I'm loving just about everything about Arkham City. The addition of Two Face, the apparently increased mobility for travel, the design of the city. Most of it looks great.

Except for Harley Quinn. They took everything I hated about the B:AA design and distilled the costume down to that. She looks like generic biker slut now, not like she's part of a costumed rogue's gallery.

To be perfectly honest, I hated Harley's design in AA. Then again, I'm a big fan of her original design.

At least the voice actor brings the character back to where she belongs. The writing and voice acting saved the terrible design big time. The same can easily be said for this one.

I agree her costume in this seems a little... weak. Changing it is fine but it seems they just kind of threw the whole thing out the window.

I don't like Harley's new costume :( I do dig it in AA tho.
Catwoman is the same from DCUO (or REALLY close) which is awesome.

According to Joystiq, Edward Nigma is still going to be challenging players with devious puzzles, but things will take a definite Jigsaw Killer turn: Failing to solve the puzzles results in the deaths of innocent Gotham City citizens.
While I think this is a great idea and will certainly lead to some fun and interesting moments, the idea of Riddler being like Jigsaw feels a little out of character. Riddler's always been more of a heist kinda guy. Making loads of money via clever robberies or extortion.

At the same time, though, he's likely pissed at Batman solving all his riddles in Arkham Asylum. So, given that context, it kinda makes sense.

The Riddler as a sociopath who uses the lives of other people as tools to manipulate and torment the Batman for his failures feels pretty spot-on to me.

See the problem now?

It would be better if it would go something like "solve this riddle so you can find out how to stop some other criminals from doing something that will result in dead people" or something...

It sounds like they're just continuing the version of the riddler that was introduced in the first game, someone driven to murderous madness by arkham. Listen to his recordings in the game, it's a very different riddler than we're used to.

from DCUO
Riddler in DCUO retired and actually become a detective. There is a mission on Hero side where he left clues about T.O. Morrow's plan with Joker

He's like that in the comics now too (last i heard).

I really need to get playing that game for real already...

OK, after the last Steam sale I caved in and got the GOTY version of Arkham Asylum.

...damn this game is more awesome than I thought it would be. The combat, the stealth, the sheer number of collectibles, everything. Can't wait for the sequel.

While I found the Scarecrow mindfucks to be a tad silly, the third one really suprised me. I REALLY thought the game had glitched out until they showed the warped opening cinematic.

Tell me about it:
I got really freaked out because that's exactly what happened last time i had PC trouble (and the VC isn't made any more and it took forever to get it replaced under warranty) and Shift-Tab'ed then Alt-Tab'ed and missed part of the cinematic...

I always thought the Penguin to be a tad silly, so I like their British gangster take on the character. Loved the end reveal as well.

Also, noticed how his "monocle" isn't a monocle?

Man, apparently it's Maurice Lamarche doing the voice of Mr. Freeze and he's doing a damn fine job impersonating Michael Ansara's animated series voice.
