Version 1.1 brings the Ignore feature. XF has stated that this will come "this Summer".

As far as I know, people. Although I have requested the other and there has been some chatter for it.

Ignoring people is for thin skinned, mentally oppressed, weak willed, puddles of goo.

Man/Woman up kiddos.
I would like an ignore feature because I feel some posts around here are a complete waste of space. I would rather just not see them at all. I'm not offended by anyone. But hey, thanks for making some stupid baseless generalizations. That's always good.

There are a couple people who post nothing worth reading. Not to mention people who just can't get along. Thus, ignore feature.

Yes, it's nice you can basically get along with everyone, but some people search each other out and are total dicks to those specific people. For them, being able to ignore that person might be nice.

If they ever get it working there's a mod that would allow us to ban people from specific threads. So say that there's a thread about beef and someone comes in tossing about insults. We ask them to stop but they won't. Instead of locking the thread we just ban that user from posting in that thread.

I can't wait until they get that fixed.

But until that day... YOU ALL SUCK! BWAHAHA! Cower before my cripplingly insulting master wit!

I want to be able to ignore the people that I feel do not /ever/ have anything to add to threads so why waste time seeing they wrote something? I'm not sure what threads I would ignore though. I just don't click on the ones I am not interested in.

The problem is that there are threads which I am interested in, but I should not participate in.

Okay, the thread ban thing isn't going to fly. It had problems. And when people pointed them out to the dev he got pissy and pulled his addon. So damn.

But now how will we ban Mr. Sexington from this thread, leaving him isolated and depressed? Now he's just going to keep showing off his master wit. And if I wanted to see someone's master wit, I would use Google.

Ok I don't really get that they are pretty innocuous threads. Maybe there should be a forum game sub forum then they could just be in there.

I guess I don't have a solution for that I don't use a new posts button.

I got addicted to the new posts and "mark all posts read" buttons awhile ago, and they are essentially the only way I interact with the forum anymore. It just takes too long to go through each subforum I'm interested in.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the ignore post feature request could be changed slightly, and probably made easier to implement. It only needs to remove the post from the New Posts page - if I go to general, I should see everything that's in general. But there should be a "Don't show this thread in the new threads even if it has new posts" button per thread.

A sort of super unsubscribe.

There is something I could do, but it's an all or nothing thing.

I could create a sub called "Forum Games" in which we have these things. I can set it up so that they do not show in the "What's New". Problem is, it wouldn't show for anyone, which is why I've not done it. So to appease one group who hates them, I'd be disaffecting another group who likes them. Plus, I think a sub called "Forum Games" would be popular initially and then die out like the NSFW area did.

I don't know you can make inane posts in a thread at work but you can't look at titties.
That might be a factor here.
