Games on SALE!

Humble Jumbo Bundle 3

I'm sharing this link, not because I think it's a good bundle, but because it's got an interesting gimmick.

As usual, some games are available for any price:
- Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure
- Always Sometimes Monsters
- Insurgency (with 3 copies to share)
Then there's more for beating the average:
- GRID 2
- Blackguards
- Euro Truck Simulator 2
- More to come
The blatant attempt to bump up the average price:
- Saints Row IV

Then there's the twist that I haven't seen before:
Share Insurgency to Unlock:
- Full Mojo Rampage

Is it worth it? Nothing I've seen about any of these games says it is, though nothing says it isn't. I certainly wouldn't pay $12 if all you want is SR4, since I got the "Game of the Century" edition for $10.19 not too long ago, and it'll be on sale again before too long. That complete edition might even be part of a Humble Bundle in the future.

GoG.com is having a big Fall sale right now.

The big news is that as of this writing, they're giving away Mount & Blade for free. Just scroll down about a third down the page and you should see where you redeem it.

Mount & Blade, or Mount & Blade: Warband?

It's not as awesome as Warband but it's free and it's a solid game. Make sure to get it and more importantly the free awesome mods that makes it even better.

There's a samurai mod for Warband that adds a lot of really nice features. I also liked the Crusades mod - Deus Vollt I think it was called.

Warband has some "Good Bad" effects. Like watching a dude totally walk off a castle's parapet and fall to his death. The sounds of injury are so goofy as to be comical. Playing "Whack A Minion" with a spiked morning star while defending a castle.

There's a hentai (I think) game on sale right now on Steam. If people didn't have a choice when you gift them games I would buy a copy for EVERYONE on my friends list.

Pretty sure I know the one you're talking about.

One of the reviews:

"I wish I had bought pizza or kebab or blow up doll instead."

If you hold down control, you can speedrun the whole game in 2 minutes and 3 seconds.
Thats all the time I need.

The stuff on sale's either stuff I've already got, or stuff not discounted enough for me to take the plunge.

Though I get to ponder whether I want to spend twelve and a half bucks on the full version of Civ 5 again, like I do every sale. I have the base game, I have the first expansion, I have some of the DLCs... how much do I want to play the full game? Decisions, decisions...

I remember from one of the gaming nights there are a few of us who still haven't picked up Left 4 Dead... well, it may be worth it to hold out a little longer, as this is the first steam sale in a while I can remember where L4D2 has NOT come down to 5 dollars (it's 10 right now).[DOUBLEPOST=1417071012,1417070726][/DOUBLEPOST]None of the stuff I really have my eye on is on sale to any real degree - War for the Overworld (the spiritual Dungeon Keeper 3) is a paltry 10% off, Rust has no discount whatsoever, and Starpoint Gemini is only 33% off and still above $20. No deal. Road Redemption is $15, but that's only 20% off... I think it can come down more.

Guns of Icarus Online is currently just under four bucks. The people on this forum that decided to fly with Skycaptain Poe (the handsomest, daringest skycaptain around) can tell you that it's a pretty fun team-based zeppelin combat game. They can also tell you that @Jay can't shoot straight.

How's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow? (not Lords of Shadow 2)
It's...okay. I guess. When it's good it's very good, but there is a lot of filler in the game - although that filler is more tedious than throw-the-controller-at-the-wall-infuriating like LoS2. Overall I enjoyed it but don't think I'm ever likely to bother replay it.

But if you do buy it do NOT, I repeat do NOT, buy the DLC. Infuriating platform sections where one mistake knocks you back to the last checkpoint, followed up by a massively cheap final boss.

I have it, but I have no gaming buddies. Do you guys ever play? I reiterate that I suck at multiplayer games.

Depending on the day/time of that day I might be able to play L4D2 - I haven't played any online FPSes for about 7-8 years though, so I'd probably not be that great.

I'd love to join in on a HF game of L4D2. Skill level doesn't matter to me, as long as people are having fun. Losing in hilarious fashion to friends beats out winning with grumpy strangers.

Humble Bumble has a major 80% sale on a number of titles. The one that I'm eyeing very with heavy consideration?

Saints Row Ultimate Franchise Pack, $13.74
Includes Saints Row 2, 3, and IV...and ALL the DLC for each of them.

Goddamn, that sounds like a great deal.
It is. 2 was a bad console port, but it's my favorite plotwise in the series. 3+4+all DLC... that's a damn good deal.

The featured sale games today made me laugh. The only one I didn't own is The Forest, and I'm not buying that.

Another Steam sale where I don't buy anything I guess.

There have been a number of sales that have appealed to me (the Lego games, most notably), but I have so many amazing, unplayed, games that I already own... I just can't justify buying anything more at the moment. I'm mostly tempted by the Lego games because I know I'd love to have something relatively simple to play if I get sick and just want to turn my brain off in the middle of a bout of the flu, but I just couldn't quite convince myself, not when I have more important things to spend money on.
