Really? I still love this game. Sure, it's got some issues, but it's still far and away the best game I've seen in years if not ever.

Sorry but it's far too late for people to start talking trash about the game.

You don't get to 80 hours and then say "Huh....this really isn't that good."

People hating it is likely due to saturation. Most games deal with this.

It's one of the reasons WoW, if you go by face value on websites, is probably the most hated MMO in existence. Skyrim is popular and appearing all over the place, so the people getting sick of it are starting to get vocal about it and are going to start finding faults for flame fuel.

I've never continued playing something I didn't enjoy, so I could care less what the presiding opinion is. I do find it funny in a "let's all hate on the popular thing" sort of way. I think particularly in gaming journalism, a lot of people say that just to be shocking and get more readers.

So, I've noticed that the tide of public opinion is starting to turn on this game on some review sites.
I can't wait till I can be a hipster and only like the game ironically.
Then your name would be Tom Chick.

It's funny, Skyrim has a metric SHIT ton of faults and if asked to give it an out of 10 score, I'd probably give it 10. It's so fucking engrossing in a way I can't remember any game being. I've easily put 100 hours into since it launched. I fucking LURVES it.

I'm at 171 hours and counting.

Just won the game the other night for the first time and now I'm doing total destructo-mage. He doesn't even own a weapon.

Alright... just finished up the Dark Brotherhood quests. That means I have finished ALL of the major questlines and can FINALLY start a new character.

That means you're finally a collegiate mage priest imperial rebel thief dragon slayer thane assassin hindu guru voodoo drag queen alien?

Man, in my Skyrim game I'm now at 100 enchanting but I'm having a helluva time finding the enchants I am missing. Stuff like muffle, a couple of the fortify skills and the like.

That right there is one of the reasons I couldn't enjoy a Stealth/Archer in Oblivion or Fallout. Unlike most games like Thief, if someone dies in front of a group of bandits, they just stand there or look for you a few seconds before going right back to where they were. Immersion fail.

Partly agree, though Stealth would be pretty hard if you couldn't keep stealth killing them because they were always in a form of heavy awareness. I know you can still get a stealth attack if they are in the "nearly closed eye" mode of awareness, so I wouldn't mind a mod that make them stay in that mode after someone near them is killed, so at the very least it looks like they don't reset to "looks like everything is fine, woop woop."

Also waiting for a mod that adds some type of invisibility or smoke bomb effect to the last stealth perk. It really is silly to have someone running to attack you and thus all my character does is crouch right in front of him making him go "Where is he!? I can't find him!". Would be much cooler if they had some effect that makes it seem like you are vanishing into an obstruction or shadow.

The sneaking itself is pretty hilarious. There is a quest later in the game where it literally asks you to sneak around a building. Now while dark in some areas, the building still was a lot brighter then most caves. I would sneak up some stairs only to run into a patrol, find myself sneak standing right under a lamp, bright as day, with the patrol wandering literally 5 feet near me as it passes. Not a single time did it notice me. Really would like a transparency effect or something so it does not look so outrageous.

Texture bug?
On the 360 version, installing the game would prevent the textures from loading properly, so a lot of the textures were blurry and undefined (because it was showing them at a reduced resolution, like you'd see at a distance). This is no longer an issue and everything finally looks beautiful.

That sounds like unplayable madness and here I was sort of mulling over waiting for an HD texture mod to be finished before playing anymore.

It's not THAT reduced. Things just sort of looked blurred.

And besides... I PLAY the game on a 10 year old, SD TV with Mono sound... and games today don't come with a Mono sound option. This means I've had to play every 360 game I own like I'm deaf out of my right ear. You don't know gaming hell like I know it.

Oh so get this, I'm reading a loading screen when I fast travel and it display this: (wish I had gotten a screenshot since this won't be word for word)

"The Illusion School of magic gives you access to spells like Fear, Charm and Invisibility."

Might not be phrased exactly but it specifically DID say "Charm".

It's very clear that they decided to remove the spells at the last second. Wtf?

So, that Blackreach is something visually huh?
Yes it is. Took me totally by surprise. Was expecting another dungeon and... BAM.

Also, Shego, I looked into it and it looks like Skyrim didn't have a "Charm" spell at all. What happened was they used to call the Calm/Harmony/Pacify spell "Charm" and then realized it would be confusing with the old charm spells, so instead they changed the name. They simply forgot to alter it in the loading tip.

Man do you bitch a lot for bread crumbs.

If you don't like it, go ahead and play Dragon Age 2.
Breadcrumbs? It was the crux of an entire playstyle I had done for years over the course of multiple games. It wasn't something insignificant. I also went into detail on how the entire magic system/story as a whole was a letdown in this game.

You're missing the part where I'm LOVING playing with my Duel Axe Weilding Orc.
