Sent you a PM, Far.

Also people, the game this week will be at 7:30 pm EST, so if you show up at the old time, you'll be allll allloooooone...

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

Very nice. Did anyone tell him the party make up before hand though?

We have a Warlock, Barbarian and Cleric. We have massive damage output coupled with a pacifist cleric (massive healing). So you may want to not take powers/feats that duplicate those effects.

I've built a two handed sword weilding maniac Dragonborn Fighter who lives only for fighting. His philosophy is: You only have so much time on this earth, so you should do what you love. I love fighting and I'm damn good at it. Should be fun. *evil grin*

Doom posted the sheet two posts up from yours; I'm looking over it now. I'll have a way for you to fit into things for tomorrow night.

Sending you a PM as to your magic item.

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

I'll be playing the razorclaw shifter druid Bryn Rovar, if that works for the group. Also, Esc let me know if those magic items work for you, if not, I'll gladly swap them out.

Bryn Rovar

*Not an exact likeness, should have that done a bit later as well as a bit more insight into his personality.

Some backstory perhaps?

Bryn was found as an infant by a group of nomadic elves who took him in and raised him as their own. While none of the elves were particularly cruel to Bryn, he had always felt out of place with them. Though grateful for their hospitality over these many years, he began to feel an intense wanderlust, as the area covered by the elves was paltry compared to what lie beyond in the vast, untamed wilderness.

Whilst the elves were bartering with a band of merchants, Bryn overheard them describing a magnificent kingdom to which they were headed. Upon learning that there was more to this world than the forests and hills that he had known all his life, Bryn immediately began gathering his belongings as discreetly as possible.

When the merchants left that night on their way toward Remica, Bryn lie quietly on the undercarriage of one of the wagons, dreaming of the great cities and adventures that he would partake in the years to come, though they would often turn into horrid nightmares of things much more disturbing, cities seemingly made of insects and on occasion himself, swathed from head to toe, enveloped in an insect sheath. Weeks passed like this as they travelled and all the while Bryn remained hidden, venturing out only at night to forage and stretch.

Unbeknownst to Bryn, as well as the rather simple merchants whom he journeyed with, the wagon to which he had made himself a passenger held something that was a great deal stranger than their normal mundane goods. Wrapped in a strange, sweet-smelling cloth lie a small wooden box that the traders had picked up with a multitude of other items in an estate sale.

Just outside of the borders of Remica the caravan was besieged by a group of bandits who had set up several swinging log traps, one of which struck the wagon carrying both Bryn and the box. Bryn was violently thrown from the wreck and landed just off the main road as the box was smashed into tiny splinters, releasing a torrent of ravenous insects that engulfed bandits and merchants alike.

Groggily Bryn came to just as the swarm darted for him. He raised his arms in front of him in a vain effort to shield himself from the mass. Almost in the same instant he could feel the weight of the horde hit him and then...nothing. He expected to be torn asunder by the thousands of pincers, stingers and pedipalps and yet when he opened his eyes the swarm was gone. He couldn't explain it but revelled in his luck.

One of the bandits had managed to avoid the swarms wrath and saw Bryn splayed out on the ground. The bandit pounced, launching himself recklessly at him. At the sound of the commotion, Bryn spun around just in time to avoid a fatal blow, catching the bandits blade across his right hand instead, severing the thumb at the knuckle. As it fell to the ground it metamorphosed into a small swarm of the same insects that erupted from the box. Both the bandit and Bryn looked down at the pile of insects that writhed on the ground where the bit of thumb fell and then the bandit fled. Bryn threw out his arm and a sea of insects flew from the tips of his claws as his own body became the swarm and fell upon the bandit.

Both shocked, horrified and bewildered at what had just happened, Bryn continued on towards Remica with his newly-acquired powers.

Those are fine, Far. Welcome to the game.

We at last have a full party! I look forward to our game, tomorrow at 7:30 EST. I'll be thinking up fun ways to get you guys into events ASAP until then. The trio's boat is arriving in Fishville at the moment.

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

Remind me to stay out of his blast radius!

So we now have a;
Raging Barbarian from the North on a personal vendetta
Refined warlock of nobility
Blind cleric
Angry dragonborn
Mysterious swarm of insects

Should be good

Bit more insight into Bryn:

Bryn is extremely startled and mystified by the powers he has acquired but figures since they seemingly aren't going anywhere, he may as well make use of them. Though not extremely well versed socially he tries and is fascinated by the world around him as it is all new to him. At this point in his life he is very naive regarding how the world operates outside of the tiny elf camp. He wants and strives to do good and be decent, however the stigma that his powers bring often cause others to fear him before understanding that he harbours them no ill will. Often he does what he can to shine through this with a bright disposition but it regularly reminds him that he has yet to find his place in the world, as in every society he has experienced so far he has felt like an outsider.

