I didn't mean odd as in unrealistic, I meant that it's different from most other in-game economies. I don't know of another game that has ammo as it's currency, even though there are other games where ammo is worth money. Jeff Cannata of the Totally Rad Show said it went against his usual gaming style, which is similar to mine, saving powerful stuff for when you absolutely need it. Several reviewers said that exclusively shooting the cheap ammo can make fights take a really long time and slows down the pace of the game. It's not odd at all: Military grade ammunition is light-weight, portable, is useful right out of the box, and has value in and of itself. Why would you use paper money or gold after the fall? You can't DO anything with them. It makes a perfect currency.
