens and such (seriously the small female has DDD cups) Otherwise you can make a good range of characters and abilities though certain things wont be doable at launch (no atomic powers, lantern powers, or electricity) but are set for a later release.

Is it fun?
I think so. It is a game obviously made for casuals. This was posted on the beta forums and sums it up better than I can:

This game is obviously NOT being designed for the typical MMO player that has nothing to do but sit in a room in front of a computer for 8 hours a night for months on end. People who play the game like a reasonable person (5 -10 hours a week MAX) instead of a no-life social reject will find progress moves at a satisfactory rate. People that suck the content down like a crackhead with a fresh pipe are going to be disappointed.

Even casual players can eat up content rather quickly. The fact they are saying the game will not have enough content to satisfy most of the "harder" edge of player is usually a bad sign to me, because it means by the time you reach cap there will be nothing else to do. I hope they end up finding a good balance of content and ease of use.

#11

FnordBear

FnordBear

What it looks like is they are focusing on end game content from the get-go with raids, exploration, collection of costume pieces etc. There is also a good PVP element to it as well though thankfully I have come across no "forced PVP" quests etc. Like WoW used to (and still sometimes does) do.

What do you mean "stuck" in each power set?

Stuck meaning whatever power you choose is what you got. IE you pick fire ALL your powers are fire. No dipping in to other power sets etc.

Closest thing is picking your "weapon" once you hit level 10 you can spend skill points to improve and learn other weapons.

wow.. lets hope there isn't any creatures that are immune to "x" archtype. i.e. immune to fire.

That would suck.

#17

FnordBear

FnordBear

So far it seems that nothing is immune to anything.

#18

Jiarn

I loved the CGI that was posted a while back. What exactly is this game doing any different as far as gameplay wise from it's clones?

#19

FnordBear

FnordBear

For one thing it is an action mmo, there is no auto-attacking. You push button, you get attack. For another it is geared towards casuals, you can quickly reach cap and experience end-game content.

Lastly its DC and -feels- like DC.

#20

Jiarn

So no armies of color pallete swapped enemies, repetious quests at varying levels, and there is gear to strive for to keep the hamster wheel interesting?

#21

FnordBear

Enemies: Sorta. Your enemies change from mission to mission. Within a mission area its all cookie cutter.

Repetitious Quests: I think all MMOs have this

Gear: Gear of any level is awesome for costume collectors. Once you equip a bit of gear the art for it is saved in a tab for you to forever mix and match. At level 20 I still farm around level 5 zones for bits I dont have.

it is true that all MMO has this, but depending on HOW much a cookie cutter. There are ways to make it interesting (same mission but different scenery) mix up the quests a bit etc etc. I hate to compare with other MMO but WoW did a good job with this. CoH did ok job (lots of cookie cutter baddies BUT their powers do varies a bit so kinda make it interesting) LOTRO is pretty good. It is similar mission like "Go see this person" "Collect X items" "kill Y mobs" but made it interesting so it doesn't seem like it is grinding.

Edit: All MMO WILL have grinding, the trick is to make grinding fun.

#23

Jiarn

Pretty much mirroring what Chibibar said there.

Bad ex: City of Heroes
Good ex: WoW, Lotro

As for gear, collecting "costume pieces" for viewing doesn't really do it for me, I'm guessing this is another MMO where there isn't "stat" gear?

#24

FnordBear

FnordBear

I'm guessing this is another MMO where there isn't "stat" gear?
Incorrect. Most gear does have stats barring specific examples that are purely cosmetic. Otherwise it seems to follow the typical white/green/blue/whatever rarity scheme.

At least up til 20 (current cap on the preorder beta servers) Quest gear does a fine job of carrying you and is in fact usually better than mob-drop gear but usually not as good as boss-drop.

#25

Jiarn

So there is stat gear. That's definitely a difference from the clones. I might give it a look.

#26

Chibibar

Do you have Costume option vs Gear options? like LOTRO?

What I mean is that you can have a certain look regardless of gears but the stat gear still work (i.e. layer of outfits)

LOTRO has 3 layers
layer 1 - actual stat pieces that you wear. you can make certain item visible like helm, cape, boots, gloves, shoulder (vest ALWAYS shows)
layer 2 - costume 1 - you can wear a totally different outfit (even stats) but the stats don't count if you have this display.
layer 3 - costume 2 - same as costume 1
The downside is that you don't get the "costume" weapon. You only get costume clothing.
edit: only one layer can be display (instant switch back and forth) at any given time.

Does DC have this option? I wish WoW have this option (it might have but haven't gone back in game lately)

#27

FnordBear

Yes

And it applies to all gear including weapons.

I used to be a big CoH player a few years back. How would you compare it with this? Having read through the posts, I kind of like the idea of it being more casual focused. I also actually rather like the idea of one power = one set of powers.

I do too as long the enemies doesn't have immunities. I remember that some enemies do have some resist/immune to certain powers.

I agree, specialization really appeals to me.

FnordBear

FnordBear

Compared to COH: My experience with the game is rather limited so all I can say is it is effectively different games that happen to have superhero themes in common. Each has it's pros and cons. If you hardcore love COH and COL you may also love DCU...may hate it. My complaint with MMOs are that they arent casual friendly, DCU pretty much addresses that complaint so far in beta.

Little more break down on powers.

There are effectively three "classes" or "roles" as the game calls them

Tank: Take beating/keep agro
Healer: Heal beatings
Controller: Crow control

The traditional 4th class, Damager, is gone. All players are damagers and expected to participate in the righteous smackdown. Now on that note: You arent always a tank healer/ etc. You have to set your role as such. When you do so your damage goes down but you gain buffs to your role. Example: Healing role, you lose 35% damage but gain mega buffs to healing and some special power interactions. Similar things exist for tanks and controllers as well.

Your class roll is directly tied to your powers. IE if you pick "fire" you are a tank. Period. No picking any other role (aside from damager)

This is a list of all current power sets in the game:

Fire: Tank
Ice: Tank
Gadgets: Controller
Mental: Controller
Plants: Healer
Sorcery: Healer

Now each power set has two different "trees" of powers you can unlock as you level (new powers ever other level) now I have not fully played every power so I will detail a little bit about what I have played:

Fire: Fire has two power sets, Ignition and Immolation. Ignition powers tend to be direct effects like chucking balls of fire and such, it is more of a "ranged" power set. Immolation is more about AOE and agro grabbing. It is more of a "melee" power set. Now I put ranged and melee in quotes because some powers are AOE, some are ranged, some are melee, some are buffs, I use ranged and melee to deginate the best use I have found for them so far.

