[Gaming] Elder Scrolls 5 - Dawnguard is HERE!

What axe is that second one?
One of the perks you can get is enchanting an item with 2 effects (it's way near the top of the tree), which I'm assuming resulted in that second weapon.

And as Ash said, when you enchant something you can rename it (hit 'f' I think, re-name, hit enter), hence the, uh, 'creative' titles.

I couldn't see that much damage even with the perks, which I did not think went onto the damage of the weapon. I'll have to experiment tonight with my maxed enchanter character. He also has maxed blacksmithing. Not sure if he has the fire/shock perk maxed, though.

I have a 100 enchanting character and the two enchants is very nice. I just didn't think the damage was reflected in the overall damage of the weapon or if it could be made to go that high without cheating.

One thing I've noticed as a 1 hander user, if you enchant your OTHER equipment with bonuses to one handed damage (like my +35% damage to 1 hand ring), that damage is reflected on the item stats in real time, as above. Also, the damage increases from perks in the 1 hand line.

That's how the "base" damage on my dwarven waraxe of shock and stamina drain is around 107.

Still, it's suspiciously high.

You can make potions that increase your one-handed damage though, or at least find them. Whoever made that picture could have drunk a bunch of them before taking the pic.

I just watched a video on how to get super duper stuff and now I know what's up.

First, you need to have a full set of armor/rings/pendants that have smithing bonuses as well as a different (or even possibly the same set) with enchanting. Also have a potion for smithing and a potion for enchanting. This takes your skills WAY above what you normally would have and makes your stuff that much better.

So tonight I shall be enchanting the shit out of things...

Funny enough I started using the renaming part of enchanting to simply mark who gets what items. Like when I made a set of Dragonscale armor for Aela, once I enchanted it, I called it "Aela's Dragonscale Armor". I think I only once named an item a creative "epic" name, and that was a Deadric Great Axe named Drakeflame or something.

Enchanted weapons for my orc are shit, because the Weapon Speed Shout is an "enchantment" and the shout will do nothing if you have equipped items that are enchanted already.

There's no enchant that can beat swinging as fast as you can click.

That's gotta be a bug.

I don't think it is, actually. I am pretty sure one of the tips even mentions it counts as an enchant and thus will not work with weapons that already have enchants. I remember reading that and pretty much never used the shout afterward.

I am sure someone will mod it though once the toolset it out. I see some pretty decent changes to all the shouts to make some of the less desirable ones more interesting.

I don't think it should be changed, it's already ridiculously OP as it is. I'd hate to imagine it with ANY kind of +fire dmg enchant. That'd be ridiculous.

So can anyone tell me if it's worth using Block in this? I remember it was basically useless in Morrowind and Oblivion, so I've been doing my Melee run with mace and healing spell.

I'm thinking very, very seriously about becoming a completely evil character on my next run through. I'm tired of being nice (i.e. ignoring) the idiots who get in my way or don't do what I want. On my next run through, I'm going to kill... EVERYBODY.

Also I'm curious how it will affect the gameplay.

I always liked how in Morrowind you could kill everybody including essential characters but it always told you that you had taken out someone important and that you pretty much couldn't finish the game anymore.

Some characters (assume who are meant to hang around do to story line importance) just can't be killed. Either they won't have a health bar even show up and ignore your aggressive actions, or their health will deplete and then ignore any further aggression from you. Learned this having decided to punch a someone (don't remember who) in the face with my bow for being rude.

Except they also had it on a character who wasn't involved in the plot anymore... and it was always STILL technically possible to finish the game, if you knew how.

My guy went evil last night. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. From Honorable to Murderous in about 1.4 seconds.

Block is awesome, especially once you get the magic and arrow blocking perks. When I put my shield up, if I'm in a hallway, I can just sit there and let myself gradually heal. Thanks to block, I killed every. guard. in. Riften. Simultaneously. All I had to do was find a choke point and wear them down over time. I was low 30s at the time.
Course, then I restored an earlier save :p
