Eyes of the Dragon was the first novel I read for fun that wasn't a class assignment or something.
She might be on to something. Mine was Skeleton Crew. Which probably did multiball levels of damage because it was a compendium of short stories.
Funny enough, there's a narrative podcast that is basically Back to the Future, but for today. It's called Nicki Fix's Time Mix. It wears its Back to the Future inspiration on its sleeve, but it's a pretty fun listen. It touches on how we've become reliant on our cell phones. It's not the main focal point, but it's there. And the main character's parents are two guys, so when she travels back to the 90s, they even touch on gay rights. It's nothing award winning, but it's a fun listen if you have a spare 6 hours (12 episodes, 30 minutes each).
