Freeze, Scum. I'm Batma...er...Robocop.

The recessed/matte badge is not SO much of a bad thing... nothing like having a large shiny target right over one's heart, after all...

But yes, I still VERY much prefer the 80's styling of the original to this new, edgy design. I will hold out to see how it's looking in post-production.

I will still see it, but it might just end up being a redbox rental...

Nope, I'm still making a stand. Fuck this movie and everything it represents.

Hell, even if it's heralded as the second coming, I'm refusing to support these anymore.

It'll depend a lot on effects, as far as looks go, for me.
The original *movie* had some cool points (such as what Frank posted, and a few others) where it really looked like parts of where a human body should go were missing. Compare to evilmike's picture of modern Robocop, where it's clearly just incapsulating his head. Meh.
However, in 80% of the movies, Robocop just looked like a guy in a suit - and in some scenes, especially in RC3, like a guy in a bad Halloween costume, at that. We'll see if he's convincing. But yeah, "all-black is cool" is getting old and tired.

Pretty sure that stops mattering when your a cyborg and your heart (or whatever is pumping your fluids) is behind an inch or so of ballistic materials.

This reminds me: I hope they drop the baby food thing. That was kinda stupid.

And yet, one of the more plausible parts. If we ever do make fully cybernetic bodies, there's a good chance they WILL have to resort to either IV drip feeding or mushy baby food eating. Breaking down the food we eat into energy our body can actually use? Hard.
Of course, it's a lot more realistic considering modern scientific progress that they'll just transplant some cloned bowels/stomach/as needed, which would make this unnecessary.

I would honestly be a little annoyed if they didn't add the baby food. It added a realistic element to Robocop and I always enjoy that in sci-fi. If they make a sequel to this remake and it DOESN'T have the whacky drug-lord terrorist I'm gonna be pissed.

Nah, like in GI Joe, when a studio interferes that hard in a movie's production, it's a pile of unwatchable trash.

They should make that big, blank space on the faceplate of his helmet a screen or something. Display someone's rights as he reads them. Maybe display the actual law that they broke and it's associated penalties. Really, just anything to get rid of the huge blank spot.

Maybe his utterly shiny head is for criminals to look deep into themselves as they are going to the slammer! Or its just a garrish looking helmet.

That helmet could lead to a great drinking game when it comes out on video.

Take a drink every time the camera is reflected in the helmet, and drink two every time you see a boom mic in it.

Relatively new pic, and for a split, JOYOUS, second I thought he had a robot dog sidekick.
Oh man... so did I.

Also, that still looks like a guy in a futuristic amored suit, rather than a cyborg. I mean, I realize it -is- a guy in a suit, but that doesn't mean it has to look like that.

All the exposed face....he looks like Iron Man still with his mask up.

He spends half the trailer with his face out.

Kind of missing out on the whole horror of what he really is like in the original.

Oh man... why? That original silver suit... it looked awesome. Why spray-paint it black?[DOUBLEPOST=1378424812,1378424723][/DOUBLEPOST]

Totally agree, the original with his helmet off was terrifying, he should be terrifying. He's the embodiment of a man taken over by the corporate machine.

Fuck you and your subtextual horror. This be all about the 'splosions and shit. Subtlety is for sissies.

That...doesn't look as terrible as I expected. I wanted to hold off any major complaints about the new look until I saw it in action and yeah, it's not that bad.

It's highly unlikely it'll be as good as the original, but I'm willing to give this a shot.
