I passed my license test! I am now a Licensed Security Systems Installer.
There is only 1 province that licenses this trade. I never took the course and just challenged the test. I needed 70% to pass and got 81%. I finally at 42 have a piece of paper that says what I know and can do.
I grew up I Kelowna, I am not surprised. My mom always asks when/if I'll move back. I've been where I am for 18 years and I only spent 12 there. Where I am now is home. I hate that town.
The cultural differences between Langley, Abbotsford, Mission and Chilliwack are crazy, and they're only an hour apart. That's my working area nd it's nuts how different the people are while being only 60Km away.
I have had low grade depression for longer than I didn't, no joke I'm 42 and have been depressed since I was 14-15. Not enough to need meds, but enough to need help. Unfortunately growing up the only solution was to either pretend that everything was great, or to pray and then proceed to pretend...
I just got banned from r/conservative. Someone said the left-wing controlled media were like the Nazis by controlling the narrative. I asked them which party was defunding libraries and banning books.
No big loss to me. If they want their safe-space that's fine with me
The townhouse we bought 7 years ago for $240,000 would sell for $680,000 now. There is no way I could ever move unless I left the Fraser Valley and moved up into the boonies.
I always saw it as 'higgins'. I didn't realize that this incarnation of the forum is over 14 and change years old. I joined the previous-previous incarnation (image comics) over 20 years ago. Goodness I feel old, almost as old as Dave.
The nut (thing that keeps the strings where they need to be) on my mandolin broke yesterday. I bought the tools and a new piece of bone and made one this evening and it works! It's not the prettiest, but it is functional.
