[Webcomic] PVP Discussion

...its called The Trenches. :p
Whoops! Man I must have been hella tired when I was posting this, mixing up the names and what-not. Either that or I was so confused as to what made the main character interesting that I mixed up the names of the comic and the cartoon within the comic. WE GET IT! He's the awkward guy in the office whom were supposed to relate to. I'm tired of relatable.

Does anyone else feel that Skull has gotten too...human? I mean I don't even see him as the silly troll fired from UO anymore, it's like he's just some fat guy with a short girl-friend. It's more of a visual aesthetic than anyting nowadays.

It has been noted that he's lost his sweet & innocent demeanor. In fact, after Brent he got assigned to a kid he killed!!

Yeah what the hell was up with that? It's not like in the beginning where Skull was crude but silly and sarcastic but way different. It seems from then on after his reasignment he wasn't as sweet as lovable as he used to be and just became more and more realistic.

This comic has changed drastically over the decades. So, unfortunately, has the artist.
Gone from a guy simply puttin' stuff on the web, to a DIVA puttin' stuff on the web. Also just putting this out there, no stage presence. I've seen him speak at convention lectures, the guy does not WOW an audience.

If you want to see Skull the Troll being friendly to kid's again, here is next week's arc, done by Penny-Arcade.

Edit: For those asking how I got it, I used the very technical process of changing the date in the filename.

Also notice that Gabe and Tycho were able to get this done, despite having to do their own workload AND do their PAX stuff, without missing a strip of their own. Really, I don't understand how he can be so lazy.

Probably because he actually does have talent, and the attention span of a cocker spaniel. He's trained himself to the mindset of "I know I can do this in an hour." and then gets distracted by every little bright, shiny object around him. Instead of sitting down on a Monday, working his but off for 8 hours and getting 2-3 strips done, he sits and talks about his weekend, looks at all his email, and every other time wasting thing that can happen before he ever starts on the strips.

A little personal discipline would go so far to fix many of his problems with late strips or having to have a fill-in when he's off on a trip.

Middle panel, third strip...does anyone else see...Kurtz there? I got a "that's Kurtz's face" vibe from that.

Damn... that was a great comic arc... I loved it.

And then of course found out it was done by the Penny Arcade guys.

KUUUUURRRRRRTTTZZZZZZ!!!!

My quote was best because it had a fat joke

So yeah, after this week, who's ready for guest-comics that outshine the actual comic?
Oh, I have no doubt that Kurtz isn't going to feel up to posting the actual comic after coming back from Australia. And after dealing with Jet Lag, he may just forget the cliffhanger he left off on.
