Okay, all sheets are in--I'll assume HC doesn't want another language unless he tells me tomorrow, or something.
Remember, we agreed that braille was a language substitution, so if the character builder asks for something just throw in Dwarven as a place holder and we can ignore it.

Gotta say this character has the easiest macros to write :) 8 powers, only 2 damage macros.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

Blind pacifist cleric hits and accidentally kills more creatures than the striker...bad rolls, very bad rolls.

=el bump o=

Good game last night, I think we can make three characters work. Not that it would have helped much, but I think you were forgetting your prime shot bonus last night Julie.

Heh I like this healer character :)

Three Blind Mice
A play by Darryl, Hugh, Jay and Julie

Cast
Jaisahn Jangelles, mild mannered cleric of Pelor – played by Hugh
Kraag, violent barbarian bent on vengeance – played by Jay
Aurora, English elven warlock of the high court – played by Julie
Narrator – played by Darryl

Act 1
Scene 1 - The dockyards.
Kraag and Aurora are each trying to gain the attention of the Constable Cornelius for their own reasons. Both are rebuffed and sent on their way.

Jaisahn observes the interaction and decides to follow Kraag, because he recognizes him as a troubled man and wishes to help. Aurora follows because she is disturbed to see a blind man driving a wagon with such skill.
Scene 2 - The bar.
Inside a local watering hole, Kraag tries to learn more about a boy who was recently murdered, as it harkens back to his own quest. He engages the bartender and spends heavily on drink.

Jaisahn follows Kraag into the bar, but despite his obvious associations with a god of kindness is accosted by a group of thugs. The try to bully him, but he has none of it, and the promptly leave the bar after Aurora shouts at them.

Outside the bar, try to steal Jaisahn cart and donkey, but are detected. Jaisahn pleads with them to act peacefully, but is attacked for his actions. Aurora screams a bevy of battle cries and wildly attacks the goons with magic. This attracts Kraags attention, who leaves the bar and engages the villains in hand to hand combat.

The villains prove no match for the trio, who despite being blind and eye bitten, force the rogues into full retreat.

The rogues are run down, and finally captured in the home of a blacksmith near the bar
Scene 3 – The house of a blacksmith
Here Aurora terrorizes the household and the capture thief. He returns the money pouch stolen from Jaisahn, and Aurora gives the villain to the cleric for punishment.

To the shock and horror of the warlock, Jaisahn heals the thief, forgives him, gives him money and asks that he strive to seek out the light in all things before sending him on his way.

Kraag meanwhile is consoling the blacksmith after learning that his son was the boy recently murdered.

Aurora decides to act as chief inquisitor to the crown and demands to see the boy and crime scene. Jaisahn meanwhile says prayers for the young child and prepares his body for the afterlife. In his meditations he hears a sound outside and relays this information to the others.

Aurora bursts outside and finds the thief still present, but this time scavenging oil from the crime scene. A loud interview by Aurora reveals the source of the oil. The trio return to the bar to collect Jaisahns wagon and donkey but not before he tends to the body of a fallen thief. Much to Auroras displeasure.
Scene 4 – the bar
Kraag finds one of the thieves who fled and grills him for several minutes about the robbery attempt, who he works for and learns more about the oil manufacturer. Aurora yells some more. Mr Bo Jangelles barks a bit.
Scene 5 – the oil refinery
The trio enter the refinery and Aurora takes to grilling the owner, Mr Douglas about the appearance of his oil at a crime scene. He naturally is insulted as his oil is needed across the city and sold to thousands. He does let it slip that he is worried about his assistant Pip is overdue from his errands and has odd hobbies.

Aurora takes the odd hobbies idea a bit far and demands to search the boys room, and Mr Douglas gladly agrees. In the process of search the room, Aurora triggers a trap and the three heroes are attacked by a fiendish undead monster.

Kraag and Jaisahn manage to subdue the monster, just in time for Pip to return. It is clear that the monster that was created by Pip was what killed the blacksmiths son. Pip protests that it was not him, and eventually Jaisahn shows that it was indeed the monster but Pip did not force it to kill the boy.

Aurora then interrogates Mr Douglas and it is soon revealed that he and the blacksmiths wife have had a long running affair and that the slain child was Douglass and the most likely killer was the blacksmith.

This information is relayed to Constable Cornelius and they heroes proceed to take the villains off to jail in Jaisahns wagon.

Mundane things;

We have reached a milestone.
Our current XP is 800 a piece.
We have found no treasure.

Jaisahn - gave 1 gold to the rogue, used 10 GP of ritual components on the dead boy
Kraag - spent 10 gp on alcohol and took a mug from the bar!
Aurora - had her map marked by a thief

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

For 5G a drink, those mugs are complementary IMO!

I'm glad you guys had fun last night. I'll try to see if I have time to get the recording edited and up before I leave for New York on Saturday.

Unless something unexpected happens, the game should start at 6:30 Eastern as planned, but will likely end around 9. That'll just be for next week. My intended end time for games will be 10 PM EST unless we're in the middle of something or about to come to a closing point anyway.

