[Gaming] Elder Scrolls 5 - Dawnguard is HERE!

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I just can't seem to be able to put anything into the chests and drawers. That's my problem mainly.

Gah, this is why it's a pain in the ass to be a console newbie...
Open the chest/dresser/container using the "A" button. Once it is open - highlight the item you wish to store from your inventory, & hit the "X" button to store the item. Unfortunately, for any amount less than 6, you have to hit X that many times to store them all. Greater than that and it will prompt you asking how many of that item to store.

Main thing I hate about Breezehome on Xbox is how buggy it gets. In the entire house only one weapon plaque works. The plaque above the door... nuthin. The weapon rack? Nada. Shield & weapon rack above the bed? Nope. I've bought the house in Markarth & now Riften, & had no problems with any of that.

For both the Riften & Markarth homes, I had already done everything I needed to in order to be able to buy the homes by the time the Jarl offered. The thing I like about Vlindrel is the large number of dagger cases, & Honeyside has 2 mannequins.

As far as being able to easily afford these places:

Easy money so far. Get the quest to go to the shrine of Azura to the south of Winterhold. Accept the quest given there, but when you get the Star - take it to the guy in Winterhold to exchange it for the Black Star which can capture human souls. Get a weapon with Soul Stealing enchantment to use whenever you need to refill the Black Star.

Vendor mine until you find a weapon with Banish on it & disenchant it. At this point you're golden. Enchant cheap weapons (iron/steel daggers) with Banish using the filled Black Star (or a regular grand soul). An iron dagger worth 20g is now worth 2K, & sells to vendors for over 1K. If I can find a dungeon that has humans & an enchanting table in it I can walk out with 3-4 enchanted daggers & make 3-4K with a little legwork. Hardest part is finding vendors with enough cash to buy the daggers at full price. Still working on getting my speech high enough to make that part easier.

Looks like a title update this past week fixed the issues with my weapon racks & plaques in Breezehome. Also a bunch of other issues, but only a couple of ones I've run into.

I was sitting in the commons at school the other day and overheard the conversation of the couple sitting next to me.

All I heard was.."If you skipped class to play fucking Skyrim again, I'm going to kill you."

I got a chukle. Skyrim: Destroyer of Continuing Education

I continue to be astounded at just how massive Skyrim really is. I've had several characters that didn't really get anywhere, but I've had three characters that I've played the hell out of, and I'm still finding new areas and new quests and then I'm listening to my wife play and she's finding quests and areas that I haven't found yet either, and quests from NPCs that I've talked to time and time again but never gotten a quest out of. My newest character has been a lot of fun. When the creation kit and all of the new mods came out I decided to throw together a mage, starting with conjuration and a little destruction as backup, then I decided that rather than try to predetermine what plot arcs I'd go down, I would just explore the world, take what quests I got in various places, and see where they took me. To this point (level 29), I've not once taken a carriage to get anywhere. I've only discovered the holds of Whiterun, Windhelm, and Markarth (and only Markarth because I got drunk and woke up in the temple there). I still don't feel any specific need to rush out and complete any main plot points because there are massive swaths of land that I haven't even discovered yet, plus all of the quests that they might hold. And, when conjuration/destruction started feeling too easy, I switched things up and went with heavy armor and a greatsword for 10 or 11 levels, before finding some new spells and deciding to switch back.

Having a lot of fun with my orc, trying to play it a little different. Instead of avoiding dungeons unless they have quests, I am openly trying to just span out around Whiterun, finding any and all caves, dungeons, forts and clearing them of enemies. Once I have clean out the Whiterun area, I plan to move to the next one.

I also got a mod that lets me have more then one follower now. Right now I use Lydia and a hireable, but plan to later on have my Housecarls with me almost all the time as a little bodyguard team. I know using all of them will be a bit crazy, so I plan to instead use a max of three. Going to be fun.

I still find myself preferring to run alone instead of with a companion, though I did find a few fights where it was necessary for me to bring in Lydia, and since I've done some of the start of the Companions quest line I managed to get her a nice silver great sword. But aside from that, what you've described is basically what I've been doing. I did the first part of the main questline up to killing the dragon at the western watch tower, and then just started exploring, clearing any dungeons and caves that I come across, and frequently running back to Whiterun to sell all of the crap I pick up, or to smelt all of the useless crap down into ingots (hurray for being able to turn tankards into iron).

I run alone on my sneak-thieves, and go for companions with my tanks. It is especially fun to bulldoze a dungeon with two heavies wearing Ebony Plate or Dragon Plate...

You thought you knew about quarter munchers in the 80s?
Imagine if arcades has remained the main source of gaming entertainment...

My wife has pretty much ruined all the Daedric quests, the Thief Guild line, the Assassin line, and the Magic College line for me. I'm considering myself lucky that she's not choosing a side in the civil war and that she doesn't want to do the main quest too fast.

Slowpoke. What quest line have you been doing, the "exit to windows" quest?

That woman actually looks a lot like Lydia... Good casting. So true too.

It's really silly, but I grow a unnerving attachment to my followers. So much so that I reset anytime one dies on accident. This attachment even grows over to my horse, forcing me to reset every time one gets destroyed by a dragon or giant.

Now I have all the followers and mounts set to essential, so I don't have to worry anymore. It can get a bit silly though. On my new character I fought some giants with Lydia, and she got "club launched". I finished killing the giant and looked around in the sky, catching her and watching as she plummeted at high speed to the ground. She just got up and ran over to me. Hilarious.
