Wow I was really hoping for a W40k MMO. Wha ta bummer.THQ continues its tailspin: W40K: Dark Millenium Online is now a single player game, 118 employees laid off.
I feel bad for all the people who lost their jobs yet I am ashamed to admit that when I saw that headline my first thought was "Oh man...the ONE MMO I was looking FORWARD TO!" >.<
Yeah, i find it more likely that it was because people where using the LAN to host very profitable tournaments without Blizzard getting any money or control over them at all...Blizz did it because people were using the LAN option to connect to 3rd Party matchmaking services in order to play their pirated copies of the game online, against people. I really can't blame them for it.
This is also a fair point. Too bad Starcraft has been replaced by League of Legends on TV.Yeah, i find it more likely that it was because people where using the LAN to host very profitable tournaments without Blizzard getting any money or control over them at all...

What? There are still Brood War, SC2, and LoL tournaments being run with big prize pools and huge audiences. This is also a fair point. Too bad Starcraft has been replaced by League of Legends on TV.
Look, I understand that people have grievances against EA, especially over the whole ME3 debacle but this is a TAD much, don't you agree?
Yes, and maybe then the same will happen to Activision, before the two giants manage to merge into one colossal bucket of shit.Damn EA to hell and hopefully someday the ghosts of all the companies, game lines and employees they've ruined will rise up and drag them kicking and screaming into the hellish abyss they deserve.
Want.

I WAS JUST THERE AND DID NOT SEE THIS WTF?! *cry*
I hate that sound from those phones. I'm convinced Disney figured this was the only way to get kids to want to be at World Showcase.I WAS JUST THERE AND DID NOT SEE THIS WTF?! *cry*
Though we did do the Kim Possible missions in World Showcase and that was pretty awesome.
The kim possible videophone "ringtone" is the first two thirds of the ringtone from the beepers used by the power rangers. YOUR MIND IS BLOWN.I hate that sound from those phones. I'm convinced Disney figured this was the only way to get kids to want to be at World Showcase.
Considering it's Consumer Report, I'm guessing they weigh this based on treatment of consumers, not employees, the economy, business partners, investors, etc. Housing situation lenders wouldn't be customers, nor would the people slaving at factories in China. It's hyperbolic reactions like the one you posted that allowed EA to be voted a worse company than multiple companies that have flat out done illegal things leading to deaths, economic ruin and our current housing situation.
But sure, a game company changed some games in ways you didn't like.
Yeah, First World Problems.
It's the Consumer Report, exactly, it's a blog poll on the Consumerist. Consumer Report owns them, but's not based on anything more than the voting opinions of consumerist readers.Considering it's Consumer Report, I'm guessing they weigh this based on treatment of consumers, not employees, the economy, business partners, investors, etc. Housing situation lenders wouldn't be customers, nor would the people slaving at factories in China.
In that case, to BowieLee, only this stuff would get EA voted worst company. No one's going to vote a company worst because of shady practices that don't affect the customer. It's the Consumer Report, exactly, it's a blog poll on the Consumerist.