And I will do summaries, since I know from the start now Jay likes them. It's just too cumbersome for Julie's game now being 10 sessions in to get into much detail.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

Sorry about the delayed start last night, never really expected to have to deal with two separate long distance crisis in the same hour.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

Not a problem. I just felt bad keeping Julie up so long, now two nights in a row. But it was stuff you had to take care of. No big deal.

Intended stop time will be 10 though, except next week since I'll just be getting back from NY that day.

Episode 1: Surrogate Investigators

In which Kraag arrives in Caragi, searching for contacts to the man who murdered his family, Jaisahn the blind cleric looks to do good for the island expedition, only to be swept up in helping Kraag, and Aurora, noble and friend to the Queen, is bored and decides to follow out of curiosity's sake. Their personal endeavors are delayed by a pack of starving thieves, and the three are soon embroiled in solving the murder of a dead child.

Thanks for the audio feed, will check soon. :)

So after solving the mystery of the slain boy, do we want to find a way to the island?

Unfortunately, Darryl's bus is trapped in Rush Hour traffic in the heart of DC. He said he may not get home until 7:15 - 7:30 EST. He still wants to have the game, however.

EDIT: Plan to be on at 7:35.

6:30 Eastern; hope you guys like what we're doing tomorrow.

I certainly like how I got the level 2 changes from everyone except the player living with me.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

Not only did I choose my ability but I also updated my macros 15 minutes after our game ended last week!

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

I have decided to change my 3rd At Will power from Recuperating Strike to Howl of Fury.

Now Kraag has twice the howl, Darryl shall cowl and cry fowl.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

=Jaisahn gets some wool and knits Kraag a nice Cincture of Vivacity.=

And there are lots of hard choices for a Warlock at 2nd level, so I am sure Julie is just saving the surprise for tomorrow.

Why are they hard choices? I'm lost.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

Hard as in you have a lot of very good options to choose from.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

7 minions, 4 brutes, 4 skirmishers and 2 leaders all defeated without the use of healing word!

Go Go Kraag slaughtering machine!
Warlock powers activate, form of 8 teleports!
And a blind man groping clothes.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

Kraag hits hard. :O

Solid work with the map work Darryl. I appreciate the effort.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

Thanks, Jay.

Yeah, again, sorry about all the enemies. Things just kind of snowballed, like I said, and it got carried away. I had a simple plan and it didn't got that way :p. Was supposed to be less chessboard, more exciting rooftop situation, but ah well, part of D&D is the unexpected. Next week will be interesting for me to plan considering the number of options available; I'll just have to do my best.

Anyway, experience. I just realized that the monster totals in the Monster Manuals are supposed to be divided between the players, not what each player gets. A lot of the first session's experience was RP choices, which weren't so hot this time in some cases, but you dished it out on a lot of enemies. 730 exp for each.

The brown cloaked assassins had a total of 7 knives, 7 swords, and 6 full vials of yellow poison.
Kraag: Dante had a sword, a dagger, a hand crossbow (forearm device), a Circlet of Second Chances, and inside his hidden pockets you find a level 1 Antivenom (consumable), and a level 9 Whetstone of Venom (consumable).

EDIT: A note. I'm gonna be keeping track of supplies. If you intend to travel, buy rations if you haven't, or prepare to bum off Jaisahn, or let me know when you're hunting. Starvation can happen.

Esc's 4e Game, get your reward for ale & whores

I have a business meeting next Wednesday that may delay my joining the game for half hour or so.

As to the treasure, Jaisahn doesn't need any of those items. If those are longswords though, Aurora could use one.

As to plots; to find the villains we have the clue of the body mark (Escushion could you summarize what was found on the body?), the poison, and the gear found on Dante as possible leads.

The plot involved at least 13 people so we are dealing with a large organization, one that is either large enough to erase their knowledge from people or large enough to intimidate people into not talking.

Best Line last night "Jaisahn you don't intimidate anyone."

Top 3 Lines of the Night

DM : "The guards look at you with anger as the Queen's praises to you over them has shamed them."
Jaisahn : "I try to intimidate."
*rolls a 5*
DM : "Jaisahn you don't intimidate anyone."
Kraag : "I'm going to as well, I snarl at the guards staring at me!"
*rolls a crit*
DM : "All the guards look away".
*Kraag grunts*

YEAAAAAAAAAAH!

Dante : "You don't know who you're messing with!"
Kraag : "You don't know how many bodies I've left in my wake!"
*Dante sweats*

Jaisahn : "You could go into the woman's room and check up on Winter, Kraag."
*Kraag smiles*
Aurora : "There are no gentlemen allowed in the woman's room!"
Jaisahn : "You hear that Kraag? No gentlemen, you can go in."
*Kraag chuckles*
*Aurora frowns*

-------

As far the loot goes. I guess since I'm the only one who truly melees that whetstone could default to me. We should also do an Arcana on that poison to gather its use.

The circlet could be useful considering Kraag gets in melee gleefully but if someone else feels they really want it, I'm fine with that.

Esc's 4e Game, UPDATE: seeking another member (or two!)

I've updated the topic to let people know we're seeking a fourth and fifth member. The group's doing fine as three, but more are welcome.