Iconic Powers: Starting at level 10 you can access iconic powers. These are optional powers not part of any power set that everyone has equal access to. These are things like heat vision, ice breath, amazonian deflection, hard light shields, etc etc. I say these are optional as depending on your play style and preffered loadout of powers on your action bar you may find little value in them.

Weapons: All characters pick a weapon type to fight with. Each weapon type has an associated skill tree that unlocks button press combos to pull of certain attacks. Many of these attacks are as good if not better than your actual power lists. Additionally ALL weapon groups are able to do ranged and melee attacks. Some are 50/50 with how good each is, some favor melee, some favor ranged. Some are illogically better at one or the other.

Brawling: Your basic unarmed/brass knuckles style. Can turn off weapon visuals for true barehand fighting.
Bows: Bows and trick arrows.
Dual Pistol: Fighting with paired pistols. Against all logic this is mostly a melee style but with alot of invested points gets some potent ranged abilities.
Dual Melee: Fighting with paired melee weapons
Hand Blast: This is a catch-all hybrid melee/ranged set for characters that shoot stuff out thier hands like ironman etc. You can even turn off the weapon visuals to get a good "bare hand blasting" look.
Martial Arts: This is good old kung-fu/karate/ninjastuff. Like hand blasting and brawling you can turn off the weapons to go bare handed.
One-handed melee: As it sounds.
Rifle: Rifle is a catchall category for ranged long-arms. I have found AKs, shotguns, crossbows, flamethrowers, railguns, etc. Its all purely cosmetic as in the end they all do the same thing. Unlike dual pistols this is an effective ranged style from the get go.
Staff: Fighting with a staff. This is a good melee style but apparently with wizard types in mind has some potent ranged attacks as well.
Two-handed: Good old two-handed weapons. Strong melee style but some good ranged attack far in to the talent tree. I havent found much variety in the weapons, just hammers and axes and a mace. I have seen mobs using two handed swords but have not found one myself. On an amusing note the first white weapon you can buy and unlock is a broken 2x4 with nails in it. This is my favorite weapon ever.

Thats about all I have time for now, Ill answer more questions as they are asked but for now time to prepare for work.

This is something I have wanted WoW to do for ages and I hope it takes off well, if just for the fact I want other games to adopt such a system. I may have to give the game a try when a trial occurs.

Ugh tell me about it, been screaming about it since I found out that LOTRO and AION had those options.

It's been brought up to the devs before though and they've specifically stated, for whatever reason, that they have no intention of doing it. I can't fathom why not, it would finally allow for some diversity in our raid groups, instead of seeing nothing but a ton of carbon copies.

Imagine a full set of Twill side by side a full suit of Judgement and Dreadnaught.

The main reason for it is usually because it makes it harder to tell what kind of stats someone has at a glance. It's a BULLSHIT reason, but that's usually the reason given.

yea it is a BS reason since we have the Armory. There are some cool armor pieces I would love to display because it just looks cool.

This is why I love LOTRO. I can wear a peasant dress and deal mega damage or heal :) (yes. I'm Rune-Keeper)

Then Blizzard can just make it so when you enter Battlegrounds, Arena, or PVP zones (WG or TB) that the gear automatically defaults to the general look. It does not matter what you look like walking around town, soloing, farming, or fighting in a dungeon/raid.

To be honest, this is what I hope they do with that "costume tab" Ghostcrawler hinted at last BlizzCon when asked about the seasonal costumes and what they were going to do to help get them out of our banks.

Chibibar

How is the group vs solo dynamics? I mean can a person "solo" the whole game? CoH introduce Team quests early in the game. It was kinda fun but man, that is one long Task force (I heard it was changed in the latest update) Are "group instance" go at a pretty good pace?

LOTRO did a very good job with group instance. If you join a fellowship (that is what party are called in LOTRO) and the leader starts a group instance, everyone can teleport to it instantly. No summoning stone require (which is nice) people can go, run an instance or two and then pop back EXACTLY where you left.

Does DC offer something similar?

Given that Champions is going free to play and was toted as a casual MMO, I can't see them gaining many players if they are going to not only charge a monthly fee but one that is higher than most Hardcore MMOs out there.

Sorry, but playing in the DC universe is simply not worth it.

#41

FnordBear

FnordBear

Ok I am awake now so lemme try to answer a few things:

Price Point: Looks like they gained some sanity and are going the $15 route.

Solo vs. Group: Right now there are 2 betas (soon to be three when the PS3 beta starts) The invite beta which has content close to the internal test server and the preorder beta which is capped at 20. I am on the preorder server so I am technically a little behind on content. That said there is group content called Alerts. The best analogy I can make to alerts are 5 man dungeons in WoW save they dont require 5 player usually. Additionally once you are far above the level range of an alert you can still go back and run them. It is quite possible to be a level 20 in a group of level 10s helping them waste things. At higher levels I do know there are true raids that give special currency to buy raid costumes and such. On the solo side this is the breakdown.

A typical "quest chain" will be 4-5 missions that take place in different open world areas and are completely soloable. Then the final mission will be a solo-instance with a boss at the end. again soloable. Now these bosses are not simple beatfests at higher levels and some require special tactics just as complex as any boss in WoW. A good example, Wonder Woman gives you a quest chain to save Wonder Girl who has been captured by Giganta. Giganta is trying to put her mind in Wonder Girl's body. By the time you reach the encounter things go awry, she succeeds but also enlarges Wonder Girl's body to Giganta size. The trick ofthe fight is you have to keep agro and keep beating on Giganta while Wonder Girl destroys some magical doohickeys to reverse the process and you have to do it without killing Giganta first. Additionally if you arent careful on blocking and using interrupts Giganta will drop agro and go after Wonder Girl resetting the time it takes for her to do her thing.

Side note: Art vs. PVP etc. Currently in beta there is NO way to tell what level someone is without outright asking. So open world PVP is At Your Own Risk.

