Bill Maher is also a political pundit. He's been on multiple cable news networks as a political commentator in addition to hosting his own political show. Oddly enough, the views expressed during his punditry exactly match his views, more vulgarly stated, during his stand up. It's just another liberal trying to hide behind the "it's comedy" shield whenever his political demagoguery starts to get him in trouble. Sorry, you don't get to do the hokey pokey and put your left foot in, out, and shake it all about that sort of thing and not get labelled for what you are.Doesn't make it any less of a comedic act. Good or not.
By Rush/NPR's logic, CK Louis is a racist, white supremist, mysoginistic, pedofile.
There ya go, now you see why he looks for false equivalencies when Republican pundits say something horrible.I was wrong. You actually believe it. My mistake.
I'll tell you what I really believe, and that is Bill Maher is no comedian. He just expresses what he really feels, and people are spurred to laugh because they can't believe anybody would say what he does and be serious. Much like you "liked" my post because you thought I couldn't possibly believe what I was posting.I was wrong. You actually believe it. My mistake.
Yeah, yeah, it's not hypocrisy when democrats do it. We know already, Krisk. There ya go, now you see why he looks for false equivalencies when Republican pundits say something horrible.
As usual, I didn't say that, but I don't have to tell you that, do I?Yeah, yeah, it's not hypocrisy when democrats do it. We know already, Krisk.
It was, however, a succinct summation of your position taken to its logical extrapolation. As usual, I didn't say that, but I don't have to tell you that, do I?
No, it wasn't, but don't let that stop you. I'm sure everyone us quite used to you doing this when you don't have a leg to stand on.It was, however, a succinct summation of your position taken to its logical extrapolation.
In the same manner they're used to you bailing on an argument the instant anybody starts going into detail? No, it wasn't, but don't let that stop you. I'm sure everyone us quite used to you doing this when you don't have a leg to stand on.
I don't have an opinion or a point. I just point and laugh at all the hilarity that is Talk Radio these days.See, this thread is a microcosm of what is wrong in this country. No one on either side wants to admit they're wrong or that the other guy has a point.
Circular logic is not going into detail. Hearing the same argument over and over again doesn't mean I bailed, it means I got BORED.In the same manner they're used to you bailing on an argument the instant anybody starts going into detail?
That's not entirely fair. I always admit when I am wrong or when someone else provides what I consider a good point.See, this thread is a microcosm of what is wrong in this country. No one on either side wants to admit they're wrong or that the other guy has a point.

I was not defending Rush.See, this thread is a microcosm of what is wrong in this country. No one on either side wants to admit they're wrong or that the other guy has a point.
Yeah, that's a smidge on the overconfi... wait, no, NPR... that's a smidge on the overpanicked side. Romney's got a tough road ahead because his record shows he's really just Diet Vanilla Obama... so the right will have a hard time deciding to vote or stay home, and the left will just vote for non-diet Obama anyway. The other hilarious thing I heard today was that now they're saying that Romney is going to be a landslide based on "Not Obama" because Obama can't win on his record. Yet they turn right around and say that Obama's so desperate to win, he's resorting to creating wars that don't exist because he can't win on his record. How is that "worse" than someone winning on "Not Obama" and not based on record?
It's high quality entertainment on NPR these days, let me tell ya.
Landslide victory based on "Not Obama" *wipes tears of laughter away*
Sure it does, champ. Sure it does.Circular logic is not going into detail. Hearing the same argument over and over again doesn't mean I bailed, it means I got BORED.
Thanks for making my point.Sure it does, champ. Sure it does.
Well, somebody has to.Thanks for making my point.
I wouldn't be surprised, I'm saying it's hilarious that the pundits think that it's going to be a "landslide victory" on that ticket alone. You may be surprised how much traction "Not <blah>" gets in almost any political outcome. That doesn't mean I think it'll be enough in this case, just don't dismiss it out of hand as a general rule.
Hell, if you ask 100 Canadians about what makes up our national identity, I'll be at least 80 of them have "Not American" in their answer somewhere.
If you don't cut that out I might start to like it, and THEN what do you do to escalate? HRM?Do... do you need hugs again?
Both sides are crowing about their impending landslide victory, that I've seen. I think it's just more clamor to try to keep their respective bases motivated.I wouldn't be surprised, I'm saying it's hilarious that the pundits think that it's going to be a "landslide victory" on that ticket alone.
