Minor victory thread

@Shakey - Same here! I've got to say the last 2-3? weeks with this girl (comic book cutie) have been pretty fantastic. Things are where I want them to be with her, we've had fantastic nights everytime we get together. No drama has cropped up. We have pretty varying tastes on stuff (She's a comic purist, I'm pretty lax. I'm a hardcore gamer, she barely plays game apps on phones. She plays MTG every weekend, I quit 9yrs ago. She likes girly romance flicks, I can't stand them.) so it's been challenging to find something to do outside of eat, drink, sex, repeat. Yet so far, so good.

It was a lovely day. That cool front finally came through, so the fellow and I went to Breaux Bridge to walk around. It's a cute little town that probably has more second hand stores than restaurants. It's fun to wade through all the junk and neat old furniture. Someone was even selling a box of really old black and white photos. AND I found a children's book called Half Magic that I really enjoyed as a kid. It was free because it wasn't in great condition, but I'm excited to read it to my niece!

We walked through the old cemetary and saw this enormous hawk perched at the very top of a tree. It looked amazing as it flied away. I paid my respect at some of the really old graves that don't have anything etched into them anymore. Every time I see one, I just have to stop. We had great pizza and coffee, and then I played ukulele until sundown. Now I'm home in my jammies getting ready to watch Troll Hunter and the Thor Rifftrax, eatin' butternut squash and about to enjoy the sweetest-smelling peach I could find in the grocery store. Ahhhhhh...

Only the defense guys do that. It's their jerb goddamn it!

There is this asshole cop in my state who doesn't care about the law or proper procedure. He is in so many improper search cases. I want to take a field trip and go get my picture taken with him.

*sighs deeply and smiles in a completely silly, serene fashion*

Isn't it funny how some people always manage to make you feel good, just by being there? They don't have to say anything particular, or do anything particular, but always when it's time to part ways, you are both in peace and serene for having talked to them, and can't wait for the next time to see them?

Thank God for those kinda people.

*walks off, smiling*

The Fellow's-eyes-only things. :unibrow: I cannot go into much detail, but polka dots are involved... and I love polka dots!

I also bought groceries, but they're not pretty. Although Orville Reddenbacher's mustache is sort of cute, I guess.

Today's shopping, mostly just household stuff that we needed, using coupons, almost $70 saved total. Add in the dinner we had Friday night, and the total jumps to just under $85. We're working the coupons baby!

No an epic win, as I keep having to work overtime, but continued drama at the 3-11 shift keeps buying me stuff. Spring bought me a new computer. Summer bought my mom a new TV. And now Fall drama will pay for my new iPhone. All I have to do is show up and do my job. :)

80lbs is more than half my weight. That is an immense amount of loss in anybody's book. I grant you permission to celebrate your loss. As long as the next time you work out, you forget where you have been, and focus only on your next goal. Thats my theory anyway..
Also... I have about 10lbs to put on till I hit my target weight. Send me your well wishes....and if you are canadian...send me your poutine!!

Good luck, Eva!

I've been practicing guitar enough that my fingers are actually bruised. I feel like I've accomplished something.

My bedroom door slammed shut last night due to wind, and after figuring out I couldn't possibly open it myself (I tried kicking it, that was a mistake--but to be fair I tried screwdrivers and credit cards too), I went out and successfully found a locksmith, described my problem, discussed a price and fixed my door (in Chinese!). Celebrate small successes...lawl.

Its always nice to reaffirm that you have a measurable ability to speak.
Absolutely. There are times when I feel like I'll never be able to truly tackle Chinese, but then there are those days where you realize, hey, I could easily live my day to day life speaking this language, and you know what? That kicks ass.

I'm impressed, but hell, I barely speak passable English, much less another language.