Pricing info has been officially announced.

No word yet on any bonuses associated with a lifetime subscription. In other news another massive patch was released yesterday. So far the game is showing a lot more polish and playability. I have to give kudos to SOE in that they have shown they are listening to community feedback and adding/modifying things that just don't seem to work or made little sense.

US Pricing and Game Play Subscription Packages:

Suggested retail pricing: USD $49.99(PC) and USD $59.99 (PS3)

  • 1 Month - $14.99
  • 3 Month - $41.99
  • 6 Month - $77.99
  • 12 Month - $143.99
  • Lifetime Subscription - $199.99 (Available on PC only)

The wife and I are interested, but not willing to put up $100+ for boredom.

#46

FnordBear

FnordBear

Well the game as it was at the end of Beta is pretty much the same as release. A few bugs (notably issues with audio after cut scenes) still aren't fixed. Some new bugs like controller schemes not saving are there. The promised auction house is not yet in game.

That aside it is a fun little game. this is -not- a game for the hard core MMOer. This is a VERY casual friendly game. If I put my mind to level grinding and nothing else I could probably hit level cap (30) in a day. It seems like with some of the nerfs done late in beta that SOE is counting on PVP to carry the longevity of the game however there is plenty of multi-man "raid/dungeon" content to go around.

My advice would be if you are really unsure about it wait until the inevitable demo is offered.

Cold. My first thing I remember clearly is the cold. Snow and ice caking a blood-soaked hand. My hand. Then pain. Looking down at my body, draped in blood soaked hides, I see a crude spear impaled in my stomach. It is so cold. I feel the blackness closing in. Then warmth. A figure stands above me bathed in white light. He, I some how know it is a he, reaches out a hand, a strange hand, not like mine. He touches the spear and it disappears. My wound closes. The pain is gone.

Words. I hear words in my head. He is speaking in my head.

"You have courage and you know sacrifice. These traits are desirable."

I don't understand what me means. I remember taking up my club to protect my people. The Others attacked. The others hurt them with their fire and their tools made of the smooth shiny stone. My mate and my child. They ran to the safety of the caves. I stayed. I fought so they could live.

"Yes. You understand what it is to be a hero."

Hero? What is a hero? I don't know this word.

"You will in time. Do you want to see your tribe safe? Do you want to see them safe for all time?"

Time? What is time? This being that makes the hurt stop speaks words I do not know. The medicine man might know. He is wise. He knows the herbs to stop pain. Maybe this one is like the medicine man.

"Yes, you could call me that if it helps you understand."

But I am a hunter, I do not have the wisdom.

"You will in time."

I do not understand. I am afraid. What should I do?

"Do you want to protect them?"

Yes! I want to protect my people! Without them I am alone!

"The pact is made. Go now. Protect your people. Become a Warden to them."

He is gone. My hurts are gone. I feel refreshed. My mind is clear. I see clearly, I smell scents I have never know. Every sense is sharp....I am changed...my thoughts...my senses...greater than before....

That was long ago. Before the written word. Before most cultures the modern world is aware of. I was a simple hunter and some being chose me to walk among the line of my people. To be a silent witness and protector. In those years I have been a warrior, a poet, a sinner, a saint, faithful, and apostate. All in the name of the pact, to see the line of my people continue.

Fifty thousand years. That is how long I reckon I have walked the Earth. By now my people encompass the globe. I have met a few other similar to me, the Savage, the Ghoul, the Immortal man. All seemingly cheating time in different ways.

I do not know how it will end. I can be hurt, I bear many scars. Perhaps I can be killed. I know not. I do know since that day, the day Brainiac came and his exobytes infused my being I am changing. I am stronger, tougher, and faster than ever. I have shrugged off blows that may have ended me. All I know is what despair I was feeling at my powerlessness in this age of super beings is ending.

I am The Warden. I am here to defend the Tribe of the Earth. That is the Pact.

My son got this and loves it. I rolled a guy on a PvP server and it was nothing but a gank-fest. You couldn't leave the main city without getting schooled.

#65

FnordBear

FnordBear

The PVP servers are nothing but pure gank fest. I personally play on Virtue and Vice since it is the unoffical PVE RP server. Better overall community and any PVP is strictly voluntary.

Some community members on the DCUO forum suspect that SOE will have paid server xfers and the process will basically be level on a PVE realm THEN xfer to PVP.

That chest piece is my first "epic" item. Did a second run through of the Riddler's instance who has Deathstroke as the final boss. Beat Deathstroke like he owed me money and lo and behold his chest piece dropped. I immediately replaced the trench coat I have worn since level 1.

#69

Chibibar

I got several character going (highest is level 16)

Angela Hellfire - Fire/beam She is awesome tank :)
Karin Aoi - Gadget/Dual Pistols - she is from DNA^2 pretty cool. kinda new.
I'm keeping Trelia but not sure if I'll level her later.

I'm testing out different classes/combo right now. I do love Flight and Acrobatics, but it is hard NOT to choose flight due to it is easier to move around. Superspeed confuse me A LOT when I'm upside down (same goes with acrobatic but not as fast)
Kovina is Sorcery/Dual Pistol. Interesting but weird combo for me. I might keep making more characters until I find the combo I like.

#70

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

Dammit, you guys are making me want to play this game. Must... Resist... Must...

-end of line-

#71

Chibibar

Heh. The game is pretty fun.

The tree system allows good customization. it is really cheap to respec (500$ for the 1st 650$ for the 2nd... I didn't go beyond that)
I like keeping a single look for my character and can still use items for stats. (which I wish WoW would do, but that is just me)
The powers are pretty neat. It is cool that ALL heroes can use the same weapon list mix with base powers (Fire, Ice, Sorcery, Nature, Gadgets and Mental) which is REALLY awesome. So you can have a range tank (like me. Fire/Beam base)

I think the best combo is Ice/Martial Arts. I gotta try that. I am still trying to find my "niche" character, so far fire/beam is pretty cool.
Dual pistols/gadget is my 2nd fave so far.

#82

No, the problem is with the launcher, and that it seems to use internet explorer and a combination of flash and activex controls to function. As I don't use IE, and hate activex, I had most of that disabled. Even after getting it all re-enabled, it took awhile to finally finagle it into working.

