This isn't a sale, but Master of Orion 1 & 2 are now available at GOG, in a bundle for $6. I still have a copy of MoO2, but I've never played MoO, so I'm kinda tempted to get it. Maybe when I clear out my backlog of unplayed games. MoO2 is an absolute classic in the turn-based 4X genre (explore, expand, exploit and exterminate). I still pull it out every now and again to play "just one more turn". I'm not sure how well it will hold up without the sheen of nostalgia, though.

Both of these are great games, though the original is better. They suffer from dated graphics and dumb enemy AI, but the story and exploration are still a lot of fun.


With "The Passing" DLC coming out for L4D2, it seems likely that will be the upcoming weekend deal.

Yeah, I still have guild wars, I've played it probably a total of 10-20 hours max over the years. I'll install it, play for a bit and get bored, then move on to other games.

Of the three I've only played Giants, and I remember it being a fun but frustratingly unpolished game. I'm not sure if time has been friendly to this strange FPS/RTS hybrid.

Last time I played my copy of Giants was about a year ago, and it was still as good as I remember it being. The controls are frustrating in some parts, but it's worth it for the comedy. It's one of those rare video games that manages to actually be funny, not just try to be.

Some pretty good titles this week: Mass Effect, Titan Quest and Trine strike me as the best deals.

Fallout 3 is, I hear, pretty good, but with none of the DLC you'd have to be sure you only want the core game. (All of the DLC for Fallout 3 would come to 4,000 MS points, or ~$50, the same as the GOTY version of Fallout 3.)

No matter what amount you donate, you can also get the rest of the Penumbra collection for 5 dollars (at least according tot he Penumbra site). The first two games (Black Plague and Overture) are pretty good, but Requiem feels like a Portal rip-off without the fun portal mechanic. Still, it's worth 5 bucks.

Well, I was feeling horribly annoyed over both CnC4 and Settlers 7 having always-online DRM which simply means I can't play, so I bought this instead. Hah!
