There's a fine line between gleefully wishing death on people and grimly agreeing that there is a small percentage of people in this world who do exactly 0% good and consciously try to do harm. It's sad that every harmful person can't be saved, but it's a part of life. I'm not dancing around my house right now, but I'm not sad to see him go. Like Wasabi, I'm a little worried about what comes next, too.
I honestly think that is the proper way to view this. While I'm glad he's dead, I know this is not nearly the end of it.
Except they don't. You feel that way because you want to feel like you're smarter than everyone else. You're nothing more than a contrarian. Keep decrying everyone for celebrating the death of one of the worst people in the world just to make yourself feel smarter than the rest of us.

In other news, it's about time. While there may be repercussions, one cannot deny that a major blow to the face of terrorism in general, and Al-Qaeda specifically has been delivered.
My concern is more with Pakistan's response. They've already been rather testy with us, of late...

I really hope that this Bin Laden killing doesn't turn into partisan bickering. It's a great day for ALL Americans (and their allies) as well as and all the victims of Al Qaeda. It doesn't matter if you're a Republican or a Democrat... Christian or Muslim whatever the hell your party/religion/(sexual orientation?) is. Yes, at this point this news might be largely symbolic but it's still a huge story and a great achievement no matter what party you're affiliated with, who you vote for, who you pray to. The world's a better place today.
If you can't accept that, there's a little red x on the top right of the screen, don't poop on other people's happiness because you cannot feel the same way. Have some respect of taking your ball and going home.

The video of everyone celebrating and waving flags in the streets outside the White House reminds me of 9/11 when we saw the video of people celebrating in Middle Eastern streets.