But it now works, and the game is awesome. I haven't even gotten completely out of braniac's ship yet, I can't stop re-making character.

That is unpossible.

And more seriously if someone were to do that all it would take is someone reporting a copyrighted hero name being used to get the name changed or character locked. SOE is being a bit jumpy on that.

Derivative and parody characters are protected speech. Just as long as it wasn't LOLbat specifically, in name or image, it wouldn't be deleted. Besides, themed super groups are always the most fun.

#95

FnordBear

FnordBear

That may be the case but it still hasnt stopped SOE from cracking down. They have already force name changed folk who have public domain and uncopyrightable names.

But as far as a "theme" goes that should wait until more than two people show interest and give everyone a say....democracy and all. LOL.

Heh. While Acrobatic is kinda cool for RP purpose (I actually made 3-4 chara that have acrobatics) flight is the "awesome" you can get to point A to Point B better than any other travel powers.
The only power I don't like is superspeed. I get dizzy trying to navigate that (you can run and stay in place side ways and upside down while moving)

#107

FnordBear

FnordBear

Yeah I have the same issue with superspeed. I have a pair of gloves that when I equip them I get the acrobatics move set so my RP is covered there :)

#109

AshburnerX

Hey, at least in DC, Super Speed lets you run up walls. In City of Heroes it didn't even do that much... you'd be stuck using a temporary Jetpack for anything higher than a normal jump.

#110

Chibibar

Hey, at least in DC, Super Speed lets you run up walls. In City of Heroes it didn't even do that much... you'd be stuck using a temporary Jetpack for anything higher than a normal jump.
Yea. I am happy that superspeed allows you to run up walls and even go upside down. It is just too fast for me and I get dizzy really fast (especially if I start running up buildings) It is a cool power and love it what they do to it.

What is even cooler is that movement powers can have extra in it.
Flight
You can have supersonic where auto flight goes REALLY fast
Dive bomb, when diving, you can damage people as you land.
Extra defense/offense buff to your character via movement skill tree (yea there is some good powers there)

#111

Jiarn

So what are all the travel powers? I was pretty fond of "Teleport" in Champions and my brother loved Burrowing.

#112

Chibibar

Sadly there are currently 3 (don't know if they will ever expand it)

Superspeed = runs really fast. I don't know about the "side buffs" since none of my chara has superspeed. You can run up walls and hang there. I think you "glide too" but not sure.

Acrobatic = This one is interesting. You can "make large strides" when you are not in combat mode and climb on walls BUT the interesting part is when you jump and hold down jump button you "glide" down. The "power up" is you can glide SUPER fast at level 9 (if you buy the power)

Flight = traditional flight. At level 9 you can buy supersonic which allows you to fly REALLY fast (harder to turn etc) but nice to have. When you are in combat mode, you go into hover mode. There are several buffs you can buy too.

#113

AshburnerX

AshburnerX

City of Heroes did something similar. Basically, each Travel Power was divided into a pool of 4 powers, with the first two being selectable, then the other two needing 1-2 powers from the same pool to select. So if you took teleport, you'd pick from teleporting a friend or teleporting an enemy close to you, then you'd get the self teleport, then you could take the group teleport if you wanted it.

They'll probably add more travel abilities later on. Teleport seems obvious, but I could also see a grappling hook thing or long jumping.

#114

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

You also get ziplines and grapple hooks with acrobatics, and you do eventually get rocket flight with it, though you won't be soaring up and over buildings, it's more like infinite glide

#119

AshburnerX

AshburnerX

Here's PS238. It's about the first public school for metahuman children. It's kind of like if Xavier Academy from the X-Men and Hogwarts from Harry Potter were combined, but staffed by the Avengers. Oddly enough, I think it's the best super hero comic out there right now.

The online site is mostly bare, as the author does his blog updates over at his Nodwick (another great comic) site, but it contains info on how to order the books if you want them. The author is kind of like a reverse Phil Foglio in that he publishes the comics in print first, then puts up three pages a week on his website. It's actually a great idea... if I had the money, I'd go and buy all the issues of the comic right now.

Here's info on the Revenant, plus a picture.
The Revenant is, as stated before, much like Batman; he has no superpowers and instead relies on detective skills, gadgets, wealth, intimidation, physical and mental prowess in his war on crime. He is quoted as saying, "Sometimes I think access to cash is the greatest superpower of all." The Revenant is a character from a Michael Stackpole short story, “Peer Review”. Mr. Stackpole donated the Revenant to the PS 238 project. Moon Shadow, Cecil Holmes, and The Flea are disciples and sidekicks of the Revenant.

I would not recommend getting it on the PS3. If anything it is buggier and the community is much more low brow and younger. Some folks on the official forums have commented that the players on the PS3 version are such a young and immature bunch that they repurchased on the PC to just play with different people.

Also the PS3 and PC servers are segregated. So you couldn't play with the other Fourmites.

Looks like a patch is droping today:

  • The time it takes to get to Character Selection on launch has been reduced.

  • The player’s Voice Chat Channel should now be selected according to the following priority, from highest to lowest:
    Alert

    Custom
    League
Player Appearance:
  • Equipping a new weapon should no longer cause your weapon appearance to disappear.
  • Swapping weapons with your weapon style locked should no longer cause the weapon appearance to change.
Movement:
Player character animations should no longer have the chance of getting stuck when weaponizing objects.
Missions:
  • Adjusted difficulty of content in the Venom Lab to level 7 to better match the surrounding content.
  • No Joke quest is now available at level 18 instead of 19.

I actually got it running pretty well on my laptop after setting the draw distance to low, and turning down world detail (though I kept character detail high, because I want to see what people's heroes look like). Also, it's the unreal engine, so if you're used to optimizing that, you should be fine.

Also, I don't know if it was today's patch, or if they upgraded some servers near me, or what, but the horrible, game-breaking lag I was experiencing before is completely gone. Game's awesome now.

Now if we could just get a decent chat system.

Yeah, the MMOs that were intended for consoles (Champions, DCU) tend to have really bad chat systems because most of the player base don't have proper keyboards or use voice chat.

So having hit 30 over the weekend and found out level 30 content is hard...

So who all that follows this thread is interested in forming a Half0rums based league on Vice and Virtue?

