Minor victory thread

My wife and I are polar opposites in almost everything except the agreement that living quarters should be relatively spartan, and anything you don't use should be donated or gotten rid of.

I had a sweet Labour Day Weekend. Well, the Saturday was lame. I read a lot though. But Sunday, I went and toured the Steamwhistle Brewery in Toronto, which is awesome. You pay $15 and they give you a beer to wait for your tour to start (You can also buy bottles for cheap while you wait). The tour then starts with another beer before they actually take you through, and the tour ends with them pouring you another beer, and sending you home with a six-pack. Money well spent I'd say.
Afterwards my friend and I went to our favourite bar in Toronto; The Beer Station. Its a bar that has something around 140 beers available. We wound up ordering more Steamwhistle and played some pool, then watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High before bed. Then this morning we went to Cora's for brunch.
I love that city.

Over the Labor Day weekend I made my way up to the Boundary Waters to do some backpacking on the Pow Wow trail. It was a bit crowded, with 6 other groups on it at the same time. I was hoping to get away from people, but ended up meeting a few really cool people instead so I won't complain. The second night I got ahead of everyone and was able to get a campsite all to myself though. It turned out a lot better than I expected, even though it dropped below freezing Sunday night. It is beautiful up there, and I can't wait to get back up there on some other trails.

I have painted 18 Flamers of Tzeentch with gradual coloring from pink to purple to light blue in 2 days. If I used paint brushes the effect would have taken me 3 weeks. Now on to the flame bits and mouths.

I picked up a TurboGrafx-16 with 16 games at a garage sale for $50. I don't plan on selling the stuff but if I did I could fairly easily make over $300.

Spent the entire night out again with my comic cutie. We weren't going to meet up again till this weekend but when she told me she was free last night I couldn't resist. Why isn't this an epic win? Because I barely woke up with enough time to drive back to my apt, get ready and get to work. No breakfast, very little sleep and I have an extra long workday.

Worth it, but I'm dragging at work now...

For the first time in over a month I am completely caught up at work. I left the place a mess, but it's a mess that other people have to put away in it's proper spot. (a mess as in crowded and cluttered, but it is their assigned job to put away)

I have it on good authority that a girl I met the other week is interested in me. I'm going to try asking her on a date next time I talk to her.

I teach english to first grade Chinese kids. Last night their parents and they all left written feedback saying they were at least satisfied. Most of them were very satisfied.

@Sparhawk: I don't think I've been caught up on work a day in my life. That must be a fantastic feeling.

@David: Damn right! Way to UP THE FUCK MAN!

@Timm: Glad to hear that the job you're doing is being appreciated. For the Chinese culture, to be told it's "satisfying" is like the American equivelant of "FUCK YEAH MAN!". So I think it's a good thing you decided to stay and finish up the contract.

@Cajun: I've been sick off and on this week and unfortunately working on a Satuday. Have some of that fun for me eh?

So I'm going on about 2 weeks of seeing "Comic Cutie" now. It's been a really nice experience geeking out while still being really attracted to the person. Usually it's one or the other. I've also been going out ALOT with "milf" from my other thread. We've had a few "experiences" here and there but not an "all the way". I'm not so stressed out about it anymore as I'm getting it pretty regularly after work from "CC". Of course, if the opportunity finally comes around to get with "milf" I know I'd jump on the chance.

Why isn't this epic? I'm starting to think that "CC" thinks we're exclusive. She's been texting/calling alot for all kinds of stuff. Neither of us has made a single mention if this is more than just "fun" but I've seen this situation before and where it can lead. So I'm just enjoying it all as it comes for now and hopefully doesn't take a bad turn.

Well I know I'm probably letting her think it's more, I've spent the night at least 6 times at her place already. A couple of the times we've actually had breakfast. However, neither of us has mentioned ANYTHING remotely "romantic" or "long term" about the entire situation.

As for taking the wheel? What wheel? I don't want a relationship, I'm very much fine with my freedom and if she finds someonelse to spend time with, more power to her. I'm keeping my options wide open with no intentions of changing it. If she starts pushing in any kind of direction of more, that's when I'll probably just lay it out for what it is.

I actually went into Sonic Boom today, for the first time (Non-Torontonians or GTA-ers may recognize that as the music store from Scott Pilgrim). I'd always heard of it but have never gone in.
ITS AMAZING.
Apparently, the Planet Smashers released another album this year I didn't know about. And I found Rocko's Modern Life on DVD.
And my friend and I signed up for the World Tour at the Beer Station.

I just about opened a thread in the advice forum about how to punctuate an uncommon sentence but I solved it by myself. This is good because therapy is expensive.

I am loving my new headphones. Recently earbuds have started irritating my ear canals (for no apparent reason) so I got myself some Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones. Pretty comfortable, excellent sound. Better than anything else I've ever owned, but they kinda highlight how crappy the sound is on my MP3 player (which is probably why Best Buy doesn't make their Pilot brand players anymore). Oh well, they sound great on my desktop and my netbook (surprise!)
