Funny Pictures Thread. It begins again

I think I have to agree with Espy on this. It's not like "OMG that's so offensive! How could you?!?" or anything that extreme, but they do boarder more on creepy than funny. And I like Deadpool, but I'm not that thrilled with the idea of sexually harassing someone for "laughs". Again, it's not horrible or earth-shattering, but ehhh... more uncomfortable than funny.

Good "sexist" humor is generally making a point about something society overlooks or thinks of as "ok". The dead pool image just says it's worth the consequences to sexually harass someone. It could be funny but it's not clever enough, just crude.

Considering we have women on the board who have probably had this kind of disturbing mentality aimed at them (especially the cosplayers) I don't think it's a smart post in this thread. I guess if people think that's hilarious then... Well, maybe it's worth looking at why that is, because I think we can do better.

Analyzing jokes is never fun, because it kills the joke, but ok. I don't think that image has a message of 'sexual harrassment is worth the consequences,' the humor comes from DEADPOOL thinks it is.

If you change the identity of the characters, the joke no longer works, and then becomes crude.

No, go nuts. If people think that's hilarious that's cool. I'm not going to mod it or anything. I find the message very disturbing and I'm disappointed it's posted here, especially given we have people here who have actually had to deal with that sort of scenario.

But I realize that isn't a popular opinion here. That's ok.

I don't see how that says it's OK to do it. On the contrary: he got what he deserves, namely, a huge beating. It's funny (ish. I don't think it's hilarious, but that doesn't really have much to do with it being sexist in my mind) because it's Deadpool and She-Hulk.

Deadpool looking at a "regular" woman and hitting her on the ass, getting away pretty much unscathed, saying "hey, worth it"? Not funny. A regular guy hitting She-Hulk's ass and being bludgeoned to death? Not funny. This is somewhat funny because it's cartoonish exaggeration. There's whole loads of things happening in comics (and cartoons even more so) that we wouldn't find funny or hilarious at all in real life - this is the whole foundation of Itchy and Scratchy being the "larger than life" version of Tom and Jerry.

If you really consider this to be saying "sexually harassing a woman is ok", are you also of the opinion The Simpsons is sending the message that parents are free to strangle their children, and children shouldn't feel bad about doing things that can seriously injure or kill?

Well, to be fair, yes, it is sexist. But it's deadpool being sexist, and deadpool isn't exactly a role model.

That's not a cosplayer. That's the actual she-hulk. Which is why it's funny. You'd have to be some kind of immortal psychotic idiot to think doing that was a good idea.

But on that note, the whole "inappropriate touching of girls is ok if it is met with immediate overreactive application of violence" is an entire standard trope in animated entertainment.

Maybe that is something that needs changing, but this is starting to get a little Esjaydoubleyewey.

Funniest thing I've seen from E3 season.

Has to be old, though. 802.11b networking, PC100/133 SDRAM, and an underpowered heatsink.