Main goals would be

1) Help fellow forum members with quests and instances as well as share spare gear (since there is really no auction house or the like)
2) Attempt high level content
3) RP if anyone is in to that

My current level 30 is a controller built around power pool regen. Currently building up a healer built around critical heals (and for fun my healer's RP story is basically myself if I lived in the DC universe)

So any takers or interest? Would need to get at least three of us to meet up online to form the league.

Assuming interest we can then discuss naming of the league.

The US servers will be coming down at 4AM PT for a brief hotfix to address a few outstanding issues. Downtime is anticipated to be approximately less than 90 minutes. Players may notice the following changes:
  • Abilities: Psychic Empowerment now properly restores power.
  • Abilities: Performing a dodge roll will no longer dodge healing abilities.
  • Challenges: Power Girl now drops loot in the level 30 Challenge Mode for Storming the Ivory Tower.
  • Faction Rewards: Villain faction rewards now only require Marks of Allegiance and no longer require an unavailable badge type.
  • Feats: Any feat that requires a specific number of PvP wins should now be granted properly after the correct number of wins.
  • Trait Resets: If you reset traits while in a different shape change form you will no longer remain stuck in that form.
  • Trait Resets: All buffs cast by the player character from abilities granted by traits will now be removed when resetting traits.
  • Trait Resets: Resetting traits with a weapon type equipped that was earned by a trait (i.e. not the weapon type chosen at character create) will no longer continue to give the stats of the equipped weapon with no basic abilities.
o Now all stats will be removed from equipped weapons for which you do not have the required trait.
o In this situation, you should have the same basic punching abilities that you get if you unequip your weapon.
o Purchasing the trait to grant access to that weapon type again will now restore those stats.

Ok, it's official. Acrobatics is the best movement power. It's just so damn fun, you get some decent powerups from it, and starting at level 9 you can fly with it, as well as zipline from wall to wall and grapple-hook straight to the top of a building.

Flying is kinda boring, but still convenient since you don't need a building to get high altitude.

Speedster sucks total ass. Seriously... fuck.

#150

Chibibar

Ravenpoe: hehe.. I know Superspeed kinda sucks IMO. I haven't gotten any character to 9 to really see the difference (like Acrobatic and Flying) I might built a chara later and test it out :)

Some of the WoW devs said awhile back it will never happen. The official reason to at-a-glance gear check (BS) the unofficial reason being the art team are whiny bitches that dont want to see people not using their shiny new creations.

Well, if their shiny new creation is good (to some it is awesome) then people will show that off, but I like to have a personal flair with my outfit.

Not to mention how gaudy it gets to see 9 of 25 people in the raid looking like exact clones of each other. Hate it.

I kind of like the idea that you're limited to one power set. It's kind of more in keeping with both the DC and Marvel Universes.

Between the two power trees in each set, the iconic powers, your weapons, and your movement mode power you can get a surprising variety going on.

Joined an RP league on my main (Fnord) called the Loreseekers. They seem to have an interesting RP story and as such I wrote Fnord a nice little bit of fiction which I will share here:

Civilian Name: Bear Fitzpatrick
Hero Name: Fnord
Age: 31
Power/movement set: Sorcery, Flight
Origin: Magical

Biography:

Fnord started as your typical nerdy, overweight, fantasy/comic/anime/sci-fi geek. After a failed and childless marriage he absorbed himself in escapism and his work as a network technician for a local TV station in South Carolina. A few years of this life lead some friends to convince him to travel to Metropolis for the Metropolis 2011 Comicon. He expected to go there, ogle some pretty cosplayers, and maybe meet Booster Gold. What he didn't count on was the Brainiac invasion and waking up on a collector ship.

On awakening he found his body transformed by the exo-bytes...gone was his fat and out of shape body and in it's place was one large and well-muscled. Fighting his way out of the ship in a blind panic, he found other changes as well. He was stronger, faster, and could call on arcane powers to defend himself. He could alter his appearance and even grow wings to fly.

After a harrowing escape with a large group of other similarly powered individuals he wandered to Chinatown to see if he could find out what was going on with him. There he met Zatanna who was engaged in a battle with Felix Faust's magents. Without thinking he called on his powers and formed a weapon (at the time a nail-board) and waded in to the fray.

After a fierce running battle that ended in the Mannheim Chinese Theater, Zatanna, Fnord, and a group of other exo-byte empowered heroes defeated Faust in a fierce fight. Heady and high from his victory, Fnord took Faust's helmet as a trophy and still wears it to this day.

Some weeks passed and Zatanna spent time with Fnord and the other new arcane heros them to harness thier powers. He does not understand them fully yet and he has been told by Zatanna that his magic is special. No exo-byte gave it to him, it is something natural to him and that all the exo-byte did was grant him the greater health he now enjoys.

Confused and disturbed by being a natural sorcerer, Fnord now patrols Metropolis trying to find answers.

Personality:

Before his empowerment Fnord was a manic depressive geek who thought little of himself but thought the world of his friends and family. Now he is slowly gaining confidence in his abilities. Thought he does not speak of it, Fnord is deeply spiritual. His beliefs are a mix of Roman Catholicism and Eastern Animism. He is tolerant and accepting of people and their flaws. He is easily distracted and engaged in topics relating to pop culture, science fiction, anime, and gaming, almost to the point he can forget his other duties.

Fnord wears a mask of air-headedness, a defense mechanism from his previous life. While he may seem innocent and child-like on the surface, deep down is a core of passion that can assert itself in the form of righteous rage when those he calls friend are hurt or threatened. Fnord is slow to anger and quick to trust, however he is not naive. Those who betray his trust or conflict with his moral compass will find themselves with am implacable foe.

Powers:

The exo-byte that empowered Fnord corrected numerous health issues he previously possessed. In it's place it left him with a body in peak physical condition (just like Captain America as he likes to say).

Further, according to testing by Zatanna and Doctor Fate Fnord is a natural sorcerer who's powers expressed due to the emotional trauma of the invasion. It is speculated he may have some inter-dimensional ancestry somewhere in his family line. Indeed he does know that he is descended from Irish Pagans. He is also starting to suspect some power may come from his father's side as all he knows of him is, in his mother's words, "He is an evil man."

