Games on SALE!

Steam weekend deal is Just Cause 2 for 75% off, bringing it down to $4.99. DLC is on sale too.

I cannot recommend this game enough. It's an open-world chaos-fest, very similar to GTA and the like, but much more awesome.

Oh, but I don't recommend the DLC though. They're pretty obvious money grabs.

Snagged it. Steam has tricked me into paying for yet another game I used to pirate! Boy I hope that multiplayer mod continues to move forward. Just Cause 2 is one of the ultimate paragons of the sandbox genre.

Last I heard the bankruptcy rumors were debunked, or at the very least unconfirmed. Unless new news has come out that I missed.

Besides, free games, at least until OnLive does go down. I ain't complaining, been having a blast with Defense Grid.

No, it's not going into Bankruptcy. They went with another process, that divests the holdings to a third party. But most of the staff was fired, last I heard.

EDIT: Yeah, the CEO kept his job but fired 200 others. Basically to destroy employee equity and make it cheaper to sell.

Hmm... 50% off Torchlight... tempting, tempting. But I have enough to play so far, so maybe I'll wait until it's even cheaper.

I went to check on the new average price paid for the Humble Bundle 3. It was $6.04 when I bought it 11 days ago, now it is $6.70, but they have added 4 more games, meaning you just pay at least the average and you get 9 DRM-free games, for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android (play on every system you own), and some even include soundtracks. You can pay whatever amount you feel is worthy, and can divvy up between charity, game devs, and tip for the distributors. Expires in 3 days.

Pay whatever and get Fieldrunners, Bit.Trip Beat, SpaceChem, Uplink (SpaceChem and Uplink require a tablet if you want to play on Android)
Pay at least $1 and get Steam keys for the first four
Pay more than the current average and get the first four PLUS Spirits, World of Goo, Osmos, Anomaly: Warzone Earth, and Edge (for every system and Steam keys)

War of the Roses is 20% off for pre-order - immediate Beta Access if you already bought Mount & Blade 1 or 2.

Been playing it. It's a solid game. Stable. Not perfect, has balance issues between certain weapons but it's good.

Mounted lances >>>> everything else

For anyone with PSN Plus, Boarderlands is free this month. It's just vanilla with none of the add ons, but if you have a PSN Plus membership and haven't played this awesome game yet, you NEED to get it.

Plus your saves will give you free stuff in Borderlands 2 if your getting that.

Honestly, I played it a few years ago and wasn't all that crazy about it.

Adam and I played the entire game together. It was decent gaming that got old halfway into the game. The many zone changes made progression labourous.

Humblebundle #6 is live. I haven't reviewed any of the games or listened to the soundtracks - anyone else heard anything about the current crop?

Torchlight is an excellent Diablo-style dungeon crawler. I'm currently playing it because it can run, barely, on my netbook. This alone was enough to get me to buy the bundle.

I've heard Dustforce is a pretty fun flow-plaformer. It's got some in common with N+

Wizorb was played by X on his Youtube channel for a bit. It looks like a fun brick-breaker game with light RPG elements.

Bit.Trip Runner has gotten some pretty rave reviews as being a difficult almost rythym type game with great style.

Gratuitous Space Battles has gotten some nice buzz for being a fun over-the-top strategy game. Apparently it's a lot of fun to watch battles play out.

Jamestown has a nice soundtrack, I seem to remember enjoying it. I don't know anything else besides it's a Shmup.

Awesome Holiday 360 bundles out.

  • $399.99: 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect, Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports, and Kinect Adventures
  • $299.99: 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect, Kinect Disneyland Adventures, and Kinect Adventures
  • $299.99: 250GB Xbox 360 with Skyrim and Forza 4 Essentials Edition
Your basically getting free games.

I can't believe a 7 year old console is still in the 300+ range.
They "justify" it by releasing the Arcade version, which is 200 bucks for a 360 with a 4 gig drive. Basically only enough room to cache stuff for your games, not even install them. Hope you like load times.

Indie Royale Fall Bundle
  • To the Moon
  • Oil Rush
  • The Blackwell Deception
  • AVSEQ
  • Reprisal
Plus some music if you pay $8 or more. I got this one for The Blackwell Deception, since I liked the previous 3 games that I got in another Indie Royale Bundle. I might end up playing To the Moon as well.

I'd pay 8 bucks just for To The Moon. Laura Shigihara (Plants Vs Zombies) does music for a philosphic, sad, life-affirming story about a dying man who gets his dying wish to experience an unfulfilled wish? Yes please!

The soundtrack is pretty impressive. I've had it from one of the indie music bundles, and liked what I've heard of it.
