I threatened, and I have done it. My old Hebrew prof would be utterly horrified at the quality of these translations. But! I present to you:
@GasBandit = shrouded from God
@Ravenpoe = fretting about God; skilled by God; circumcised (for God?)
@MindDetective = hurled by God; mountain of God...
If I had just a bit more energy, I'd be going through all these names and seeing what they would actually translate to on Hebrew, since that is what I think most 'el' names come from. But I don't have the mental energy at the moment to do that level of verb conjugation.
It would amuse me...
Had a 2nd round job interview today (for a bank/IT job). Went well, I think. One of the pieces of feedback I got was: "tell fewer stories, be more concise."
Also taking a class all this week (churchy doctorate stuff). Going well, I think. One of the pieces of feedback I've gotten is: "tell...
The voice actor for Charlie Brown, the one who voiced that character in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" (1965) and "It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (1966), among others, has died at the age of 65 by suicide. [link]
Fuck.
As a Peanuts fan, this one hurts.
I got @Eriol Astroneer for Christmas, and he was having enough fun that he got me a copy and we've created a co-op world.
Today, we did this (and yes, my youtube channel has my full real name, I trust y'all not to be dinguses):

Applying for jobs has got to be one of the most soul-sucking activities on the planet. I hate it I hate it I hate it.
And cover letters can fuck right off too.
(Applying for church jobs sucks too, but in a very different way than applying for 'real' jobs, which is what I'm currently doing...
This is a weird one, at least for me.
Eriol's 40th birthday is coming up in mid-February, and one of the things I'd like to do is have him receive ALL the birthday cards. Because of all the moves we've done, and Covid, I think he's feeling a bit isolated at the moment, and I want to help him...
If I could move out of the city I'm currently in, I would still be looking in my current field. There are some good positions, but they're not in this province. ... So... not so much with the moving at the moment.
I'm looking for jobs - outside of the industry I have been working in for the last 5+ years! It sucks!
Like, I know that I can do the work described, I know that I have the appropriate (if slightly rusty) training, and I know that I'm better at *ALL* the soft skills too, but will they talk to...
Too... Much... Food....
Ham, stuffed baked potato, creamed corn, brussel sprouts with bacon, turnip and apple casserole, dutch apple pie, pecan pie, vanilla ice cream.
And cider.
Food coma time.
They do. And it sucks. Mine had to be retaliated against with a scalpel a number of years ago. A vicious battle, to be sure. But it was successfully vanquished.
And the second parcel has arrived!
Delicious peanut butter treats! There were a few casualties during transit, but only 1 or 2, which is very good.
They are very good with coffee, and fascinating in general - completely different than anything that I've had before.
Thank you Santa Hawk!