Fnord has, in addition to traditional magical abilities, shown a talent for creating magical construct from the aether. These typically take the form of weapons he wields with great skill though he has no formal training. Indeed, Doctor Fate tested Fnord with practice weapons similar to the ones he creates and found that his skills were lacking to put it mildly. To date in addition to the traditional magical blasts most sorcerers can channel, he is able to form various swords and bludgeoning instruments, various staves and scythes, and additionally has recently expressed an ability to call forth a pair of alchemically powered pistols firing orichalium bullets.

Known Associates:

Zatanna and Doctor Fate: Advisers and teachers.
Gayle Fitzpatrick: Mother
Blinky: A floating eyeball that seems to act as a familiar to him.
Praefectus Vigilum: A Gotham beat cop who is similarly empowered. He seems to have developed a bit of affection for her and is often seen working with her as a team.
The Loreseeks: A group of exo-byte empowered heroes who specialize in blending magic and technology in to a choesive crime-fighting force.

According to the devs by the time you hit level 30 you are on par with most anyone in the JLA or Society short of the big 3 of Bats/Sups/WW. So you have the right to hob knob with them. It is a lot of fun. The "raids" we couldn't do yet (for my league) which is 8 person team for batcave (taken over or something and it is HARD)
The alerts (or mini raids) are 4 people. There is a hard version (which you get triumph mark) that is a lot of fun. Most of them can be done in 30 minutes or less (depending on the team and how well you are gear and work together) some take VERY long like the 3 hour watchtower run I did. I had to teach people how to beat the hacker.

Anyone want to do some hardmodes as a forum-only group this weekend or possibly all arrange a time to make lvl 1 toons, group, and power level through some quests?

I can bring a well-geared (but not tier geared) Healer/DPS or a poorly geared Controller to the table.

If we do something villian side I can bring in a poorly geared fire tank.

#193

Jiarn

I neither liked CoH or Champions, and I can tell you that I will at least get a good 2-3 months of gametime off this one, it's really casual friendly (I play about an hour or two a day) and it satisfies my habit quite well. Haven't been on WoW for over a week and haven't had the urge to go back once yet.

Gusto

Gusto

I meant CoH and Champions.

At least I played CoH for a couple months, whereas Champions was crap from the get-go.

#196

Chibibar

My wife won't play DCUO cause of the costume coloring feature. She loves the CoH method where you can pick and choose each piece and your color instead of having a theme.

Gears are pretty easy to get so far. Tier 2 is really where it is at :) Tier one is not too bad but if you run a lot of hard alerts, you can get some decent gears.
Tier 1 will boost your HP and Power but very little in terms of your class stats. My controller (gadgets) and Healer (sorcery) tier 1 only like 2 pieces really boost my restoration 40+ points (chest, legs) the other pieces I got from hard alert was already blue. Tier 1 are purple :) most of them boost my base states like +4 to +9 at most. It is not really a big upgrade.

Tier 2 on the other hand is a whole new class of upgrades :)

#197

Jiarn

I'm almost positive you can color each piece...

#198

Chibibar

I'm almost positive you can color each piece...
you can color each piece on a base three color template you choose from.
I.E. if you choose Red, Green, Orange. then all your pieces can be chosen from those three unless you change your base template.

in CoH, your pants can be Orange, Green, Blue while your shirt can be Pink, White, and Black. You can't do that in DCUO :)

I just wanna fiddle with the character creation so much, and it's the only PC game I'll be playing for a while probably. Pokemon drops in early March but that'll be my handheld fix.

#211

Jiarn

The character creation is not on the level that CoH and CO had, but it's still fun. This is the first superhero game that I had more fun IN game than in the character creation.

I think the reason for it, is that this game actually has visible gear upgrades for more costume changes than just having it all available at the start and not really having upgrades visually as the game goes on.

#212

Gusto

Gusto

Works for me, as long I can maintain a pretty distinct correlation with my characters' aesthetics.

I'm gonna try to remake my old CoH tech scrapper, and hopefully have a better time of it than I did in Champions:

Added at: 10:08
Even leveling up and getting new gear allowed me to stick to similar themes:

#213

Chibibar

One of the things (plus it is an achievement) is to collect styles (costume pieces) It is pretty cool that you can collect certain pieces and have them display later one regardless of your current equip item (A feature I TOTALLY LOVE!!!)

the game is VERY casual friendly. It does have regular dailies and mission that you can do.

Gusto

Gusto

Are we starting a HF group?

Also, does respeccing allow you to change your characters power/movement modes/weapons or do you just get to change were you've alloted your points?

#237

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

Your powerset and movement are permanent. Your first point into whatever weapon you started with is also permanent, but starting at level 12 (I think) you can put points into other weapon sets, so there's nothing stopping you from taking all points out of your starter weapon and into another. Or several! Skillpoints are plentiful later on if you do lots of feats.

#238

Chibibar

Your starting weapon will be your base until level 10. You can then put points into other weapons.
Your powers are fixed. At level 30, you will have 15 power points to distribute. BUT you can earn UPTO 80 points in skills to be put into weapons and travel power (also fixed)
Note: at level 9 you can put a point into "super fast" travel power like fly = super sonic, acrobatic = grapple and super speed = run even faster :)

Note: any inate bonus like +2% weapon damage are stackable between weapon. So if you get a +10might in each weapon catagory, then you could have +80 mights.

Can't seem to find any concrete evidence if Rifle specialization = Sniper Rifles at some point. Any personal advice from some of you higher ups?

#241

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

There is a sniper rifle weapon model, but you'll be firing 3-round bursts in most of your combos just like an assault rifle. Even so, rifle is the longest range oriented 'range' weapon, with all of its best attacks hitting at medium to long range. It's short range abilities tend to pale in comparison.

In my experimentation, hand blasters are just under rifles for ranged attacks, but tend to focus on one target, with pistols focusing more on medium to short range and being able to attack multiple targets. I haven't spent any real time testing bows.

For damage purposes, rifles seem to be the best ranged choice, though not counting the mortar bug, it's not enough to make you have to choose it over others. If energy regain is your main concern with a weapon (because you regain power by building your hit counter) hand blaster is by far the best, with one combo of pulse beam easily giving you 20-25 hit combo in just about four seconds.