Bryn is a razorclaw shifter and as such looks mostly like a human though has a few feline qualities to his appearance, most notable being large claws on his hands, pointed ears, a broad flattened nose and yellow cat-like eyes. His body is covered in a light gray fur with black at the ends of his ears as well as medium length black "hair". He carries with him a staff and hide armor given to him by the elves that raised him so he could hunt and earn a place in their group and takes these with him on his adventure. Bryn has an athletic build and the quick, sly, often subtle movements of a cat and stands just short of 6".

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

Rathkor's parents were killed by bandits when he was young. He was raised in a small Dragonborn village. Growing up, he found himself becoming more and more restless. He did't know why, but something inside him was constantly hungering for something, but he wasn't sure what it hungered for. And he wouldn't know until several months after his 22nd birthday, when his village was visited be a large group of bandits He was asleep in his bed when the attack began, but was awoken by the painful cries of a bandit who had been hit by one of the villager's Dragon Breath. Rathkor jumped to his feet and joined the others in defending the village. Rathkor encountered a bandit, who tried to attack him with a dagger. Rathkor grabbed the bandi't wrist, and snapped it like a twig. The bandit dropped his dagger and howeled in agony. Rathkor picked up the dagger and sliced the bandit's throat. Rathkor found himself fascinated by the blood pouring from the wound. He then used the dagger to fight several more badits, taking glee in the act of murdering each and every bandit he came across. It was from that moment that he realised why he was so restless, and what he was alwars hungering for. He had a strong bloodlust, he hungered to fight and kill. He picked up the best weapons and armor he could find, and set out with the intent of finding and killing as many stron opponents as he could find, and always looking for better and stronger weapons and armors. He still isn't sure weather or not he lives for fighting and killing, or if he hopes to die gloriously in the grips of battle, but he does know he plans on doing a lot of fighting before he dies.

Glad people had fun tonight. Golddrink should be interesting next week.

Everyone should be at 4410 experience now.

Rathkor, you picked a vial of Spotted Toadstool Venom (level 10) from the captain's vest, and found a Luckblade +1 in his treasure chest.

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

I think Bryn needs a new alarm clock.

Had fun tonight, sorry if I was a little slow with rolls and attacking, still getting used to gametable and playing as a pc. Keep thinking I'm supposed to be keeping track of so much more as I've only dm'd prior.

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

Is the Luckblade a Fullblade? also, what does the venom do?

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

Luckblade +1 is a Fullblade, gives +1 to attack and defense melee rolls, and as a daily, you may reroll one attack, but you must use the second roll, even if it's lower.

The poison is a one-shot consumable. You put it on your weapon and the next hit grants you a secondary attack, +13 vs Fort, and the enemy is weakened if that hits. Then the effect is gone from the weapon and the poison is gone too.

Far: You did just fine. You're just getting the hang of it, and you'll pick up on speed. As for actual mechanics though, you knew what you were doing, and that's what really is important.

I'm glad we have you two joined to the group. Should provide some interesting character stuff and fun battles.

Would luckblade increase Dragon Breath, or only sword related techniques?

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

You have to use your sword, so no to unarmed, no to dragon breath. Just like when Aurora got her dagger, it didn't increase her spells' attack and damage; that only just happened from the wand she got at the beginning of tonight.

Esc, I'm going to have to duck out about 15 minutes early this Wednesday. I agreed to go to a play with the lady that she has to see for school and it starts at 8. Plans were made before I joined the group and I was only just reminded of them moments ago. It shouldn't be an issue in the future.

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

Julie's been in traffic for an hour and a half, still not home, Far has to leave early, Julie would've had to leave early, HC's not here, and my plans for tonight kinda centered on Jaisahn for the coming into Golddrink...

Sorry guys, we're gonna have to cancel tonight.

Darn, ok, see you guys next week (some of you tomorrow).

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

I was so looking forward to your game today too. As much as I've enjoyed DMing my little game, it kind of sucked to be thrown into DnD and not even get to play as a PC which is why I was excited when my schedule opened up. My DMing duties are wrapping up in my own game soon though, about three more encounters left to go, then someone else is taking over for a bit.

Completely understand about the postponement today though. I think I need to find Bryn a new place to sleep however. With those storms you mentioned last time I don't know if the crows nest is the best place to shack up.

Esc's 4e Game, GAME ON

You guys avoided the storms... for now.

Julie didn't get home until an hour and 15 after the game would've started and I was too worried to focus on DMing; with HC gone and you leaving early, it just wasn't working out for a myriad of reasons. It was no one in particular's fault.

State of Affair - I picked up a nasty flu during my stay in Toronto and I have been mostly bed-ridden the last 3-4 days. I missed work today to get back to shape. This means that I'm probably going to pull in some major hours this week to get my work back on track. This means I fully plan to work overtime the next few days. So sadly, don't count on me to be in your game or to be able to host my game this week... again. :(

Fuck Toronto, seriously.
