Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

Okay, here's my First World Problem whine.

This woman I've been seeing off and on wants to drop by tomorrow. It's short notice but I don't really have any plans I'd have to cancel and her husband's going to be at physical therapy all day, so she's free too. Judging by the text messages she's been sending, she's horny as all hell. This should be a win all around.

I just kind of don't want to see her this weekend.

It's going to take me at least 2 hours to drive home tonight - not including time spent in the grocery store - because it rained today. There are no accidents, stalls, or blocking problems on my route home. Just rain. Not even hard rain, like in states that frequently get thunderstorms, just casual rain. It's not windy. It's not sunny in places with wet roads that cause nasty glare. It's not snowing. It's not foggy. It's not that misty, blowing rain. It's just a normal old rainy day. In Seattle. And it's going to add at least 1.25 hours to my commute time. Because apparently we have too many idiots who don't know how to drive in rain. In Seattle.

Holy shit, that would make me so goddamn furious, like Ben Stiller in a comic book movie.

Yeah, I just... I mean, it's been fun, but it's not going anywhere, and I'd rather move on to a more serious relationship with someone there's a future with.
That usually seems to be the case with people whom I know have shared similar situations. But hey, if it's no loss to you, it's no loss to you, right?

7 billion people in the world, and all of them are ahead of you, going 10 under the speed limit.

Been there!

I was driving home once and it started to rain. Of Course I slowed down a bit to drive safely in the downpour but the jack ass in front of me came to a stop... a stop.. on the interstate! I had to swerve to get around him. Of all the stupid shit. I did eventually have to stop because the visibility was so bad I couldn't even make out my hood. I at least I pulled over to do it.

I've been in storms like that, and I have no problem with people (safely) stopping or pulling off into a truck stop, or slowing way the hell down and hitting their emergency blinkers. It's the dip-shits around here who seem surprised that wet roads won't handle 80+ mph, or alternatively, seem surprised that wet roads will handle speeds above 10 mph. The really really mind boggling thing about tonight's commute was that there were accidents, but they were all upstream of my commute. If anything, they should have taken traffic off of my route, as people were bottle-necked behind the accidents; but nooooooo, it took 2.5 hours to drive 25 miles. It's rained 9 of the last 10 days, and they still don't get it. But then, if it's sunny there are massive slowdowns because no one seems to catch on to where the sun is going to shine in their eyes in time to put their sun shades down, or just to buy sunglasses. And, if it snows they drive slower than when it rains, except when they don't drive at all, or when they all abandon their cars on the freeways (and then bitch and moan when their cars are towed and they have to pay fines to get them back). About the only time people around here can drive normally is when it's about 65 - 70 degrees, cloudy, and not raining. And only then between the hours of 11am and 11:05am.

I get to spend the better part of my weekend parked in front of a Hell's Angels club taking pictures. Normally, I wouldn't post about such things here but it's so fucking routine that the Angels often have someone bring us coffee. SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH.

I feel a bit guilty. A friend of my parents went under cover with the Angels. They would only see him once every few weeks but he said he couldn't be seen hanging out with 'others' that often.

Then one night, a few years ago, they get a call from him basically saying 'I have to go away for a while. Make sure my dogs go to a good home.'

Over the next week his house was cleared out, put up for sale and my parents had to find a home for his German Shepherds.

They haven't seen him since. :( It's a shame. He was a really nice guy.

The talk about driving in the rain reminds me that I HATE a weather girl in Houston. She started the driving with hazards on when it rains thing around here. HOLY SHIT! you can't tell when someone is slowing down or changing lanes because their brake lights and turn signals are doing other things at the moment.

Your drivers are doing it wrong then, which is no surprise. You shouldn't be changing lanes or slowing down after you have your four-ways on - that should come first. The only time I see intelligent drivers with their hazards on (and the only time I use mine) is when they're going far under the speed limit and are already in the farthest right lane. Truckers do it all the time around here on the passes, when they're hauling a massive load and can't get up/down the pass at a good pace, or if there's fog, or ice, or what-have-you and they want to warn drivers behind them that there's something worth paying attention to.

Corpnet is having a major issue today. At first I thought that it was the forums running slowly, but it's bad on all pages and it's really, really bad on internal sites. Sure is a good thing I don't work for a major tech firm.

Tanked my calculus exam and freaked out afterwards and hit my head against a concrete building. Now I have a bump on my head. Fairly stupid series of events on my part.

I think I'm too emotionally dependent on my best friend. She's hoping to go to Ukraine this summer, and I'm selfishly worrying about how to cope without her for the few weeks she'd be gone. It should probably be noted that I've had strong feelings for her pretty much since the week after my aforementioned ex from the last page broke up with me two and a half years ago, but she's not interested in me that way, citing religious differences. Sometimes I worry I need help working through my emotional problems. Or at least a more active social life that involves more than a couple of people.

if you ever want to shoot le shit, there are people on the vent every so often, I pretty much just leave it on in the evening. I'll listen to you if you have no one else to vent to :)

dude I did basically the same thing with my calc final last spring, I passed out from the stress and went face down on a table in the UC. I had a big egg right in the middle of my forehead!