#242

Gusto

Gusto

Dual Pistols is my favorite weapon. It's also the most mobile weapon set, with you dodging and shooting all over the place. Hand blasters is very stationary, with pulse beam rooting you in place while you do lightning hands of doom.

As a dedicated pistol user who also has a handblaster healer, I can tell you that pulse beam refills mana way faster than full auto. Also, full auto does terrible damage unless you're gadgets with INTIMIDATE. Then it because awesomesauce.

#255

Chibibar

I can't wait to try out the new stuff. Chara name I'm working on is Miaka Yuki. She has 5 tier one pieces now (woo!) and almost my first tier 2 piece. (she is sorcery heal spec with bow and arrow)
Note: auto pistol + dps mode + intimidate for gadget = win! it is nasty stuff. but if you trying to restore power/mana it is best to attack since max combo (so far) with auto pistol is x25 and it is slow. I can attack upto x40 combo within the same time (I think every 2 hits with auto = x1)

Once you hit 30, it is better to start thinking what you want to concentrate on (dps or your role) and choose your bonus accordingly :)
If you need help finding your investigation and briefing check this site out.
http://dcuo.mmorpg-life.com/tag/briefing/

p.s. I will try to be on tonight (Tuesday) afterwork, but Wednesday and Thursday I have class so won't be back until 10pm cst.

#256

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

Oh, one thing about full auto that isn't shown in the tooltip. When you have an enemy targeted and use full auto, you'll point both guns at it and fire, damaging it and anything in a cone shape around it.

If you then use your movement keys, you can point your other gun somewhere else, and lay down fire on two groups at once.

Plus it looks pretty badass.

#257

Jiarn

Just hit level 10 tonight, can someone run down what these Legends and Alert things are?

I'm guessing Alerts are "Instances" that you can que for the run with a group when it fills?

What are these special "Legends" items I got in my backpack?

Been having fun with my new "Rocket Glide" for Acrobatics too heh.

#258

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

Alerts are indeed instances. Queue up for them and you'll run them with a group. They're sorta like wow dungeons, but tend to be more open.

"Legends" are a type of pvp where you play as an iconic DC hero. You should have gotten a legend chip in the mail, use it to add that legend character to your list of choosable characters. If you're a hero, it'll be robin. If you're a villain, it'll be harley. All other legend characters have to be purchased using the game's version of honor points.

One thing to note about legends pvp. No matter what level you are, the iconic character you take control of will be max level. So your own gear and abilities don't matter in legends. You will need to practice with your chosen character's abilities though, since they each have their own loadouts already pre-chosen.

Also, at level 10, you get the ability to change stances. You've been in DPS stance the entire game. Now you can switch into whatever stance your class has. Tank mode for tanks, healer mode for healers, or controller mode for, well, controllers! You'll do less damage (especially if you're healer) but you'll be better at your other role.

If you're a controller, I highly recommend giving controller stance a try. Controllers don't get a damage penalty like the other classes (though you'll still do less damage because you won't have the damage bonuses of dps stance) -but- controller mode gives you a ton of power regen. A TON OF IT. You'll be so full of power you won't know what to do with it.

#259

Jiarn

But you PVP against other people using their iconic characters as well I'm guessing?

#260

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

But you PVP against other people using their iconic characters as well I'm guessing?
Yes.

If you want to pvp as your own character, against other people as their own characters, then you want the Arenas, which should open up for you soon.

PvP gears are pretty cool. You can save them and spend on any PvP vendors. Some of the nicer stuff are on the War of the Rings vendor. It is in metropolis near the Daily Planet building. You collect these icons and place them around your hero until he is up and running.

alerts - These are instances that you can join. If you have a team put together (4) and start to queue usually you start the instance immediately. Now if you have a team of 4, you can do any type you like, but if you just queue up yourself, the game will try to put at least ONE of each (1 healer, 1 tank and 1 controller and one dps) I recommend you check box the role if you want in. Controllers are rare cause I think people don't know how to use them properly. I always see people looking for controller.

At Level 30 you gain access to Hard Alert (Halert) these are tougher requires 4 people (or 3 REALLY good gear) to clear them. You get Marks which you can buy tier 1 stuff.

Duo - are also instance. these are fun with just two people (it can be solo if you are good enough)

At level 30 you gain raid access. These are 8 person team and they are pretty tough. (There are 2 currently soon to be 3 after today's patch)

Legends are pretty fun. There is an exploit right now on the villain side so queuing up takes some time. I hope this will be address BUT at least you will earn point anyways

I might actually try some PVP today, or at least see about taking care of some of these piling up wanted missions.

Controller form, eh? I might have to give that a shot too.

#265

Jiarn

Controller actually sounds pretty interesting to me, I've always loved "CC" and "Mind Control/Enchanter" types, what type of build am I looking at for that role?

I think Gadget users are controllers. Right now I'm gadgets/handblasters/acrobatics and enjoying the hell out of it. I did the questline where I took done Brother Blood with Zatanna, Raven, and Fate, and I felt like an awesome Ironman!

Jiarn

Well I'm pretty sure Jiarn is Gadgets, but what would I do to get into a "controller" spec?

#270

Chibibar

The key is to press "T" to switch between DPS (anyone can be one) and into your spec.

What is cool about gadget controller is when you have dual pistol + intimidate + auto attack + your domination is high enough = you can pretty much control/fear the whole bunch of people and do damage. It is insane!!!! :)

now what stats are important? If you look around here are some of the consensus.
Healer = Restoration, Healing crit chance, healing crit effect (and one other but it is debatable*) healing magnitude.
Controller = Vitalization and domination
Tank = Defense and health
DPS = might, attack critical effect and attack critical chance (I think that is right)

Here is a good thread to see all the breakdown

#271

Jiarn

I guess what I'm asking is what's the major differences in "switching spec"? New abilities? Different options? Not sure what I should be doing differently.

