I pray the girl can go back to normal (if possible) Women in China are generally treated as 2nd citizen (in the world of business) and a woman with disability are treated even worst sometimes :(

The “Nanjing judge” refers to an infamous 2006 incident where a young man named Peng Yu went to the aid of an elderly woman who had fallen down on the street in the eastern city of Nanjing. At the woman’s request, Peng helped take her to the hospital only to have the woman turn around and accuse him for being the person who knocked her down. A Nanjing judge then ruled that “common sense” suggested that Peng only took the woman to the hospital because he was guilty and ordered him to pay her medical expenses.

I fucking hate China.

I really do.
Well, when you have like 1.3 BILLION people to control, a lot of them have to be brain washed. It was said that Communism on a large scale doesn't work (that what I was told why Russia failed) but China did it via mass brain washing.

When you do it on a large scale, people blindly follow. Of course it helps when majority of the population are ignorant also except for the new generations.
It is slowly changing.
now people can have cellphones
people have limited internet (before it was none)
people can own a car (well it is scary down there when I visit)
people can own homes (more than one)

Actually, China did it by redefining "Communism" as "capitalism with a heavy dose of central control." True communism still doesn't work, and won't work until fundamental aspects of human nature are changed.

OT: This is horrible. I don't think it's a uniquely Chinese problem though, as many have pointed out.

Yea. I think today it is a lot of capitalism with central control. There is good and bad with it. the good is that China can get things done quickly without all the red tapes. the bads? well we already see what is the bad. Lack of human empathy, lack of safety, and even poor quality at times (short cuts to make more money)

If you're living in China's rural area, odds are good someday your house will be purchased for 1/100th of what it's worth and be bulldozed to make a condo.

The fact that things like this upset and shuck us actually gives me hope for humanity - because to us, this ISN'T acceptable.