#272

Chibibar

Ah.
Lets say you are a controller (Gadget/blaster)
As DPS mode = you do more damage (naturally)
as Controller mode = some of the SAME power will react differently. If you read the power description (some are incorrect) your powers will restore POWER for you and your allies. this is a key. You become a mana battery for your team and if you are good at managing your power and restoring, people will LOVE YOU. (As a healer, I burn power/mana like water cause some tanks are just stupid)

As controller, your powers will last longer (i.e the holds last longer than DPS mode) you do get bonus to domination (I think it is 100 in controller mode)

That is same for healers = they get better healing rates and powers last longer like the bubble shield (not the actual name but I forgot what it is)

Tanks get better defense and damage mitigation.

I'm really going to look into this controller business, because that's something I desperately miss from my EQ days. CC was fun, engrossing, and a complete change from the basic tank/healer/dps roles.

I think I'm going to make a new hero, Magic based and really go to town with this idea and be a permanent ALERT controller.

FnordBear

Just rememebr gadgets and mental are the only controller power sets.

Also dont see many mental controllers. So maybe a good choice there to stand out a bit.

I'm playing a Staff wielding Tech User. Its a lot of fun, since most staff combos induce stun. And I love juggling enemies in the air.

Jiarn

Sorry I meant Mental, not Magic.

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

Right now, controllers are kind of misleading. You can cc, but your main purpose is to buff your group with power regen. You are a healer for the blue bar, and off dps (controllers do the most damage among purple not in dps role).

In pvp, a controllers role is to kill the healer. Controller attacks debuff healing.

Jiarn

Just finished reading some strats and guides on Controllers and there's no doubt in my mind.

Mental Controller all the way. I may pick up flight after all, as I don't feel Super Speed or Acrobatics will really fit into that kind of "character". Oh the possibilities now... time to let my imagination run wild....

#285

Chibibar

Yea. I am trying to use other powers to match my character's profile BUT flight is VERY useful and versatile compare to other abilities. I can travel from point A to B without issue (i.e. no mob training or attacked at this time) but acrobatic and super speed there is a chance of being attack (more on super speed less on acrobatic unless you miss your grapple and fall on to the ground)

Since the update this morning, 2 BSODs and 5-6 crashes. I only had it twice since I got the game pre-patch. :(

Starting at level 9, acrobatics gets access to rocket propelled glide, letting you stay in the air indefinitely.

Also rememebr if you go hand blaster as a weapon your hand blasters replace your gloves so if thats your thing you got a ton more options.

Now that the auctionhouse is up and running be sure to browse through stuff for armor styles you like.

I have a character specifically to work auctions and sell the stuff I farm up. As a couple of forumites will tell you I gladly give freebies so if there is a style part you are after lemme know and Ill keep you in mind if I come across it.

And if anyone comes across (Heroe side) druid shoulder or druid head gear that a healer can equip I will pay premium for it!

#293

Jiarn

My controller would love some demonic pieces if you come across any Fnord, going to check the AH but I'm still kind of in the poor house -laugh-

#294

FnordBear

FnordBear

The demonic stuff mostly comes from doing missions for Wonder Woman and from the the daily vault.

#295

Ravenpoe

Ravenpoe

Yeah, do wonder woman's trigon quests in the chinatown district of Metropolis. You'll get a full set or a near full set of demonic costume pieces.

#296

Jiarn

Currently doing those, that's how I got my Demonic boots. Stopped doing the quests there to do the Valentine's Event though.

#297

Jiarn

This thread needs a bump!

So my first creation after Jiarn (from my ava/sig) was:

Doljonijiarn: Mental/Controller/Flight/Dual Pistol

Went with the names origin. A Djinn looking character.

Didn't really like Flight or Dual Pistol, even though they were superior to the other choices, so I went with

Dolj: Mental/Controller/Super Speed/Staff

Leaned more toward the Deadpool style in this one.

This is where I gained my love for Super Speed. It quickly became my favorite movement power. Staff was amazingly fun too, but didn't mesh well with Mental Controlling.

Sirhc Dnomyar: Mental/Controller/Super Speed/Hand Blasts

Went for a similar to me looking head with an arcane style look.

Easily my perfect character. The abilities and attacks go hand in hand. It's alot of fun to juggle with Telekenisis then blast away with hand blasts. Currently my highest level at level 20.

Atma Weapon: Fire/Tank/Flight/Two-Handed

Look up Atma Weapon. You'll see the insipiration.

Wanted to try tanking, since finding a group spot as a controller got harder and harder as I leveled. So far, alot of fun.

Miaka Yuki (Sorcery, dual pistol) is now fully decked T1 healer gear and has 2 tier 2 + 2 raid weapon (97.1 dps)
I an on VnV if anyone needs help look me up.

Yeah, my brother has poked me to play this with him since he's pretty much quit WoW to play DC. I fiddled around with it, but with my raid times in WoW I just don't have much time to play. I did make a few chars for fun though-

The first one I modeled after my own facial features and eye color but since there really wasn't any facial sliders or the sort, I couldn't really fiddle with it too much. The second one was more of a throw to my avatar here, she was fun. The wings flapping as she flew was a nice touch.
I mean the graphics in the game are fantastic, but super-hero games just aren't my style. Oh and of course I made -

Cause how could I not? :awesome:

So did my first raid in DCUO this weekend. Ran it on my healer, Fnord.

We were full up on healers so ran as DPS.

Results:

#2 DPS (Yay! I dont even have any tier gear yer)
I learned that stuff in raids are more than a little bit rapey.

So as it stands I run with Hammer Corp. I understand it is one of the larger Leagues on the server Hero side and has some heavy RP and a few ongoing storylines as well. If anyone is interested in the group holler at me in game and I can get you in.

#302

Chibibar

or you can join Abstergo Industries :) (that is where I am) we successfully raid Outer Cavern and Khandaq (got full tier 1 now) but having issues with inner cavern.
We don't RP as much (only a couple of players does) but we do help you gear up. The only downside is that we "test run" you with any instance to see how you perform (checking playing skill) before we accepts you.

#303

FnordBear

FnordBear

or you can join Abstergo Industries :) *snip*
Honestly if I had the time to dedicate to an MMO I would but as it stands my free time occurs during "off hours" for many people. Thats why I content myself with item farming and amassing massive amounts of wealth via the auction house (if you see a Cryotank for sale for 12k its probably me selling it) and roleplaying with the fun folk in the guild I am in :)

#304

Jiarn

Roleplay and casual style sounds very much like me. I may give you a hollar when I can finally decide on a "main" -laugh-
